Port from Sega Model 2 arcade. The game also had a NetLink version for online VS matches, though it was only between Saturn units, not from it to an Arcade machine.

02:00 -- Temjin playthrough
18:14 -- Silver Raiden playthrough (unlockable by pressing Up+L+R and then Start at the title screen), includes the penalty fight vs. Jaguarandi.
39:05 -- Jaguarandi playthrough. Yes, you can play as the penalty fight character, unlockable by doing the same keycode but pressing Down instead of up.
All of them were done on Hard difficulty. I have to be honest, it's pretty beatable even with that setting.

they had the arcade here in chile, it was fucking awesome using the dual-stick. it was expensive, but shit was worth it. I mostly played in the virtual on, sega rally 2 and scud racer machines.
Pretty sure playing this in arcades is what started my love for mecha.

I played this game a lot in my childhood.
It is the first time I see the screen to select JAGUARANDI. This is an amazing screen that can only be seen on the Sega Saturn.

A certain high schooler loved this game so much that he helped saving another world he was stuck in. Using his knowledge of this game, he helped a genius professor inventing a new combat OS for the robots in the global war against the aliens which plagued that world. This combat OS, alongside his other feats, gave 4 decades of fighting chance for humanity.

I used to play this at the arcade when i was 12 years old. I always choose Fei Yen coz she can go SUper Saiyan.

This is the best version period. If I remember correctly, the player with less health had a small speed boost, thus he could chase the other player down and that gave one the sensation that you were getting hunted when you couldn't them on screen, which was exhilarating. Unfortunately, this game felt incomplete to me somehow but the gameplay showed that Sega was simply the best.
Some of the sound effects are shared from some of the Gundam animes

Never beat the last boss, only got a timeout which gives you a bad ending
Depending on the virtuaroid, you'd need to use specific moves when it opens its eye. Typically pressing right turbo + right weapon provides an attack which is otherwise hard to land but deals tons of damage, that and the center weapon.
The safest option for most machines is to use one specific attack while standing still. You can manually trigger the Golden Cannon attack as many as three times in a single round if you do enough damage. Raiden’s Double-Barrel Bazooka Laser would be the easiest example, but Temjin’s Beam Rifle and Viper2’s Homing Shot do LUDICROUS damage to the Gold Cannon boi. You’ll be able to get plenty of good shots in on it too since it has such a large windup, so don’t be afraid to experiment with a few spare credits. (Just be extra careful with Belgdor, Bal-Bas-Bow and maybe Arphamd. Their shots are kinda finicky…)
Or if you have the settings available, you could… y’know… turn off the round timer and set the games to DeathMatch… 😂
