I like this more than Baldur's gate I think due to the straight forward D&D stuff we come for. Baldur's has more fluff for sure, but to me it takes away a bit if you want the core D&D. I think that is why I still play CIV V instead of CIV VI as all that extra new stuff took away from the core that we all loved with CIV v.
Thanks for the post. I agree, Solasta is a D&D table top game with not frills, straight to the point. BG3 is divinity 2 with D&D rule set. BG3 is about the story and your decisions determining the outcome of the game. Solasta is way more based on the rules and combat. Responses are better late than never am I right? Cheers!
It is a fun game, and I hope that the devs add some more content to it. The story line could use a little bit more to pad out the play time and give a bit more development to the characters and the world. The story is intriguing but is a bit short, but it doesn't hurt the game. Thanks for the new video. Glad to see you are still hanging in there
I played now once through Solasta and it’s a great game. The combats are much more fun than in BG 3 early access and they have a better approach to handle the verticality of the levels. Story was average but really ok considering the budget. I also like that they experiment already with different factions in the DLC. Maybe it can go one day into the direction of Tyranny from Obsidian. Which is a masterpiece if it comes to branching trees of a story. But even without the Theme park like density of the world of DOS2 or BG3 it is a great game. I hope they can get more resources in the future to put also more energy in the design of quests and fights. The fight with the master or the Vampires were already very interesting designed.
100% agree. This game has so much potential. Hopefully they keep selling copies and get more funding to create content. I feel like they are getting better with each content update. Responses are better late than never am I right? Cheers!
100% agree. Their Lost Valley DLC is an improvement of the original, so I have high hopes. I think their next DLC is going to be additional classes and subclasses based on their posts. Monk, Bard, and warlock I think? Responses are better late than never am I right? Cheers!
You have a well put together video review, really enjoyed watching and it have subbed. Happen to agree with your review, and why you like Solasta more than BG3. Really enjoyed my first and only playthrough of BG3, it was 100s of hours, played a wizard, took the good path, and did nearly every quest and option in the game available to a good playthrough. BG3 is a work of art and an outstanding game. What I am so upset at Larian is that they won't release any expacs and won't release true editing tools that will allow fans to make their own modules. Totally get that that wasn't promised, and my hurt feelings against Larian are due to how much I LOVE BG3 and wish its life could be extended, not any cheapshot hate I want to take at its devs. I feel like the game was so hyped during early access and charged a premium price, it was one of the best selling RPGs of all time, and then they dropped it. Which is their right, and it's my right to be very disappointed they choose that. TA on the other hand have put tremendous amount of support and released multiple expacs. During their KS they didn't promise a module creator, but they released one anyways due to (imo) the success of the game and it was selling well. I know they didn't initially promise a module creator because if they had, I would have backed their kickstarter! Solasta is also much more true to the literal rules of 5th ed. All told, they're both great games and I felt super lucky to be able to play both. Solasta will always have a place on my hard drive and I feel like I'll be playing new modules released for it years from now. BG3, other than an evil play through, I feel like I've seen everything there is to see, and at least for me, the replayability isn't there.

Yeah Baldur's Gate 3 definitely absolutely does not feel like a legit Baldur's Gate game at all. I agree it feels more like Divinity Original Sin 2.5 and in a very unfinished state at that. I think Solasta could have done with a better character interaction, but it more than makes up for in combat. I also think Divinity Original Sin 2 is a better game than Baldur's Gate 3. Not sure if it is because it is such a cheap reskin of DoS2 or something, but I'm not at all impressed with Baldur's Gate 3. In many ways it's like the Desperados III game that is a reskin of Shadow Tactics: Blades of the shogun. Mechanically Shadow Tactics BotS is a great game, but when reskinned to match a Desperados theme, it feels way too much like it's not its own thing. It doesn't feel like a Desperados game to me. Oh and some of the levels are direct copies, not even kidding.
100% agree with everything you said. I really hope they are getting enough money to keep making better content so they can work on the character interactions. They are by far the worst part of the game. Responses are better late than never am I right? Cheers!

I really liked solasta. I really liked the way that they laid down the ground work. I feel like they can expand on it some more.
