In this video, we cross Paris to see what is going on with the Olympics with @brettconti and @LivingBobby! I'll update you on the last minute Olympic makeover of Paris, on whether or not we will be able to swim in the Seine river, and on what locals truly think of the games. Also, I'm sharing my best tips (the ones I'll personally apply) if you're coming to Paris during the Olympics.

It’s been 15 years since my last visit to Paris. I’ll be there in 3 weeks’ time, for the Olympics. Excited to be in Paris again, but also sad that it won’t be the Paris that I remember and loved.

I got out of Paris 2 weeks ago, thank gawd. was a great visit. but, it felt like the lull before the storm. ....and you, Persians run for cover at the sight of a single drop of rain. it's not raining for you whole bike ride when all footage shows dry streets. lol

ahhh now I wish I had seen this video before going to Paris in July! Regardless, we had an amazing time and am glad we went to Paris. We also went to Beach Volleyball (evening), Judo, and Archery! Though we were at first disappointed there was no dedicated Olympic Park like in Rio 2016 and London 2012, we later realized the whole city of Paris is the Olympic Park given how a number of venues were held at iconic sites.
Great to see cycling improving!
Look on the bright side: 15 million people bringing income they made in another country to be spent in Paris, is going to be good for the local economy.
We were in Paris for the week of June 16th. Beautiful city! My boys loved seeing the Olympic rings on the Eiffel Tower.

France has been hosting major international events for decades, like the olympics, FIFA World cup, rugby World cup and so on and it's always been perfect. They know what they're doing

If London with Johnson as Mayor can mount a successful Olympics then Paris can definitely do so! (I suspect Johnson hindered more than helped!!)
I was just in Paris in June and it was so fucking unpleasant with all the scaffolding and construction. Awful.
In the light of recent events and talking to people who went on vacation in France (and cut it short in some cases), Paris looks like a very safe or enjoyable place to be at this time. I hope the two of you stay safe.

A couple of weeks ago I was in Paris and whilst on the Seine boat cruise, I managed to spot the 5 Olympic rings on the Eiffel Tower, which I had climbed earlier that day and completely not noticed! It's a nice touch, I must say!

Wow, you really got tickets to the best places and sports: Judo - French people are crazy about, Beach volleyball, Archery at Invalides. ... the Nations Parc is another must see btw
The Olympic Triathlon starts and ends on Pont Alexandre lll but there's definitely no swimming in the 42.195klm Marathon which concludes at Les Invalides. I've loved watching every one of your vlogs Lucile as we arrive in Paris for 3 nights on 30th July. We've not been to Paris since 2007 although we've travelled to Europe every year since 2017 (except covid years) and are quite excited to visit my favourite city in the world although I can't believe the cost of our hotel accommodation this time. In 2007 we stayed at Hotel du Louvre and this time at a boutique Hotel Le Littre. Keep up your excellent work!!

I really like your enthusiasm but Paris is a disaster and I still don't understand how they chose it to host the Olympics when there are so many better and more prepared cities that could host them (I think the same about the next edition which is in Los Angeles, another disaster of city), the pollution of the air and the river, the garbage in the streets, the crime rate is scandalous, the homeless, the insecurity that exists and I don't understand why they haven't fought against this much before (simply answer, they don't care) and what about the 4 euros per ticket (like WTF???), everything is selling smoke and it's a shame that a city like Paris is so destroyed and that instead of being fine all the time for a long time it's only fine for three weeks and then what? I want to see the number of cases of pickpockets that there'll be and I hope you talk about not only the good but also the bad things that happened after this event.

You're 100 percent correct, it's just getting worse here everyday, it's gonna be even worse tomorrow just getting around Paris as a Parisian is a mess, I've had to take multiple metro lines to get anywhere today, then I'm not sure half the time if where I'm goings open or there's going to be fences in the way 😡
I know people classic assumption is that the Olympics is like glamorous show biz to sells sports , drama and competition but actually it’s like a massive makeover project to branding a city

I was in Paris the first week of July and I cannot believe Paris will be ready for the Olympics. At least some unions may benefit from it.

All the predictions for a transportation nightmare during the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics turned out to be wrong. So many people left the city that the freeways were empty and vehicular traffic was the easiest and fastest it has ever been.

Working in London through the 2012 games was not too disruptive to the working day as somehow olympic spectators would travel at different times to commuters. That was my experience anyway.
Imagine to put all the money that is necessary to make the Seine swimable into drilling water fountains in Africa where they really need them …

Muay Thai also becoming an official demonstrations sport at the Paris Olympics ,since it is a demonstrations sports , of course there would be no medal count for this event ,
For certain sports to have an official recognition spot by the Olympic committee , certain sports should have a federations spans from 50 to 100 countries ,
I think it’s really make sense since Muay Thai federations itself have a large span from 50 to 100 countries

I believe that they raise the price of the subway ticket (which is one time use, and must be bought each time you use subway) in ordre to oblige people to use long time ticket or navigo pass

Traveling to and from CDG Airport by metro is the worst ive experienced !!!!
Hotels are not even fully booked. I checked the hotel prices, I thought they were gonna be expensive but they’re actually quite cheap. Even the plane tickets from Canada are not that expensive, I guess tourists are shying away from Olympics and the violence of all the protests that are happening in Paris

Hi, great video. I assume your video is monetised, in which case, may I ask how you got permission to film the Olympic rings and include them in your footage? My daughter is going to the Paralympics to do a documentary about one of the athletes, and it was made clear to the film crew that they are not allowed to include the rings in any of their shots. Le problème ce n'est probablement pas les zones dédiées à la reception des JO. Non, le problème c'est le reste de Paris. Dans ma rue, ça fait maintenant un an que le trottoir d'en face est condamné par des barrières de chantier car la chaussée à commencé à s'enfoncer.

Sorry, lost all interest in televised sport once the extent of corruption that has been exposed from player (competitor) to management, in the past 10 years. After they allowed professional athletes to compete in the olympics that was the end for me. Also, some of the events that are now part of this circus, who cares!! Most spectators/viewers would not know anything about the sport & once the games are over, the less attractive sports go back to being watched by a mere handful of people.
