Brad, you would love some of the female singer-songwriters from the '70s. Janis Ian's "At Seventeen" is one I've recommended before and you should definitely listen to that one. Joan Baez with songs like "Diamonds and Rust" (supposedly about her longtime lover Bob Dylan) and Joni Mitchell had tons of great songs such as "Free Man in Paris". Carole King wrote a lot of great songs for others and performed some of her own; probably "Natural Woman" was one of her bigger hits. Lots more, but those are the ones who immediately come to mind.

@@joemachine4714 hmm, they definitely need live. But I honestly like listening to her live at different venues. The TV performances are good but it's not the same. She is like a bucket list artist that I want to see live. But, I'm not sure because Tori has so many different eras to choose from. Maybe boys for pele era, I think Brad would dig that based on his love for Alanis Morissette. And I think Lex would kind of like Chairgirl era. Tori had a lot of good techno remixes at that time. I'm more partial to Scarlets walk era. But yeah don't want to go down Tori rabbit-hole today...lol

I remember it taking me a number of listens to decipher the word "nicotine" w/o lyric help. Sh was aggravating because I wanted to figure it out myself. My mom couldn't figure it either. I remember finally putting 2+2 together while listening on the freeway. It was the coffee that made me think of what goes w/ coffee and voila.

Home or strong enough should be the next Sheryl crow song you listen to.

This was a great CD - I saw her do the entire thing live at a small E3 show at the Beverly Hills hotel. They gave away a CD and gift bag then closed off the dinner lounge and she came out right in front of us and did a whole concert. Fiona has to be NEXT?

“Strong enough” , “Leaving Las Vegas”, “Home” & “All I wanna do” are my choices! I’d love it if you could do the first one though…Brad, you’d love it, I think. 🌟

You should see her cover Led Zeppelin's Rock and Roll live 2002 (God bless America), or cover Lou Reed's Pale Blue Eyes with her mentor, 14 time Grammy winner Emmylou Harris.

I had Why by Avril Lavigne come on my iPod earlier and thought Brad would dig that but it's a lesser known song by her, check her out though. "Complicated" maybe to start?
Also, Paramore, another one worth hearing. "Misery Business"

I really like this song, not too many others by her but I have seen her perform live. EDIT, yes the song was in a Subaru car commercial.
