Hindi is classified as "Indo-European, Indo-Aryan language". I have friends (நெஞ்சுக்கு நெருக்கமானவர்கள் உள்பட) from UP, MP, Bihar, Gujarat, Maharastra, Goa, ..... I communicate in a language which they understand. Greeting them in Marathi, Gujarati etc is fun. A few years ago when I went to a restaurant in chennai, I did not want to speak in Hindi instead I patiently and happily waited for someone who understands Tamil to come and take my order in Tamil.

so proud of you Anandhi. in an entire India where very few talk really about abolishing caste and religious discriminations, you are one of a kind. kudos to you girl. plus bringing the real history of what brahmins did, needs courage. so so proud of you. brahmins today instead of suppressing it, has to accept it and heal others by being inclusive at least now. and realize they are not higher than anyone else.
