Both White Men Can't Jump and The Cutting Edge are feel good 90s classics and really did have good acting chemistry
between both movie's leads , I've seen them dozens of times and they always hold up.

This aired 7 years before I was born and I don't think I've seen any of these movies but I still keep watching these videos. Something addictive about them

It’s great watching these in 2023. Great seeing reviews of movies I’ve loved all my life. And as you said, fun even if I’ve never heard of the movie. These guys were legendary.

Because Siskel and Ebert were great and an American institution. It's really too bad that both died young.

White Men Can’t Jump and The Cutting Edge are two of the greatest sports movies ever made. Absolute bonafide classics. I was in love with Moira Kelly for YEARS because of that movie 😅

White Men Can’t Jump - a fun, zippy, original comedy. Wesley and Woody are well-matched and Rosie Perez should have got an Oscar nomination. 👍🏾 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2.

_The Cutting Edge_ is a movie I've seen several times and enjoyed. _White Men Can't Jump_ was worth watching once, but I don't need to see it again.

The Cutting Edge may be formulaic (and of course the idea of turning a hockey player into a figure skate is ridiculous), but it was a fun date movie with solid character development and a satisfying conclusion. It is one of those movies where you stop when you land on it while channel surfing.

I keep hoping someone will post the Higher Learning episode from 1995. I love how snarky Gene is in that review.

Thanks so much for uploading this episode. I've wanted to see the full thing ever since I saw just the White Men Can’t Jump review. Pretty soon, can you upload the full episode that has the "My Cousin Vinny" review?

Great film. Never much of a fan of sports movies (or sports, really), but White Men Can't Jump really isn't one. I enjoyed it.

I agree with Gene I thought Roger was going to give The Cutting Edge a thumbs up, they are confusing sometimes.

yes, cutting edge was not original. in fact, it was based on the taming of the shrew. but so were hundreds of other movies, including the overrated 10 things i hate about you. but the build-up, script, execution/ treatment, music and not over-the-top romance in this movie were great. also, you don't need to be a fan of either sport to appreciate the complexities of mixing 2 totally different yet similar sports and finding a way to make it work. i like it that the romantic highlight in the end was not cringy like so many other romcoms. in fact their final kiss was barely seen as the scene dissolved immediately to the credits. it's a fun movie that still holds up today 8/10

    0:41 A romantic comedy????
ANYWAY…Is there a film that could look more early 90s if it tried?? (I still love it though 😁).

Deathtrap is what convinced me that Christopher Reeve, Michael Caine, and Adam West would have made the greatest slapstick farce team ever. I always thought West's Batman was the greatest farceur performance I've seen from an American performer, and Deathtrap proved that Reeve could keep up with him. Reeve's performance on The Muppet Show also demonstrated his talent in that respect.
Shame we never got that film, but it would have been glorious.
