This is by far the best video about mechanics I've ever come across this guy is blessed naturally with knowledge of mechanics for sure and the presentation it took what 8 minutes for him to get his point across loved it subscribed wish she was in my life it's nice to have a mechanic like that in your life
I love your channel they are not much of us diagnosticians, in the shops I'm working for myself now because in every shop I have been to they are always other mechanics there that are jealous and take your skills as a threat and always want to make you look bad or that you don't know what you are doing since I work for myself I haven't had any problems diagnosing customers vehicles and they all come back
great video my son is going to need some help on his it is showing the same miss, thanks this will help us get it done, And what a cute Daughter you have!!
Scannerdanner has shown a few of these, and he surprised me with a comment that I didn't expect from him. Paul made the remark that one should routinely replace the plug and wires, in case the bad coil/boot happened as a consequence of extra heat (and spiking voltage) from a partial open in the downstream secondary. He's not normally a guy who advocates replacing normal parts, Paul made a name for himself by calling out the parts changers of the world. I guess it comes down to an inability to reliably detect a defect in the secondary that might have caused the coil to fail. What do you think?
Thank you, I been watching your posts. Truly help. I'm still having trouble with altima going into limp mode during to brake circuit. So if you have update on that one. It would be great. I did change brake switch and cruise control switch.
Thanks very much about the Dodge Nitro very good advice you make it seem easy been having a lot of problem with my Dodge Nitro 2008 first head heating problems now throttle body tried to get it to connect an idol out right thanks for the input keep up the good work and helping people understand the Dodge Nitro you get two thumbs up
Eric, a good quick easy fix luckily as you seem to have a lot of running around to do. Beautiful daughter enjoy they grow up quick. Thanks for sharing. ❤️
Good point but if that's the case the ecu already has a fried driver for number 6 cylinder so it's getting repaired or replaced anyway. Just my opinion.
Auto Tec just to clarify if you play swap trolnics and the ecu is not fried and it’s a bad coil that didn’t fry it then you swap it then it fried if that makes sense, that’s more of what I meant
@@robhughes8516 not with smart coils it happens quite a bit or issue rectified itself my moving stuff. You must not be a tech obviously. This is what part changers do btw.
Yep. Wide spark plug gaps will increase the required secondary voltage which can blow through the insulation to get to the ground. I was in the Honda biz for a long time and this was a common problem. The models with distributors were bad about wide plug gaps causing high required voltages to blow through the ignition rotor button to the distributor shaft.
Not very reliable. My engine spun a rod bearing shortly after making that video. I still have the truck. It’s been sitting in my driveway for the past 2 years because I refuse to pay $1500 for a used engine. I am planning on rebuilding it myself in the near future.
Years a go when I was dating my now wife she stopped by because her car was barely running. Two of the coil on plugs were cracked and burnt. Wrapped them with the thick rubber insulating tape then electric tape. Two years latter she was using my garage to do a tune up when I noticed she never replaced them. The tape still worked.
Check engine light popped up on my 09 nitro 3.7... Got a code p0302 misfire on #4 they switch out all my spark plugs charged me 200.00 sent me on my way...week later check engine light popped back up again. I don't know what is going on.
Hmmm. Never knew this engine's cylinder numbering deviated from the usual V6 numbering where cylinder 1 is the first on the passenger side. This also looks like that on the mid 2000's Jeep Liberty.
I've never watched any of your videos before. The introduction where your and your family members vehicles all need work does not bode well for you. I'm going to watch this video and based on itI may or may not be back.
Larry Ehrlich - the guy is trying to make a living and raise a family with small children. He’s probably broke and drives older cars. Lord knows I do to... sometimes they have issues. Cut him some slack... it doesn’t mean he’s a slacker or a inept tech.

I drive a dodge nitro 3.7l so I'm always looking out for new trouble shooting info on them. Thanks for the vid.

Keep at it bro! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this video. I had the same problem, swapped the bad coil and now it's running great.
Glad it helped
You just taught me a lot so simple, thank you🤟🏼
I recently bought a 07 Nitro no problem with ignition but am familiar with ignition coil now. Thanks
Working on a code p0731 at present
Thanks for your help my daughter is having this issue now this is helpful
great video my son is going to need some help on his it is showing the same miss, thanks this will help us get it done, And what a cute Daughter you have!!
Nitro = junk. P0306 PO300 replaced plug coil no luck.
Thank you for video on how to replace coil though.
Best,
Lars

Now, never use power tools on ignition coils, second how much was the ngk one? Third, your daughter is super sweet. Good video. Thanks
Thank You for this GREAT VIDEO!
Hi, I have the same type of car, I replaced all the coils, worked good, but today I got a misfire again.
Damn dude, a lot of bad luck huh. I feel you 😂 My Nitro has had 5 or 6 codes being thrown for the past month...time to change shit
Sometimes low tech is the fastest way 😁 Thanks for sharing 👍
Truth!! Thanks for watching!

Assuming that you are Eric have been watching Eric O. at SMS for some time. Subscribed here also now. Thanks
Always scares my to swap coils when the drivers are in the module, I’ve seen modules get fried for doing that. Great video tho man good job.... jay
Good point. Thanks

Hey great video...what's the name of the scanner would like to get one
All your videos are Useful thanks
Thank you!
great video men. by the way do you have any videos about code p0175 tho ?
I have the same problem with my 2007 nitro slt, and changed all of the plugs and coils, and still have the problem. Any suggestions?
You may want to check the spark plug gap, it can stress the coil with a increased gap. I think the plugs on this engine have a 30k interval
Yeah, I'm planning on changing them this week. Thanks for watching!

Does your nitro pass the smog easy?
Are the 4.0’s the same as for the location for cylinder 6? I have the same code but it’s a 4.0
Very good video 👍🏼
Where your place you work at bro I live in Houston want to take my truck in same problem
How did you pull out the coil?
Thank you very in formative . Like the video
Great informative video!
Are these nitros reliable? Looking at a 2008 6 speed. 141k miles

That's awesome!
Thanks very your video very usefull👍👍
Well done
Sometimes we beat the dragon! This is one of those times. Hi to your daughter.
It happened with my nitro, but for sure I’d did a full tune up, so far my nitro working great, all ngks coils and spark plugs,
My ex has a 2010 Nitro and has had a ton of issues with it overheating. It took 3 trips to the mechanic and about $4000 to get it fixed.
excellent video Eric thanks
Thanks!
Thank you!
what model of Maxisys do you use?
you r the man..👍
My 07 Dakota misfires, and I replaced all plugs 7 coils, and it was fine for a while, so I replaced the cam positioner sensor, but still at a loss.
Even after o change the coil and spark plug. My car keeps burning out coil #6 what could be causing that?
I'm having the same issue. #6 keeps misfiring. Did you fix the issue?
I have same issue
Precious! They grow up fast Daddy!
Thanks Eric ,
Thanks for watching!

How much does a new boot cost you where saying it could be the boot what is it called
Wait does it come together when you buy the coil
Swap-tronics diagnostic testing. If it works for ya.
No need to over complicate these things. Swap-tronics FTW! Lol
My fourth cylinder is misfiring and code reads I have a bad injector
Mine feels like its got a missfire but no check engine light. Hmm
when my 6 was misfiring it was getting wet by coolant and was a blown head gasket :( wahhhhhhh I had 3, 4 and 6 misfiring

Thank you. Cutie for a daughter.
