    Great video Steve! You’re looking healthy, especially for a guy who almost died just a year ago! Keep up the great work!

      Thanks! Appreciate it! My shop was a big contributor to my health issues, closing it was the best thing I've ever done!

    I really admire your ingenuity and working thru your engineering process to give C8 owners a unique add on. You asked for feedback and ideas so here is what I immediately thought of after looking at you current design. Would it be possible to radius the upper transition edges so it wasn't so boxy looking and make the top softer and the opening a little more "D" shaped? Nothing exaggerated, just a little softer than a box style. This is not a criticism, just one man's idea/opinion. Keep up the good work and hope you are feeling better.

    Love the look. Not so sure about not being able to open the hatch fully....sounds like a recipe for disaster. Suggest playing with shape to get that to clear. 2nd suggestion, 2 smaller intake holes into the engine bay, one on either side of the camera. This would allow the camera to remain and make scoop functional, and remove the BOMB factor. Obviously, camera would need to be moulded into the mount. Love watching your videos, hope you are back to 💯 % soon and a new C8 is in your future👊

      Thank you I appreciate that! I’ll definitely do a camera mounted one soon. This lower bracket actually came from a non camera car and was really all I had to work with. Appreciate the feedback, and there’s more to come. Health first, car second! Thanks for support!

    lets remove the glass hatch and replace it with some lighter plastic with built in hood scoop

      I actually would like to do one in 1 piece, full carbon, and it be removed with 4 pins. Similar to a Lamborghini Huracan STO. I think it would be bad ass!

    I do not understand. How did you take plastic and make it Carbon Fiber? Or copy the Gm mounting Piece?

    Nice scoop, looks great in carbon fiber!!! The one thing I like about your videos: You give credit to those that have worked on the project unlike others out there that claim they do it all.
    In regards to opening the hatch to 75%: Is it possible to install a shorter hood strut that will better accommodate the new scoop, so it never come in contact with the roof? Just a thought...

    Wait...so it's a roof scoop that doesn't go into the engine compartment? So it doesn't direct any air? Why not design these to be a pair on left and right and attach to the side vents on the hatch? That's what other companies are doing it appears....then they're functional

  • @777RP1
    @777RP1 7 месяцев назад

    Interesting....my last comment, jumping in to ask if this would be functional before hearing your answer disappeared..... What does the McLaren's roof scoop do? Air intake or cooling?

    • @tunertorquetv
      @tunertorquetv  7 месяцев назад +1

      The Mclaren and Sto both use it for cold air intake, but some cars also use it for air for the rad. Would not be hard to make functional, if I ever get into a C8z ill design an airbox that uses the roof scoop!

    • @777RP1
      @777RP1 7 месяцев назад

      That would be freaking awesome!

    You need an engineer to engineer that thing, that's a lie. Just more R&D.

      What? You don't want it to cost four times as much and take 3 years before getting released? 😋

    • @tunertorquetv
      @tunertorquetv  7 месяцев назад

      Dude I had an approach made at my shop for the driveway. The city said it had to be “engineered”. $2200 later, the “engineering” was done. I watched the build it, they literally filled the ditch with dirt and put a culvert in for water. I’m not sure to this day what the $2200 covered 🤣

    Second comment with a different account. Have you though of making the roof scoop functional?
