That day, they were friends. The higher rank officers found out about this and forced them to go back in the trenches and continue to fight and kill each other. The cross you see at the end with the inscription still stands at the location where the Christmas truce took place. The words "Lest We Forget" is a reminder that not forget this event where humanity ruled during war time.
