Pretty cool that it supports 4K and can run games. The seamless connectivity in the Apple ecosystem is a huge bonus!

This update is wild because it's pretty substantial overall (storage doubled, current gen processor, improved cooling, updated remote, HDR10+ support) at a $50 DECREASE... If I had the 2021 model I wouldn't be upgrading however, but as an owner of the 2017 4K model I will definitely be picking one up Friday.
Tv os 16 has hdr10+ support
@@cr.salvatore Only the Apple TV 4K (2022) will have HDR10+. I have an Apple TV 4K (2021) and it does not have HDR10+.

Just gotta say, I’ve been an Apple TV user for many years and I’ve never once thought man, I wish this were more smooth. It’s great to have the faster processor. But if you’re not playing games or something like that, I really can’t imagine being able to tell the difference in day to day use.
Yeah, I bought the last gen and still don’t really see the benefit of it, since I do not play games and I have no need for the storage lol. Cute though, I guess

There might not be a difference in performance for regular use but the colors are more accurate and the content looks way better than in past generations.
Try using an Nvidia Shield the one that's shaped like a tube. You'll take those words back very quickly. That thing is so laggy and unresponsive. It's why I'm looking into this Apple TV.

I updated from the 2017 model and it is MUCH smoother.
The Siri results where it does a universal search and you can play shows off of multiple different apps/networks is a feature that the other reviews didn't tell me about. Wow that is amazing, my smart tv stock apps doesn't even do that. I think I'm sold!

Just wished the upper tier one would support DTS (DTS:X included) & TrueHD audo format. Then I could have one box to rule them all. But for now, it'll continue to be the NVIDIA SHIELD TV Pro (2019) for Plex support and Apple TV 4K (2021) for everything else. Don't see a huge reason to upgrade from that. Also to note the Ethernet is only 1 Gbps, you're better off using the WiFi speeds if you have at least a WiFi 6 router. Once you open the floodgates with your boy, it won't stop haha. I've never thought to check apple tv out since I just got a roku when my smart tv dumbed down due to it being outdated lol. If I was more immersed in the ecosystem, I would buy this.
All I want is a Siri Remote battery indicator. I know they don’t have to be charged that much, but it seems like an easy thing to add in.

In Settings is it possible to change the sample rate on this new model to more than 48 kHz?
What do I need more storage more because if I’m streaming movies from like Hulu and netflix do I really need the 128gb of storage? And will Ethernet instead of wifi really make a huge difference?
How good is the Apple TV support for Ultrawide (21:9) monitors? Do 21:9 movies fill the entire screen or are there black bars?

One big benefit is playing my Movies that are stored on a NAS server, there is an app called Infuse and all my 4k movies are organised and easy to watch on my Projector. Another thing is the picture quality is awesome on my Projector
I can't get past the horrible OS. Everytime that I attempt to use my Applr5TV 4k, I top out after about 1 hour. TVOS sucks.

Hi there. I am writing from India. I've ordered the new Apple TV 4K but I don't have an iPhone. I know I can set up the ATV manually without one. But would it be possible to do the colour calibration using my brother's iPhone 12 PM?
Mine is on preorder. I only use TV apps, my 1st gen 4K box is struggling with 4K Dolby vision/Atmos/HomePod
So upgrade is due now. But I’m only going for 64gb model. Not bothered with thread or Ethernet.
Like I said I only download apps for TV and that’s it. No games. Plus my Eero and HomePod & HP Mini have thread/matter support anyway.
Also! Has anyone noticed the two screws at the bottom of the remote where usb c connector is….I swear they didn’t have that with lightening but can’t say for sure! 😂

I introduced my grandkids to gaming on Apple TV it was great then when I saw that really wanted to game I bought the Xbox or wii or other higher priced games
Hopefully they’ll let us download media directly from our iTunes library to the Apple TV one day.

I made it to the part where you said no USB C cord included they should’ve made the remote wireless charge, and have the Apple TV as a wireless charger so you could put the remote on top of the box to charge the remote while you aren’t using it.
