Nick this my favorite video yet. It's almost all what I picture my life in retirement. A modern new home close to the beach and old city. Perfect day early morning SUP on a gorgeous beach, bike to coffee shop in Historic Old Town. Just add a great fresh seafood dinner at an amazing local restaurant with Portuguese 🍷, back home watching sunset from the apartment. Oh and a shot of Ginga for my sister in law. 😊 Keep up the great work! We appreciate all your efforts.
Heheh, I wish we could have thrown in a meal, but... COVID has closed all our restaurants. I was pretty happy to get my first proper coffee in months 😁 I can't wait to go out and film a few meals in some awesome restaurants and also some great weekend getaways I have lined up.
The stand up paddle boarding tour(s) looks absolutely amazing. So serene. Smashing apartment, very jet set crowd 😉 I agree with coffee shop Brenden, Lagos has a different vibe than other Algarve towns, very laid back. Such a great town! Glad to see you are surviving the Covid lock downs, and are able to get out and about. Thank you for another great video, Nick 👍
Great episode Nick, I'm now an avid watcher of your channel, I've been to the Algarve a few times...This is now my go-to destination for us emigrating from the UK. Keep up the great work in such a great country (hopefully, I'll be there soon)
I'm from the north of Portugal and Lagos is my favourite city to visit on holidays in Algarve, almost every single year l visit the city, it has the best beaches in Portugal in my opinion
Hey Hilary, Happy Easter to you and your family too. Monday is going to be better, it's going to open up a lot more thankfully. We've been so good for so long.
I love the music you played during your paddle board experience. I thought I wanted to buy a house, but the apartment you toured alters my thoughts on that. It's great, it's perfect! Price range is good. Really appreciate your videos as a guide to figure out where to live in the Algarve. Thank you Nick!
I'm so doing that when I get there again! Yes, a bit of entertainment in between all the serious stuff is good. Nice to see some of the expats and locals would be good too.
Great video! I was so excited to see you go to Brendan and Jodie’s coffee shop. He’s a great photographer and has a gallery with some awesome photos to sell once they can open the coffee shop fully! Be sure to go back there and check it out . They are really nice people!
@ Take all your negativity away from Nicks channel please ? It doesn’t fit. It’s not necessary. (By way of an excuse for you) ... I’m guessing that the translation of my “nearly froze to death “ missed the fact that it’s an appropriate comment in English! Oh, and if you are unfamiliar with the Algarve, the Western Algarve with high wind speeds and five or six or degrees C, can be “freezing” in Winter!
@ I was tempted to add that Portugal has poor compliance to modern building standards; meaning that, houses here are hard to heat in the winter and expensive to cool in the Summer. But I guess that will enrage you even more, so I won’t do that.
Sunrise sessions club sounds great but i'm bias haha! I just bought an inflatable paddle board it's easy to transport! Loved your video meeting fantastic people enjoying life doing what they enjoy for work and pleasure! Obrigada Nick!
Looking forward to experiencing Lagos. I love the coastline. I do have a question about paddleboards though. Why do they appear much more popular than sea kayaks in Lagos? I've been sea kayaking off the coast of Maine and Lake Champlain in Vermont and love it. With a comfortable seat, you can paddle for 10 miles no problem and store your camping/party supplies in the sealed hatches that get you to your island camping getaway. I've never tried paddleboarding so I assume I'm missing something. When I get to Lagos I'm definitely going to give it a go!
@@AlgarveAddicts I'd like to try it out for the view and possibly surfing small waves but I bet that is much harder than it looks :) Watching other people paddleboard it looks like it takes more effort and they can't move as fast. If rough water rolls in, the round kayak bottom lets you lean into a wave providing good stability. So perhaps the paddleboard is better for short paddles and the sea kayak is better for long-distance camping trips. Was I correct in assuming there are very few sea kayak rentals in Lagos?
Nick makes a great point about the view. I’ll add an observation about cost and practicality. (We have three inflatable SUP’s; the Cheap Decathlon one works as well as the expensive Jobe ones) Its easy to extract them from the car and. Inflate with a 12V pump ( the pump is noisy ) . I couldn’t envisage carrying three sea Kayaks on my car.
Yeah but! 😊 Once you've tried a hard board for racing, touring and surfing you won't go back to an inflatable. Inflatables are still awesome for casual paddle boarders though.
Another great episode! 😍 Thank you for sharing! I looked at these apartments but decided on the Porto do Mós area instead. Fewer high-rise buildings and the beach 🏖 has afternoon sun ☀

Hi Sati, it depends how keen you are on kayaking. You can buy a whole range of them at www.decathlon.pt and yes the conditions are (obviously) variable but can be amazing. The south coast is more sheltered than the west.
Hello Nick! Many thanks for one more new very nice video! 👍 We miss Algarve. Waiting for opening Portugal for tourists. May I ask you a question: what are the best security companies (price/quality) for house security in Algarve in your opinion?
How about this! Paddle boarding is being prescribed by doctors in a city in the UK as part of their mental health services. Mainly on the local canal (not quite Lagos, but still lovely). Another nice vid, Nick. When's the competition to win that apartment going live?
