Terry is right about Watkins. The biggest issue is price AND the fact that he would be leaving Villa who just made the CL. As big as United are, I don't think a 28 year old, off the back of one of his best seasons, who has never played CL football before, is going to give up that chance to play with a rebuild team.

Sesko has only played 1,437 mins played and started from the bench mostly. Divided by 90mins, that's 16 games. 13 goals and 2 assists in 16 games is a great return. He played 30 games, but on average, he played roughly 45min per game. I think for a 20yo striker, that a great return. He'll only get better. He hits the ball well, but he does tend to look down when dribbling. Sesko is like a faster version of Giroud with similar heading ability. Will be dangerous on set pieces and corners for Arsenal.

Although I would love Arsenal to get Isak, there is no concrete information that he wants to leave Newcastle or that they want to sell him. Yes there may be financial issues that means that they have to sell someone to remain within the sustainability rules, but it possibly won’t be him or he will be nearing the £100M price. Whether Arsenal wish to go that high for a striker is questionable. Sesko might be a very good alternative. He’s tall, strong, quite quick and looks a real prospect and the release clause would not scare Arsenal off. Whoever it is I hope the deal is done as quickly as possible to settle the player and squad for preseason.

As an Arsenal fan I would love to have Gyokeres at the club. He seems like the perfect striker for Arteta's system, having the technical qualities of a Jesus, the physicality and awareness of a Havertz AND great finishing to booth. But at ~100 mil I dont think he's the right investment. We need to buy smart, not high. A suitable rotation/challenger for Saka and a successor to Partey are the crucial signings right now. That makes a young striker with potential, such as Sesko, the smart move. Hopefully Havertz can continue to thrive up front.

It’s fair to say when talking transfers it’s a guessing game for the vast majority of pundits. The factors involved are neumerous so it’s hard to put your house on most if not an any of those names speculated about . So Terry I applaud your bravery for trying, that said your comments to ‘firm up ‘ the speculation around the Sesko rumours are somewhat weak given the goals scored tally is factually correct but there must be an element of relativity… Arsenal have a young player that’s scored 30+ goals in their under 18s but that’s youth football and it doesn’t equate to EPL football and neither do many of the other European leagues and it’s fair to say the Austrian league isn’t one of the top five European leagues and the best players from that league tend to end up in the Bundesliga and given Kanes age if Sesko was as good as some think he his wouldn’t he be a ready made replacement for Kane given the age difference?

We have not had a proper striker since RVP ...none of the strikers we signed since had a lethal shot from distance .... Sesko got a great shot and he would get to use it quite frequently if he joins us given the loads we create.

Sesko is 2 footed which works well with balls coming in from both sides, has great burst of speed, clinical, and tall. He’s also cheap which makes it ideal since we’re going in for another midfielder and a winger.
