I gotta say. I love your fresh honest no BS takes on movies and pop culture. But during the opening moments of this video you said something along the lines of “one of marvels most beloved characters…” I read thousands of comics in the 90’s during marvels heyday. Black Widow was always more of a background character. She had moments here and there sure. But was never a major player. I feel like the MCU in this day and age felt like they needed more stronger female characters and when scarlet took the role of Widow and the writers didn’t totally eff up on her character, then all of a sudden she became this major presence. That she never was… I mean in the world of Marvel and comics in general she isn’t even a true superhero. She would be classified as enhanced. Thanos could have flicked a booger at her with such speed and force that it would turn her into atoms. Let that sink in. Because in a particle accelerator a particle the size of a grain of sand colliding with another similar minute-object can create antimatter. Or At least a big effing explosion. Especially since Thanos could throw objects at around re-entry speeds.
this commet is not about how the fall is deep or what the ground is made of. It’s about mocking the stupid amounts of crazy stunts they pulling off and somehow surviving with no movements restraining injuries in Black Widow which are equal or even crazier than Furious movies.
They had an opportunity to make a really dark spy movie featuring Natasha. But marvel blew it with the typical whole save the world plot. It was really good in the beginning but then towards the middle I kept rolling my eyes.
I thought the beginning was a joke too. They tried to show that whole experience of a fake family and make it heartbreaking, but it was just strange and poorly timed. Overall this movie was written in the wrong theme. It should have been the Black widow version of Winter Soldier. A dark gritty drama with her learning that the program isn't over. And it also should have been more down to earth when it comes to effects, Atomic Blonde comes to mind.

I honestly thought that was what movie would be about, giving a more meaningful emotional loss to when you see black widow die, since it will build on the relationship between Clint and Natasha
@@toneman8478 He was mentioned after the end credits. Yelena is tasked to kill Hawkeye and that will be a plot of "Black Widow but not so much Black Widow 2" i assume.
I think the movie should have been "Hawkeye and Black Widow" where they reference Budapest through flashbacks and deal with the demons and consequences of what happened in Budapest.
@@awildsnorlax3075 Oh yeah? Well how about this, My Little Pony didn't even create toys from 1992 to 1997 in the United States, and the movie doll appears in pristine condition (as well as not existing).
Literally the first thing I assumed when Task Master first showed up in the film was that they were going to reveal it was *gasp* really a woman at some point towards the end of the film
The part that bugged me is… you’ve told us every black widow is sedated before entering and leaving to keep it secret, and they’re MIND CONTROLLED but who are all these dozens of soldiers working on the base? Do they live there permanently? How could that possibly be kept secret? Are they all mindcontrolled too? I presume not, since we’re supposed to feel no guilt about their deaths It would’ve been much better if it had just been the widows up there, but I guess they needed faceless goons to beat up.
Damn, when they hinted at Natasha having a dark past and having been turned to the good guys by Hawkeye, I was hoping to see that in a movie like Salt or Red Sparrow (and I don't even like Red Sparrow). Beats me why instead of an origin story they told a pointless spin-off side story.
Beats me why they'd bother telling either story post Endgame. Anything having to do with Black Widow is something they should have done years and years ago BEFORE killing her off. The whole movie was pointless from the beginning even if it had been an origin story. And the people running the MCU knew it, which is why they gave the movie to a bunch of unqualified nobodies with no accomplishments. They made it to bolster the number of movies with a female lead and that's it. They didn't care if it was good or not, they just cared that it had a female lead, so why not hand it off to a bunch of nobodies who will work on the cheap cheap.
The scenes where Nat and Hawkeye are dealing with the sacrifice demanded by the soul stone, are the most deep and emotional in the entire MCU, and no one in production saw a point in working with that chemistry ever again... :-(
What a waste of Taskmaster as a character, antagonist or otherwise. A badass assassin with photographic memory(or some shit like that) that allows them to perfectly copy the fighting styles of those they study. I mean cmon you can’t get much more Marvel than that.
@@MrTeamFoolish Of course, Disney had Palpatine to return, just like Snoke. So it wouldn't be any surprise if they recycle Taskmaster in a similar way.
It should have come out way before!! Maybe after the 1st Avengers movie considering she was one of the main original cast. Captain Marvel should not have been the first female MCU superhero with her own movie when we didn't know/care about her

Phase 2 is a copy/paste of Phase 1 but with women substituted for men, and heavy feminist themes, "men are all awful" and "women are all victimized, but no more, we won't take it anymore." In taskmasters first appearance in the comics, he goes up against all of the avengers, and almost wins! Taskmaster isn't even a black widow villain. For the amount of hype and advertisement it was mediocre.

@R Coffee imo, this was the most illogical movie i ve seen in my entire life. She couldn't survive a fall, she survives 69420 explosions(near the bridge at night, blue car when taskmistress shoots the explosive arrow, in the red room, outside the redroom...), her sister was the most annoying thing to ever exist. Red Guardian was a logical, rational, intelligent person, who didn't get caught every goddamn time*sarcasm intensifies*, a floating castle as in fantasy/magic(cinderella, beauty and beast...) movies. Of course, they had to make all male characters either misogynist monsters or useless or bad or stupid dorks.
The fact the widows have to give up their ability to have children is something pretty heavy they learn to live with. In this movie it's used as a punchline when Red Guardian asks if it's their "time of the month". What. The. Fuck.
Thank you. I've seen so many people commenting how it's one of their favorite moments from the film. One article even called it "brave" and "a great blend of humor and insight into the horrors of the Red Room." Note to self: having a woman discuss such an event with someone she cares for in a mournful way = demeaning, stupid, and bad. Having a woman crack jokes about it because it doesnt matter while talking down to a man = brave, hilarious, and insightful
I hated that scene too it was such a serious and sad Story and red guardian should feel what a bad thing he has done to the Girls.instead they make it loughable. What is it with Marvel and new Movies about there weird Moral.
I think the scene worked well to start with, but it should of ended with showing that Yelena was deeply effected by it to the point her rage makes her unpredictable. Then by the end of the movie Yelena should be so broken by her brainwashing and abuse that she turned into a villain because she has blind rage against the whole world. But nah, just tell her hawkeye killed her sister. Dumb. She would of been an epic deep and complex villain
It's basically every film he sees. At this point it's tiring, like go do yourself a favor and see some indie films. There are some good ones out there.
@@route77productions Mate I am glad you are not a film critic of any caliber, people that love movies and watch them for years pick up quite quickly when the quality gets dropped for some other reasons. It seems that Kevin Feige has completely run out of idea's and decent scripts for the MCU. And as the rest of the Avengers has either been killed off or faded into obscurity, this sounds more like a mercy killing for Black Widow than a movie to do her justice. Feige is just tying up loose ends, as over the years many fans have begged for a Black Widow movie. And this was all he could come up with....
The Widows speak perfect English because they’re taught it practically at birth. In Agent Carter, we see a scene with the Red Room spy, Angie, learning English from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. The same might be true for the Red Guardian but we never really got backstories on the Widow and Guardian programs. Only people who read the comics know who and what they represent. The movie was as vague as possible when it comes to the Red Room’s origins and the Red Guardian’s and Melina’s early history.
@@yasminelucman4827 I guess humor has only quality in the eyes of the beholder. Yelena for me was the best part of the movie that made me and my whole family chuckle or laugh
This whole movie was a plot armor fest, and to make it worse we all know nothing is going to happen because is a prequel, so all the action scenes feel empty and lacks urgency/risk to the characters.
I enjoyed the first act of the movie, but the stuff aboard the sky thingie was absurd. Nat could've doubled for Spider-Man the way she performed in the air up there.
Umm.. it's a super hero movie, what did you expect? When you watched the hulk movie, did you really believe shit in that movie is really possible? No, but you watched it anyway. And do you guys really expect the main character to die right away? Lol
You missed the bit about "severing the nerve" to kill Black Widow's sense of smell, with a bunch of hand gestures suggesting that there's one nerve that controls the sense of smell that for some reason runs down the middle of your forehead on the outside of your skull. The actual nerves controlling your sense of smell lie on the inside of your skull (funnily enough) and it takes major brain damage to destroy your sense of smell. If Black Widow had hit her head hard enough to sever those nerves, she'd have lost a lot more than her sense of smell... So that's two movies Scarlet Johansen has been in now where she should have been drooling on the floor.
And here i was thinking that the surgical head bashing was totally scientific and plausible. You crushed my illusions, i am devastated to find out that you can't actually sever your olfactory nerve by breaking your nose in a perfectly judged and executed table smash. I can't say for sure that that's the dumbest thing i ever saw on screen, but it gives that impression, thats for sure.
When I was on my way to work, about a week ago, I heard an ad on the radio that said "Critics are saying that Black Widow is the best Marvel movie to date" and after hearing that I laughed so hard I almost crashed
The worst thing about this movie is how they wasted and completely butchered taskmaster. It’s one thing to turn him into a woman, as long as the character is still good I usually don’t care even though it’s an established character. But to make her a mindless drone with no personality is just a shame. And how do you have taskmaster on your team and not have him being the one training the widows. That’s like the whole reason you’d recruit him.
Not only that, now Taskmaster was "saved"/reformed/whatever you want to call being freed. Thats an issue with SO many Marvel villians now, they are one off villians when they used to be multi-story in size. what could they possibly do to TaskMaster now??? Make her a hero?? I mean, whats the fun in that? lol Also man they really only said "they copy your movements" once and didnt touch in on that in other scenes 😂
Taskmaster was wasted in this tbh. Was barely in it and treated as a winter soldier clone. Maybe he would have been better off in falcon and winter soldier.
The fact that dreykov, just a REGULAR human being, survived from the explosion back then, unscratched, while her daughter, that is only few meters from him, barely alive, is very stupid 😂.
I totally agree, the way they handled taskmaster was what I was the most disappointed about. Not only do we barely get to see her powers in action, but she doesn’t even do that much outside of the first part of the movie.
And here I thought we were going to see more about her upbringing, training, life before she joined SHIELD, so we would know exactly why the organization was so evil and show us how she came to be the person she was later. But nah, we’ll just do a lot of shooting and explosions and fights and stupid jokes, that’ll be fine.
That's all Marvel has become now. They want all their characters to be fucking comedians, all witty and charming in the manner that Robert Downey Jr. portrayed Tony Stark. A supposed serious movie about assassins and a new world order, and they manage to fit a joke in every 2 minutes at least. It wouldn't even be as bad if they wrote good jokes too, but they don't. It's just cringe as fuck Tumblr-esque dog shit humor made for teenagers. What can you really expect though when Disney owns Marvel.

But Chinese people are on average muuuuuuuuch more conservative than the average American. Far most of them thoroughly dislike LGBT-rights, actual female empowerment (i.e. what we had before feminazism took over), and social justice. They don't give a crap about racial equality because to them being ethnically Chinese makes you automatically worth more than anyone else (unless you are a high-ranking celebrity). So pushing an SJW-agenda would be commercial suicide if you want your movies to appeal to the Chinese market.
It would've been better have Taskmaster as a mercenary hired by General Ross to hunt and capture the remaining rogue members of the Avengers. That way, Black Widow is cought in a difficult situation where she has takedown the Red Room while also evading a deadly new opponent. While Dreykov's daughter Antonia would instead be revealed to not only have survived but is also the one who took control of the Red Room after her father died.
As long as the ending was already, I totally expected the "red jizz" to have no effect on TaskMaster. I expected her to get up and be like "I didn't do this because I was being controlled..." It would have made much more sense if Dreykov controlled his daughter the old-fashioned way: through grooming, manipulation, and the promise of revenge. It also could have set up Taskmaster for the Thunderbolts, but it looks like we'll get Yelena instead. I like the character, but I was hoping to see Yelena in a new Avengers team with Sam/Cap instead of joining the Thunderbolts (aka Marvel's Suicide Squad).

6:28 Medical person here. This is strange to me. In order to break your nose in such a way to where you couldn't smell anything anymore, you'd need to break the cribriform plate, which is located directly between and below where your eyeballs sit within their orbits, to sever the olfactory nerve as it passes through. The problem is: 1. This would most likely lead to complete and irreversible loss of all olfactory function 2. Any force sufficient to break this structure would probably also cause a skull fracture and/or an epidural hematoma and would certainly knock the person unconscious. 3. Because the cribriform plate is a direct part of the anterior cranial fossa, you also would probably have cerebrospinal fluid leaking from the nose, followed by massive septic meningitis in the next few days as bacteria bypass the blood-brain barrier. I don't expect Hollywood screenwriters to have medical insight, but they should at least get someone smarter to proofread this stuff. Also, why not just pinch your nose closed with your hand and go grab a clothespin or something? I guess that would have looked stupid but probably better than fracturing your skull.

I was so excited for a movie where a woman who wanted children was forced to become a killer and eventually break free from her harsh, ingrained values. I loved the idea of the widows being a cult where they WANT to be in the widows. The widows are their family, their reason for living. It would make them much more formidable than a bunch of girls who don't even want to be there and just need some juice to set them straight. Really, what I had hoped for was a girl who wanted to be a mom, a wife, maybe an author or a pilot or something, and who was forced into a different life, tortured and manipulated but STRONG (did you hear that modern media?) enough to overcome it. Instead I got crap and they ruined a character I thought I could relate and look up to.
I feel like this movie's sole purpose was to sledgehammer new characters into the MCU. This movie should have been made right after Civil War... By a better director...
I agree that’s why sjw women shouldn’t direct comic book movies. Get ready though they are going to get more WOKE. Kevin Feige said he wants to get rid of the name X-men to xthem. And that is going to be worse and more woke. He’s said is how it is.
This movie just ruined all the intrigue and mystery behind this character and made her backstory way less dark and horrifying, that 2 second scene from age of ultron was way more interesting
Even Age of Ultron was changed in post to make it stupid. You can clearly see in AoU that she wanted to say that killing her parents to graduate made her a monster but they changed to line being sterilized even though that's nonsensical. No one would call themselves a monster because they were sterilized.
@@GeorgeMonet In one of the drinker's review he talks about it and he says that being sterlized is important. As one of the characteristics of a female is giving birth, the moment she was sterilized, she resigns being a woman, the idea of start a family, a relationship, or anything else, from that point she's no more than an effective weaponl, it's psychological and I don't think it's stupid. Also sorry for my broken english, still learning.
@@netoak7 great points and all are easily understandable! Certainly she wouldn't consider herself a monster for not being able to have children but that would absolutely psychologically traumatize some women. Keep up the good work dude!
@@kaijusoshingeki7214 At least Fat Thor had a reason for being like that. He had depression and was suffering, but the writers wanted him to act more like Laborsky.
Black widow used the antidote on taskmaster to break her mind control. And while I’m sure while undergoing the physical and mental conditioning from her abusive father would’ve been devastating and liberating to finally be free of, I would still be pissed who blew me up, blew half my face off, and set the chain of events for me becoming the monster I was
It isn’t necessarily identity politics it’s just needed someone capable of doing all of the physical parts and then someone to do the acting tons of films do that and the twist actually fits with the story it just needed better writing
@@jestersreign7530 Honestly, yes. As a woman the film was stupid and bordering on offensive. It's like marvel is so desperate to prove that it's woke that instead of just making a cool movie with a woman, they try to shove fake girl power down our throats. From the villain being super lame, to the evil scientist dude's exposition about girls being worthless (why not make his reason to choose girls something different like society feeling safe or something), talking about how the women were rendered infertile as if that is somehow important to the story. It was such a mess that it would have been better if it wasn't released at all. All this did was give incels ammo to say "see women superheros suck." They didn't deliver at all.
That part actually made a lot of sense. At first they were skeptical if they could trust each other then it became a thing of pride of who was the better.
When I first heard this movie was coming out, I was hoping it would be more liken to LOGAN. A gritty, more realistic, lower budget film that focuses on character over spectacle. It's too bad. An actress like Scarlet would have really shined in a movie like this.
I was actually hoping for something like Logan. The timing of this movie was already bad (should have been release after civil war along with homecoming) but they could have still pulled something close to Logan that would make the Endgame sacrifice a lot more emotional and gut punching instead we have another generic marvel film more busy setting up the new black widow and a clunky plot.
@@ShadowSonic2 I agree, I actually thought Logan was below average at best but because it's slightly better than the most recent X-Men movies it gets hailed as some sort of masterpiece which it certainly isn't.
it would've been so cool to see an actual "natasha perspective" movie from beginning of her story at the orphanage, to the end of her sacrifice (or maybe even a small funeral after the events of endgame). We got a tiny bit of the first part, but after that it was just a team gathering to take down the big bad, along with some fake family drama. Black widow was such an interesting character that always gave hints to her past through most all of the phase 1&2 movies she was in, but we ended up with near nothing to tell of it.
Marvel, gender-swapping iconic characters is not a “hard-hitting shock-inducing progressive” decision, it is a slap in the face to those who enjoy comic book characters that we’d like to see in a live action setting. Disappointing is an appropriate word.
Like Marvel EVEN cares about the ethics or politics at all. They just want to make sure "the modern kids like it!" $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ is ALL they care about. Just look at "What if?.." I know its based on the comics, but it's the series equivalent of Taco Bell's menu. Same ingredients, different arrangement. Eat it, morons.
Scarlett Johansson: stop sexualizing women in movies. Also Scarlett Johansson: yes I'll take the money from Lucy where I get felt up by a complete stranger.
Black Widow got a reverse "Female Superhero" treatment..after being a strong sidekick to the other Avengers, she got a less-than- stellar origin movie.
People ask me 'What's your problem with female centric films? Are you AFRAID of strong women?' My answer is 'No. I'm AFRAID the writer/director will consider women so WEAK they never give them any meaningful challenges or decisions. That makes for a BORING story.'
Or, you could have said I detest of BAD female-centric films because they don't do _anything_ to help the cause of so-called "diversity." If you think men and women are equal, wouldn't/shouldn't you demand that a female-centric film be done with the same care as a male-centric film?
My answer is : I'm not Afraid of Strong Women. I'm afraid of toxic feminism they spread by legit handicapping everyone else and making them fall in the position of Mary Sue.
Yeah there weren’t many areas where widow was actually challenged. In the beginning of the movie we thinks she’s cornered until it’s revealed she’s no where near where we think she is and is 10 steps ahead of them. Again we think she’s cornered at the end of the movie but instead it just cuts off and apparently she escaped capture somehow and now she’s going to break out others.
True tons of people seem to be building up hype by pointing out how much hype there is in things like pre-ticket sales and online polls. Basically saying because a lot of people who haven't seen the movie wanted to go see it, it had to be good.
Finally got around to watching this after long last. So on point. There are so many good themes they missed. The comics did a good job of looking at the Black Widow program, and how they could've worked that in. Or a humanizing look at the avenger's home life when they aren't away. They touched on those, and some were seemingly poignant, to immediately have to drop a stupid joke or kill the mood. The sister is talking about how she's crushed that her only "real life" was all fake, and how her "dad" only wants to talk about himself which is well done ... until they just squander it. Ugh this would have been a solid storyline (done better) to drop after civil war and before endgame to make it make sense. I think you said elsewhere it wouldve dropped where Captain Marvel came out which would have been so much better. Like too many other things - it's so frustrating to see the potential just squandered.
We do know why Red Guardian was in a Siberian prison, because that's where he is as at the end of the last season of Stranger Things. Disney is so unimaginative these days.
@AudiTheKNIGHT I'm just saying that they have the audacity of genderswapping taskmaster instead of saying this is his daughter and the original one was a legend during 1950 or some shit
I laughed very loud at Widow pulling all of Guardian's weight up single handedly while dangling from the helicopter with the other hand at high speed. Did she get a super soldier serum too?
It's because this film is still part of the MCU and it was only a couple goddamn years ago that we also had faith in the brand so we're still holding on to hope LOL

That she never was…
I mean in the world of Marvel and comics in general she isn’t even a true superhero.

Thank you. These chicks were just highly trained normal women with zappy fists not the terminators they failed to make them look like.

Task master in the animated spiderman show was better the one with super nova and the white tiger girl luke cage and the other guy
Looks like they really didn't want to have a competent male adversary
That show was my childhood.
Yeah i don't understand what was wrong with the white fit he had
I hated what they did with Taskmaster so much. They ruined him
I totally agree, the way they handled taskmaster was what I was the most disappointed about. Not only do we barely get to see her powers in action, but she doesn’t even do that much outside of the first part of the movie.
Same for Mandarin and another disposed iconic villains that I tend to forget
Don't you mean they ruined "her". 😆
I agree! Tony masters was murdered so hard
And Ultron

Disney to fans in the US: "It wasn't made for you. It was made for China."

@@AmericanNope Yeah man. Disney totally only makes movies for China. That's why Shang Chi, Eternals and Dr. Strange 2 will not be shown there. China only allows a handful of foreign movies each year.
@@AmericanNope Absolutely - although we are disappointed with this because almost all of the MCU films have been pretty good, even great.
Hmm.. should I market for 300 million, or 1.5 billion?
I definitely like this idea better.
now this is writing, they should hire you.
I like the character, but I was hoping to see Yelena in a new Avengers team with Sam/Cap instead of joining the Thunderbolts (aka Marvel's Suicide Squad).

oh you're here to see black widow, well come on in!
What’s missing with the Black Widow movie
1. darker tone, though they did that at the beginning. But it’s not enough. They could’ve done better. Ever Anderson is good though
2. Back story of the red room training.
Like winter soldier training the little widows and nat herself. And the psychological effects of the red room on Nat and Yelena.
3. Budapest. What really happened right? How did Clint and Nat became solid bffs? That should’ve been covered…
4. Iron Maiden or Melina should’ve been the main villain. Like in the comics. They destroyed Tony Masters aka TASKMASTER character. It was a waste.
5. Alexei Shotstokov should’ve been Nat’s love interest like in the comics.
Enough of the male hero body shaming.
6. Ivan Petrovich should’ve been present in this movie. He was mentioned as nat’s father in Endgame. But why isn’t he present in this film? In the comics Ivan adopted Nat. And he recruited her to be part of the red room spies.
7. THE RUSSO BROTHERS should’ve written and directed this film. Cate Shortland and jac schaffer had a lot of SHORTCOMINGS. The movie was so badly written.
8. The film should’ve been released after civil war or winter soldier.
It’s came a little too late for Phase 4. Don’t get me wrong I love Scarlett and how she played this character through the years but this movie was so late. A lot of us fans were expecting a DEEP DIVE of her PAST but we never get the chance to see what really happened instead we got a pixie dust and twisted stories. TO BE HONEST… It feels like the movie was a swan song, the origin and an apology. Basically overall it was confusing.
I also hate the fact that Natasha was a secondary character in her own movie.
Give this women her deserved Spotlight! I love Florence playing Yelena but noooo Yelena is bitchy, cunning and evil in the comics. They basically changed her. Changed her overall persona.
MCU basically ruined Natasha Romanoff
And now they’re moving on already with Yelena? Noooo she deserves so much better. I love Yelena and Florence but I hope MCU realizes the mistake they’ve done with this movie.
Cate Shortland, Jac Schaffer and Ben whatever did an awesome job of ruining one of the greatest comic characters out there. Lols 😂 they should’ve hired David Hayter and the Russo Brothers instead.
That's why Disney hires not-so-famous directors and writers; they won't argue when Disney makes changes to the script (as they do)

Yeah for example taika waititi brilliant director and writer even with only one movie in the mcu he is arguably the second best director in mcu after James Gunn of course.
I think edgar wright directed some part of Antman movie and then he left/fired.
Yeah that makes sense. The more I learn about filmmaking is that when a movie is bad, it's almost never the actors. It's not even about the directors most of the time. It's producers and studio executives that mess things up.

6:28 Medical person here. This is strange to me. In order to break your nose in such a way to where you couldn't smell anything anymore, you'd need to break the cribriform plate, which is located directly between and below where your eyeballs sit within their orbits, to sever the olfactory nerve as it passes through. The problem is:
1. This would most likely lead to complete and irreversible loss of all olfactory function

Red Guardian, the only Man in the whole film was a literal laughing stock from start to finish
Fat Thor #2
He even was useless in the entire movie, the one thing being him taking them to their MOTHER.
Played by a communist who demanded violence against the American people.
@@kaijusoshingeki7214 At least Fat Thor had a reason for being like that. He had depression and was suffering, but the writers wanted him to act more like Laborsky.
@@KRYMauL They also gave away his throne to the diverse chick.
Black widow used the antidote on taskmaster to break her mind control. And while I’m sure while undergoing the physical and mental conditioning from her abusive father would’ve been devastating and liberating to finally be free of, I would still be pissed who blew me up, blew half my face off, and set the chain of events for me becoming the monster I was
It would have been interesting if the Widows were still evil because that's all they've known... to murder people.
Task master is played by a man the entire movie except for that awkward 30 second reveal! Identity politics at its worst.
Apparently that 30 second reveal is photoshop so taskmaster is played by a man 100% of the time.
It isn’t necessarily identity politics it’s just needed someone capable of doing all of the physical parts and then someone to do the acting tons of films do that and the twist actually fits with the story it just needed better writing
Ah yes, the trademark, 'subversion of expectations', trope that was totally unpredictable(!)
@@Barbro247 Its so obvious that she doesn't fit in the costume.
"Why did she and her sister try to kill each other for no reason?"
Clearly spoken by an only child.

a sibling relationship isn't complete unless one or more of you have ended up in the hospital due to accidental damage during fights growing up
That part actually made a lot of sense.
Logan was just a generic Western, predictable start to finish. Take out the blood and cursing and there's little memorable about it.
@@ShadowSonic2 I think you watched the wrong movie
@@ShadowSonic2 I agree, I actually thought Logan was below average at best but because it's slightly better than the most recent X-Men movies it gets hailed as some sort of masterpiece which it certainly isn't.
@@ShadowSonic2 still better than 90% of the whole MCU
it would've been so cool to see an actual "natasha perspective" movie from beginning of her story at the orphanage, to the end of her sacrifice (or maybe even a small funeral after the events of endgame).
Yea and there are plenty of female superheroes to put on screen but they don’t want to do that
Taskmaster would have been so cooler as a mercenary.
@@chronicallyboredenby press F for Tony Masters sacrifice for the name of "Equality"
@basedweeb The comics are so dogshit nowadays can't read something without vomiting
I wish they focused on the red room side more - a psychological horror would’ve been cool
mmmm that's too creative, how does cookie cutter for the next 5 years sound..?
I agree, it would have been cool to explore the actual red room stuff more
well they told us YEARS ago that they wont because with Red Sparrow we already have that backstory so if you want you can watch that

Scarlett Johansson: stop sexualizing women in movies.
Also Scarlett Johansson: yes I'll take the money from Lucy where I get felt up by a complete stranger.
I was trying to forget that movie existed, so... Thanks.

@@bigduke5902 doesn't matter, she took the role.
"Lucy" absolutely sucked. "Limitless" with Bradley Cooper pulled off that premise a whole lot more effectively and realistically.
@@NexusKin LOL Sounds like a sequel: Limitless Lucy :P
Black Widow got a reverse "Female Superhero" treatment..after being a strong sidekick to the other Avengers, she got a less-than- stellar origin movie.
People ask me 'What's your problem with female centric films? Are you AFRAID of strong women?'
My answer is 'No.
@@D2Kprime 'wouldn't/shouldn't you demand that a female-centric film be done with the same care as a male-centric film?'
just tell them you will praise a female centric film if it is as good as Kill Bill
Finally a review from someone who is not a Disney shill
Lol you should check out his other reviews. They’re spot on
The Drinker always calls them like he sees them.
True tons of people seem to be building up hype by pointing out how much hype there is in things like pre-ticket sales and online polls. Basically saying because a lot of people who haven't seen the movie wanted to go see it, it had to be good.

You don't mess with family.
Hey, remember how in Winter Soldier, Black Widow *and* Cap were allowed to be taken seriously? I liked that, that was good.
We do know why Red Guardian was in a Siberian prison, because that's where he is as at the end of the last season of Stranger Things. Disney is so unimaginative these days.
Ah, makes perfect sense. Thanks for that :)
They ruined a spectacular character to fill their “woman power” social agenda with Taskmaster like why would they do that to him
Because "subverting expectations" everybody knew...
Just make a character called taskmistress or some shit and then introduce taskmaster later not this
taskmaster even has a daughter with the same power in the comic
@@simpelfrietje4865 so the theory was true and expected all along ,they gender swap Taskmaster
Hahaha me too. It would have been better if he grabbed a bit of the rope.
