I've had mine for a week. Absolutely fantastic, game-changing phone. Been getting very decent battery life. Also got used to the narrow front screen within a few days. Typing is absolutely no issue anymore. Highly recommended
I love everything about my phone. I got it, yesterday and have been setting it up all evening. I have no complaints, because to me, it's perfect. I'm upgrading from a Samsung 7s Edge Plus that I've been using for the last 5 years. So, you know I'm happy. 😅

Just got mine yesterday. This review is pretty much spot on. Especially with the narrowness of the outside screen. They need to widen this phone a smidge. I also really like they they've made the edges more flat as opposed to the standard Samsung completely rounded frame. It's a great look and feels good. I don't even notice the under screen camera. I haven't even thought about it until now. That's how unnoticeable it is. I don't consider it's limitations any where near a show stopper. And I prefer it to a cut out. I'm not a selfie guy, but if I was I'd be using the outside camera for that anyway. The USC is basically a webcam. Use it that way and it's an insignificant limitation. Overall it's a fantastic iterative update. Fold3 is MUCH snappier. The inside and outside screens sharing the same layout is much appreciated. The new tablet UI elements in unfolded mode are a welcome improvement. The S-Pen case SUCKS. They are going to have to widen this phone to make room for an S-Pen docking port if it's going to take off.
Well, at least on my phone, there appears to be a problem with the 120hz/adaptive refresh rate. It's not adjusting in apps unless I close the app and reopen.
the weirdest thing I happened I placed my order on the 24 the funds are taken from the bank. I look at my bank account and see that they gave me my 1.2k back plus another 1.2k and then charged me again 1.2k So now I have an extra 1.2k and I called and said everything was fine and that the transaction was final was this any error on there part I basically got it for free

The UDC is great and having 120 hz on both displays is beautiful. Its a great phone if your willing to pay the price and make the upgrade

I do agree its more like a Z Fold 2s with its incremental upgrades. Currently on the Z Fold 2 and I've gotten used to the narrow cover display. The only thing that i really like about the Z Fold 3 is its IPX8 rating now which i would greatly appreciate having.
I am all for this new segment of foldables and will get me one in the future probably, however not before a 5th generation. I believe they still need to iron out some details like a better UDC, the crease somehow still visually bothers me, improve the camera's in general and bring them on par with S21U or Note Ultras (considering the price we pay), battery capacity and S Pen integrated within the device... Let's see 2 generations from now where they are. In the mean time, I'm enjoying my 5G S21 Ultra.
i own a fold 3 and its my first foldable. i love and appreciate this device but i don't recommend it to everybody. in terms of daily use it's not super practical, but once you sit down and fold it up to watch/read/listen some content - it's awesome. it doesn't replace a regular smartphone and it doesn't replace tablets either, but it's just super nice to have such a big screen always with you - and if you ask me that is what this is mainly all about. if that's for you and you are willing to buy it - do it - otherwise don't.
I'm big on multitasking and media consumption, and don't care much for camera quality. I do worry about the battery life for long trips, but I'm usually only at my desk watching stuff at work lol, so charging isn't an issue for daily use. This seems like a great phone for me.
@@Nonresponder01 battery is not great but not bad either. You get easily through the day depending on how you use it. For longer trips I'd definitely recommend an external powerbank though. You can use the phone for several hours on a row but then it won't have enough battery left to stay through the rest of the day. I don't have to worry much about the battery with this device in my daily life bc it's simply enough and also I have charging opportunities setup at work and at home of course. But yes, if I'd travel with this device I'd definitely take my powerbank with me.
You won't regret it... the gaze car charger doesn't charge to well but holds the phone perfectly..watch out for those FedEx guys they just left mine on the floor my condo.. I'm still trying to figure out who signed for it..
I agree. At this point Samsung need to listen to suggestions from the feedback of buyers because its not there yet, the phones still new and people are on the fence. Need a good thing to finally persuade them over. If we can all spread the word that a bigger front screen is needed maybe samsung can be made aware for it to happen next year on fold 4
4 things I wish Z Fold 3 should include. 1. Expandable storage. 2. Larger/wider cover screen (same size as Note 20 Ultra) - this will minimise the need to carry both Note 20 Ultra and Tab S7 with me each time. 3. S Pen support on cover screen. 4. Same S Pen frequency as Note series and Tab S series with a retracting tip. (No need to have a swtich on the S Pen Pro).
I love mine. As far as the front screen typing, use auto correct OR speech to text...cmon... For the under display camera, use a dark theme and it literally disappears. I forget there is a camera there. Anyone else agree with this? The phone is amazing.

Mine arrived yesterday and I'm loving it. I'm a Note user but I am ready for change up and this checks alot of the boxes and has me excited for a fresh take. I agree the front is narrow and that's probably the biggest thing I will have to get used to. But so far I love this thing!
I currently have a note 10+, have you noticed a big difference with camera images with the fold z3? Was debating if I wanted the latest note s21 (or s22 )ultra phone (I honestly can't remember which number it is now lol) or a fold z3. Trying to see what everyone things about overall functionality.

I'm not a Samsung fanboy nor a previous fold holder however I pre-ordered this because at best buy I was able to use the phone and I loved the practicality of the folded screen with easy texting. I currently have a pixel 5 and typically text with 1 hand as well for fast messages and here I think it's a big win for the fold 3 vs the flip 3. Wish the flip 3 had the same size flipped screen as the Motorola razr 5g lol I would've gone with the flip 3 if that was the case.

Technically, Huawei is two classes above Z Fold 3. Anything is better on the Mate X2, from the camera, technical construction, battery and so on. But, as we know, Huawei is ... Huawei ...

Great review. As you said yourself, it won't replace the note series, no matter how many fold 3 sales they have. When they bring out the note22 ultra there gonna make it the best note they ever made. It's gonna be a beast.
I went from a Note 10+ to the Z fold 2. It's a good device but damn I do miss that in phone S pen. I'll wait for the Z fold 4 to come out before upgrading. Great vid as always!
The reason 4 not adding an ip rating 4 dust resistant is because 2 add it next year. When u run out of idea u just don't add stuff on purpose n save it 4 the next year 2 call it an upgrade. About the spen not supporting cover display no one would use it on such a narrow display there isn't enough display.
I do have it, and for me the spen was the most missed option to the whole folding thing. With spen (it works marvelously) and water resistance, was worth the upgrade.
I tutor GRE online, using a shareable whiteboard. I traded in my note 10+ when I bought this phone, and the extra real estate for writing out equations is big help. It is small enough so that I can hold it in my hand while writing. Also, uploaded documents to the whiteboard are much easier to see and write on.
I'm still surprised every time I hear someone complain about texting on the front screen. Who still uses two thumbs to type in 2021? Swype has been a thing for over a decade
Swiping is too slow for me. So i just use 2 thumbs for typing and I'm fast at it. But i don't care about the narrow screen even though i have big hands cause as the 1st guy in this comment thread said....people used iPhone 5 and 5S and they had real narrow screens and never complained. And i have used Z Flip 1st gen as well. It has a narrow screen on the inside as well. And i was still fine with it.
I'm still a note fan boy. I want to pick up the fold 3 but I kinda want to hold out for a possible Note. I'm currently using my Note 9 which is definitely serving its purpose and I love it with my SPen. My daughters doodle and we work on math with it and love taking quick notes on it.

I've had mine for a week and love it. The under display camera, doesn't bother me at all. Yes the front display keyboard is tiny but you know, I will live with it. I was looking at getting the Fkold 2 when I heard that the Fold 3 was coming out, so waited, and waited. I'm glad I did. I'm also in the Apple eco system, :( but I think I will always have a Fold as 1st or 2nd phone.
The phone has a lot of compromises but I don't think underscreen camera is one of them. When watching content I can't see the udc unless I'm looking for it

Love the intro, watched it 3 times! The review covers all the things I was interested in. Unfortunately I can’t order it yet because it’s not available in Japan at the moment, but I’m going to order it the moment it releases here ( even though I really want to hold on and wait for the fold 4 which I believe will be not an iteration but a revolution)
The big drawback I see for this is that I use my phone as a gps in my car all the time. It would be impossible to use the cover display for this and I’ve never seen a phone holder for it unfolded.
Samsung want you to use the cover screen minimally for making calls, playing your audio etc. When you need to type or do anything productive, just unfold. If the cover screen is too wide, it makes it too chunky and hardly fits into your pocket.
When you say a lot of other companies are doing it, not including the charger anymore, what other companies? Other than Samsung and Apple who are two of the largest, and have a majority of the smartphone sales, but they are the only ones I know not including the charger out of the box. Apple ppl are fierce and they stick to their phones. I play with my GF iphone here and there and I just don't see the draw. Anytime we take selfies or pics she prefers my note 20 pics and anytime I'm watching t.v or movies on my phone she says wow why does it look better on yours than mine. I even offered her to buy the fold or SG ultra 21 as Samsung has excellent combo/bundle deals but no she wants the iphone 13 so I'm buying her that one and I'm waiting for note 21 or 22 whatever they call it.

Agree with you….a few things need sorting before I buy again…. 1.. the outer screen needs to be wider like a regular candy bar phone. 2..the cameras should be the best like S21 ultra cameras. 3..the s pen should be able to store in the phone like note phones 4..if they made it slightly wider then the battery size could increase a bit giving longer usage. 5..why not sell this at 1350…then introduce a fold ultra for 1600 with all the improvements I mentioned.
Got mine yesterday in silver. Not sure how I received a day early, but was nice surprise. Some initial thoughts. Under display camera I don't notice. Even as watching this video in different aspects ratios I don't see it. I wasn't sure about getting this phone because of size and carrying around or putting in pants or shorts pocket. It actually fits better in my pockets than my note 20 ultra. It's only a little thicker than my note with spigen clear case, not thicker than my ridge wallet, and it's shorter so it doesn't stick out of pocket or sit right at top of pocket. When folded open it is awkward to figure out how to hold comfortably. Especially when watching videos in bed. On my note I can hold with one hand, but not with the fold. With the fold I guess new norm is to hold with two hands at all times. Probably will depend on your hand size but I'm 6 foot and not thinking my hands are small. I notice the screen edge on front screen is rough or slightly sharp. Just realized after watching this video that it's Samsung's screen protector. Debating if I should pull off like mentioned in this video. I did get case with pen as part of the $200 accessory credit. I'm not a regular s pen user and honestly will probably seldom use when on the go for work. The case to me is not very good. I'd go with different case but I'm feeling like this phone doesn't need a case. Although it would be nice to have a kickstand. I've taken a handful of pics with main cameras and picture quality looks just like my note so no loss there.
I just got mine today. After a long long time with Apple it's a really new experience. The cameras are the most feelable thing after the 12PM. I am curious how long it will last for me, but its defently a good and new experience. :D

All I can say is forget all the reviews, comments and videos about this Fold 3. Some saying narrow front screen or whatever, Everyone's thoughts about this phone is different all I can say is just get this phone you WILL LOVE everything about it, its just toooo good of a phone. You need to experience it yourself.
I agree with your opinion that this is a Z Fold 2s than a Z Fold 3. However, this generation of foldable devices is more about taking away the hesitation of the consumers towards foldables. It's more about adoption than upgrades. (My opinion) Samsung if you're listening, just upgrade the damn cameras to S22 Ultra level next year and take my $100 more lol

Yeah i hate the case although im happy i got the s pen, you can slide the s pen holder off of the case though which is nice.

Personally It feels like when they left the little things out like no s-pen support on the covers, is just a reason for a next generation.

Wrong, it does replace a candy bar smartphone and can replace a tablet because of the s-pen.

the weirdest thing I happened I placed my order on the 24 the funds are taken from the bank. I look at my bank account and see that they gave me my 1.2k back plus another 1.2k and then charged me again 1.2k So now I have an extra 1.2k and I called and said everything was fine and that the transaction was final was this any error on there part I basically got it for free
I've had my #Samsung #Fold3 for 1mth now,and have has zero issues with it, and I use it all day long, same with the S Pen and case.
Got mine yesterday. Very good first folding phone. I love it!

Mine arrived yesterday and I'm loving it. I'm a Note user but I am ready for change up and this checks alot of the boxes and has me excited for a fresh take. I agree the front is narrow and that's probably the biggest thing I will have to get used to. But so far I love this thing!
I currently have a note 10+, have you noticed a big difference with camera images with the fold z3? Was debating if I wanted the latest note s21 (or s22 )ultra phone (I honestly can't remember which number it is now lol) or a fold z3. Trying to see what everyone things about overall functionality.

This x10. I have a note 10 plus, I'm fairly certain this phone has the same cameras, and for 1800, I better be getting that 30x, 50x, or 100x zoom. At least an upgrade would be nice.

I'm not a Samsung fanboy nor a previous fold holder however I pre-ordered this because at best buy I was able to use the phone and I loved the practicality of the folded screen with easy texting.
I currently have a pixel 5 and typically text with 1 hand as well for fast messages and here I think it's a big win for the fold 3 vs the flip 3.
Wish the flip 3 had the same size flipped screen as the Motorola razr 5g lol I would've gone with the flip 3 if that was the case.

I got my Z Fold 3 yesterday. I agree, it would the nice if it was more like the Huawei size-wise. Would have been nice to have had pen support on the front. No, it surely doesn't replace the Note.
Huawei is 30 grams heavier and that is huge. The weight is the most complaints from using the foldable phone from most users

Technically, Huawei is two classes above Z Fold 3. Anything is better on the Mate X2, from the camera, technical construction, battery and so on. But, as we know, Huawei is ... Huawei ...
@@MoMo-pd5hu lol no. Only the zoom camera is the advantage of the mate x2. Battery is better on fold series than any other copycats. Design and aesthetic is miles better on the fold 3. The mate x2 serve no purpose at all

Great review. As you said yourself, it won't replace the note series, no matter how many fold 3 sales they have. When they bring out the note22 ultra there gonna make it the best note they ever made. It's gonna be a beast.

I went from a Note 10+ to the Z fold 2. It's a good device but damn I do miss that in phone S pen. I'll wait for the Z fold 4 to come out before upgrading. Great vid as always!

The reason 4 not adding an ip rating 4 dust resistant is because 2 add it next year. When u run out of idea u just don't add stuff on purpose n save it 4 the next year 2 call it an upgrade. About the spen not supporting cover display no one would use it on such a narrow display there isn't enough display.

I do have it, and for me the spen was the most missed option to the whole folding thing.
With spen (it works marvelously) and water resistance, was worth the upgrade.
I just bought s pen and cover with holder. ..so s pen is back in ....but the large screen and multi tasking many apps on single screen is mind blowing

I tutor GRE online, using a shareable whiteboard. I traded in my note 10+ when I bought this phone, and the extra real estate for writing out equations is big help. It is small enough so that I can hold it in my hand while writing. Also, uploaded documents to the whiteboard are much easier to see and write on.
Change the keyboard to GBoard and the cover display typing works great.

I'm still surprised every time I hear someone complain about texting on the front screen. Who still uses two thumbs to type in 2021? Swype has been a thing for over a decade
exactly or just use the google keyboard, people used to type on the iPhone 5 & that was as smaller touchscreen.

Swiping is too slow for me. So i just use 2 thumbs for typing and I'm fast at it. But i don't care about the narrow screen even though i have big hands cause as the 1st guy in this comment thread said....people used iPhone 5 and 5S and they had real narrow screens and never complained. And i have used Z Flip 1st gen as well. It has a narrow screen on the inside as well. And i was still fine with it.

I'm still a note fan boy. I want to pick up the fold 3 but I kinda want to hold out for a possible Note. I'm currently using my Note 9 which is definitely serving its purpose and I love it with my SPen. My daughters doodle and we work on math with it and love taking quick notes on it.

I've had mine for a week and love it. The under display camera, doesn't bother me at all. Yes the front display keyboard is tiny but you know, I will live with it. I was looking at getting the Fkold 2 when I heard that the Fold 3 was coming out, so waited, and waited. I'm glad I did. I'm also in the Apple eco system, :( but I think I will always have a Fold as 1st or 2nd phone.
The phone has a lot of compromises but I don't think underscreen camera is one of them. When watching content I can't see the udc unless I'm looking for it
@Buttons Williams Exactly! People forget just how small the 1st gen iPhone was and they absolutely loved that phone! I'm trading a Note 8 which I loved, but I've had my Fold for 2 days now and I'm completely sold!

I usually use my voice to send text messages these days anyway, so the narrow typing on the front doesn't really issue me on the cover display.
The big drawback I see for this is that I use my phone as a gps in my car all the time. It would be impossible to use the cover display for this and I’ve never seen a phone holder for it unfolded.
There are some out there..I have two different kinds made to use it while it's unfolded

Samsung want you to use the cover screen minimally for making calls, playing your audio etc. When you need to type or do anything productive, just unfold. If the cover screen is too wide, it makes it too chunky and hardly fits into your pocket.
Regarding the cramped front display keyboard for texting, just turn it sideways, then the keyboard is just perfect.

When you say a lot of other companies are doing it, not including the charger anymore, what other companies? Other than Samsung and Apple who are two of the largest, and have a majority of the smartphone sales, but they are the only ones I know not including the charger out of the box. I can hear the apple users in the future now. "Apple got the fold right " while ignoring the fact Samsung did it first, went through the trials and tribulation, fails and successes of the fold. And they're gonna ignore the fact that Samsung is gonna be the manufacturer of the ifold.
Samsung takes the risk and criticism, apple dont. If we wait for apple to "innovate" we would be in the notch era til 2030

Apple ppl are fierce and they stick to their phones. I play with my GF iphone here and there and I just don't see the draw. Anytime we take selfies or pics she prefers my note 20 pics and anytime I'm watching t.v or movies on my phone she says wow why does it look better on yours than mine. I even offered her to buy the fold or SG ultra 21 as Samsung has excellent combo/bundle deals but no she wants the iphone 13 so I'm buying her that one and I'm waiting for note 21 or 22 whatever they call it.

Agree with you….a few things need sorting before I buy again….
1.. the outer screen needs to be wider like a regular candy bar phone.
2..the cameras should be the best like S21 ultra cameras.
3..the s pen should be able to store in the phone like note phones
4..if they made it slightly wider then the battery size could increase a bit giving longer usage.
5..why not sell this at 1350…then introduce a fold ultra for 1600 with all the improvements I mentioned.

Got mine yesterday in silver. Not sure how I received a day early, but was nice surprise. Some initial thoughts.
Under display camera I don't notice. Even as watching this video in different aspects ratios I don't see it.
I wasn't sure about getting this phone because of size and carrying around or putting in pants or shorts pocket. It actually fits better in my pockets than my note 20 ultra. It's only a little thicker than my note with spigen clear case, not thicker than my ridge wallet, and it's shorter so it doesn't stick out of pocket or sit right at top of pocket.
When folded open it is awkward to figure out how to hold comfortably. Especially when watching videos in bed. On my note I can hold with one hand, but not with the fold. With the fold I guess new norm is to hold with two hands at all times. Probably will depend on your hand size but I'm 6 foot and not thinking my hands are small.
I notice the screen edge on front screen is rough or slightly sharp. Just realized after watching this video that it's Samsung's screen protector. Debating if I should pull off like mentioned in this video.
I did get case with pen as part of the $200 accessory credit. I'm not a regular s pen user and honestly will probably seldom use when on the go for work. The case to me is not very good. I'd go with different case but I'm feeling like this phone doesn't need a case. Although it would be nice to have a kickstand.
I've taken a handful of pics with main cameras and picture quality looks just like my note so no loss there.
Fold 3 is indeed a bad ass
I just got mine today. After a long long time with Apple it's a really new experience. The cameras are the most feelable thing after the 12PM. I am curious how long it will last for me, but its defently a good and new experience. :D

All I can say is forget all the reviews, comments and videos about this Fold 3. Some saying narrow front screen or whatever, Everyone's thoughts about this phone is different all I can say is just get this phone you WILL LOVE everything about it, its just toooo good of a phone. You need to experience it yourself.
I agree with your opinion that this is a Z Fold 2s than a Z Fold 3.
However, this generation of foldable devices is more about taking away the hesitation of the consumers towards foldables. It's more about adoption than upgrades. (My opinion)
Samsung if you're listening, just upgrade the damn cameras to S22 Ultra level next year and take my $100 more lol
