  • Testing your motorcycle's battery is one of the first things you should tackle when diagnosing mechanical issues with your bike. As an integral part of your bike's starting system, the battery can often be an unsuspecting culprit behind many problems and should always be one of the first things to be tested. Although checking a battery's voltage, there is some nuance to the task depending on whether you have a lithium-ion or lead-acid battery.
In Tech Talk #62, Revival's Lead Mechanic Alec walks us through the three stages of testing your battery's voltage as a benchmark for your battery's health and a starting point for diagnosing issues your bike may be having.
*Please note: The resting voltage for a lithium-ion battery should be between 12.8V - 13.4V, not what Alec stated in the video near timestamp 2:45.
