Ancillary Mercy, by Ann Leckie (#3 in Imperial Radch) In the Labyrinth of Drakes, by Marie Brennan (#4 in the Memoirs of Lady Trent) Relish, by Lucy Knisley I can't wait to reread them :D
Brandon Sanderson actually has a section on his website where he talks about where to start with his books on his website and has different suggestions for people who do read fantasy and people who haven't read much fantasy. I was told that you could read Warbreaker for free on his website as well! Which is so awesome.
YAS GIRL for We Are The Ants! I've hardly heard anyone talk about this book, but it's really stuck with me throughout the year and is definately in my top books of the year too.
My best reads this year are: We Are The Ants Shades Of Magic Trilogy The Raven Cycle The Art Of Racing In The Rain IT The Universe Versus Alex Woods See You In The Cosmos Air Awakens series Death Note (Manga)
I actually got into Brandon Sanderson's books after watching your videos earlier this year. I had never read anything by him prior to that. I picked up Mistborn and I was hooked. I haven't read Hero of Ages yet, but Final Empire and Well of Ascension were two of my favorite books this year. Thanks for recommending them on your channel!
I’ve been thinking this whole time.. “I know this girl, where have i seen her before”. I just remembered the hours i’ve spent watching your lipstick swatches😂 You have 2 amazing channels, keep it up❤️
* adds all of them to my to-read list * I loved the hero of ages SO MUCH. The finale was mind blowing! Also, I am reading Elantris right now and in my opinion, it had a very slow start which was hard to get into but finally it's suddenly to pick up. So happy to see these books in your list!
I'm so happy that so many Sanderson books were mentioned in there !! I discovered him just this year and have now read seven of his books and plan on reading more, can't get enough ! I agree with everything you said about the Hero of Ages, by the end of the book I was hyperventilating at how amazing it was - mindblowing is really the word. Same goes for Elantris and Warbreaker (Nightblood was definitely the best haha). Definitely recommend BS's books to any fan of worldbuilding and plot twists. Bisous de France :)
i'm so glad i found your channel through the RUclips suggestions. :) you have great taste. the Long walk has been on my radar for a while and i really need to read it in 2018. happy reading!
I have yet to read any Brandon Sanderson novels, though I've heard so many amazing things about them. You're making me want to pick up one of them to read this year!
I enjoyed The Female of the Species so much too! It was my favorite book of this year. So heart-breaking but absolutely life-changing for me too. I LOVE that "boys will be boys, our favorite phrase..." quote from the book.
I'm so reading all of these! I'm starting on Brendan Sanderson's books next year and I'm so excited :D Could you do a video on your favourite book characters and maybe your least favourites?
I have watched all of your most recent videos from this year and last and I am only saying this because you sometimes ask how to say something- your English has gotten better since this video. I can tell a difference. I;m not sure if you've been studying but your already amazing English got even better. I am always jealous that people know multiple languages. You go girl! Also my husband and best friend won't stop talking are Warbreaker so I guess I need to just give in and read it!
Okay you got a new follower right after you said "the long walk" because I just thought like I would definitely chose this one. And yes the endings are often a bit dissapointing but still great storys... Hopefully I will find more horror/thriller books on your channel :)
I agree with you about The Long Walk. That was my first King as well (I read it maybe like 5-6 years ago) and I absolutely loved it. I have since found others of his that I like, but that one still holds a special place in my heart.
I was not nearly as impressed by The Long Walk as you were, I read it a few years ago. I will say though, Station Eleven was by far my favorite book of the year (even tho I just finished it 2 days ago) and the other favorite was Because You’ll Never Meet Me, both of which were on your recommendation. Time to check out Pines and finally some B. Sanderson.
I can't believe you have this books vlog, i thought you're just an make up vlogger. Nice to know you that you also love books. Can i request pls make a top horror/mystery/suspense books? Thanks you so much
You're like one of the only booktubers I've found whose read more than the Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson & I'm so happy bc he's my favorite author of all time!
The Unseen World, Queen of Tearling series, Six of Crows were some of my favorites this year. Need to get to Pines cause I loved Dark Matter and just started Warbreaker based on your recommendation. Happy Holidays! Exciting to see what great books to be read in 2018.
Great video, Emily! Also, total yeay for Sanderson's books! Btw, Sanderson has stated that Mistborn will consist of four trilogy instead of three. It used to be three, but the Wax and Wayne ended up being the second era even though it began as an experimentation. Sooo it will be Mistborn era 1: Medieval-ish Mistborn era 2: Wax and Wayne (finished in 2019) Mistborn era 3: thriller with contemporary-ish setting Mistborn era 4: futuristic sci fi setting As for Warbreaker, I cant wait for the sequels too!! (No idea when they're coming though.. Sanderson it will at least be after 2020) Sorry this ended up being long but it's hard to shut up when i'm talking about his books xD
Yess! Warbreaker is probably my favorite Sanderson book so far (only read the mistborn trilogy and Steelheart though) and am so sad that it's one of his least popular! I read it last year and loved it so much! But for some of my favorite books of this year would be, Godsgrave, The Refrigerator Monologues, and Long Way to a Small Angry Planet. Out of my almost 90 books I read this year, I didn't have many 5 star reads. Kinda of a meh reading year for me too.
The best books I read this year were The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch, The Dragonbone Chair by Tad Williams and The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden. I'm also planning to reread The Name of the Wind which automatically adds it to that list, because it's my favourite book of all time!
I finished the mistborn series so quickly loved those so now I will read the ones you recommended by Brandon Sanderson. Female of the Species was amazing so glad I read it but you are right that one hits deep! I loved the long way to a small and angry planet waiting for the sequel from the library. It reminds me of the show Firefly on Fox. If you haven't seen it you must highly recommend that show! If I could pick two from this year - they would be Clay girl by Heather Tucker - canadian author family and not sci fi at all but so amazing! And The Hate U Give. Both of those left an impression on me! Both character driven and both super well written.
I have been wanting to read A long way to a small and angry planet and warbreaker for awhile, glad to hear you liked them so much, I need to pick them up! My favorite books this year were the Mistborn trilogy, Name of the Wind, Dark Matter (what a crazy book), We are the Ants (so amazing!), The Bear and The Nightingale (because Russian Fairy tales!) and The Watchmaker of Filigree Street (the most quietly beautiful book). Love you videos ;)
I read Long walk because of you and it is indeed good tho I also wanted more of the world. Also already added Pines to my TBR, sounds very interesting!
We are the Ants is one of my favourites too ! It was so good ! My absolute favorite is Heir of Novron of the Riyria Revelations series, but Crooked Kingdom, The Lies of Locke Lamora and Lord of Shadows are in my list ^^
So glad to see The Long Walk on this list! :D In the Brandon Sanderson opus, have you checked out The Emperor's Soul? It's a short novela set in the world of Elantris but a completely separate story, and it's incredible! Highly recommend!
The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet was by far the best book I read all year - I loved everything about it! I adore the characters and the concept is brilliant!
I think the best series i read this year is Peter Brett's Demon Cycle ! I see you already bought the first one, so dig in ! Since you liked The Long Walk, i would recommend The Regulators, and its mirror book, Desperation. First one is still under the Bachman pseudonym , and the other is listed a a Stephen king novel. And they were released AT THE SAME YEAR ! I really liked them both, its a very interesting concept.
I read a few good books this year but none have stuck with me like a book I read December last year called Station Eleven by Emily st. John mendel. I can't remember if it was recommended by you or not but it stuck with me and I still think about it all the time.
Please make a Stephen King book guide video! :D I really want to start reading his books & I think I'll try The Long Walk first! Btw I love watching your videos!
I read The Long Walk based on your recommendation and really liked it. It was the first Stephen King book I completed ( I attempted Carrie when I was 16 and could not get through it). I also just finished Pines because of your recommendation and loved it! I already ordered the second book!!
Steph C I loved The Hate U Give! I had never heard of Piecing Me Together so I just looked it up on Goodreads and now I want to read it so thanks for the recommendation! :)
Get all three in one go! I ordered the last 2 after reading the first one and the third book got lost and took 2 months to arrive... Put me in the worst reading slump!! I didn't care about any other books I just wanted to finish this series 😂
There's actually quite a few books you should read before starting the Dark Tower series so that you get a better appreciation of all the Easter eggs in the series. The main ones being IT, The Stand, Eyes of the Dragon, 'Salem's Lot, and Insomnia. Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head.
I just read the second era mistborn series and LOVED it. Aside from the main stories, seeing how the religions evolved is amaaaazing, and wax and Wayne are great characters.
2016 I started the Mistborn trilogy of Sandereon and in 2017 I have continued with his other books Elantris, Warbreaker, The Way of Kings, Words of Radiance. It still boggles my mind how I finished these last two as they are like a thousand pages each. I will definitely keep reading his books.
Hey there, I totally agree about the Mistworld series, great world and magic system, and I also loved how they answered all their mysteries and questions and wrapped it all up in the end. Have you ever read the The Noble Dead Series by Barb and J.C Hendee? The First book is called Dhampir and the world building is fantastic, The characters are flawed but loveable, there is a little romance through the series but it is not cheesy and is not the main focus of the story. It is one of my favorite fantasy series. For Sci Fi I would love to know if you have read the Species Imperative trilogy by Julie E. Czerneda. The First book is called Survival and I would call it medium core sci fi. There is a little bit of a mystery, the characters are the driving force of the story, but the aliens and technology feel very real and believable. I would love to see your reviews of these books, based on what you have said about other books you have read, I think you might really like them. :) Jess
The best books I read this year are So you want to be a wizard (thanks to you), Daughter of smoke and bone, Uprooted and Darkfever (which I totally recomend you to read)
My fav this year where:Dark Matter, The lies of locke lamora, We are the ants,Acomaf,Morning Star, All our wrongs of today, Little Monsters, it was also a meh year for me, i only read 50 books
I read Pines because you recommended it and it also made it in my Best Books of 2017 video! :D I have yet to read the sequels, I think I've been putting off reading them because I'm worried they might disappoint me after the amazingness that was the first book :P
Yay!! So happy you liked it too, it's a tough one to recommend because of the twist at the end 😂 People will either love it or hate it! You definitely need to continue!
I also loved Female of the Species, it is such a powerful book! Other books that I really liked this year were The Queen of the Tearling trilogy (if you don't like romance, this is one for you!), Night Film and Wonder Woman Warbringer :)
I've read a lot this year, I'm more into Russian literature, so my goal is to read as much as I can 😅 My favorite were ( The adolescent, Demons or The possessed by Fyodor Dostoevsky . The master and Margrita by Mikhail Bulgakov , Dr. Zhivago by Boris Pasternak , His dark materials by Philip Pullman , game of thrones read two of the series so far, Name of the rose by Umberto Eko) there's still left but I can't remember them all .
I really loved both 'The Kiss of Deception' and 'The Heart of Betrayal', I gave them both five stars. 'The Beauty of Darkness' I felt more meh towards. It was more like a stock fantasy finally, when the two other books were, to me, a fresh take on the genre.
There is a fantasy author that I haven't heard anyone mention (it might be because his material is older), but that is Dennis McKiernan. I started with his book DragonDoom and went from there.
My top five favorite books this year, because I can't narrow it down to one (five was hard enough lol), were: I'll Give You the Sun, The Hate U Give, Believe me by Yolanda Foster and the Six of Crows Duology! Honorable mention to We are the Ants recommend by the fabulous Emily ;) *and I just have to add after I saw you mention it in the video, it's totally a Contemporary Book with a tiny hint of Sci-Fi in my opinion - which I happen to love*
I need to read the Grisha trilogy in the New Year. My hopes aren’t super high for it but I still want to read about the Grisha universe. And Language of Thorns too! They’re sitting on my shelf waiting for me to get out of my reading slump ;)
BookswithEmilyFox so try to go in with low expectations and you’ll be blown away! 😂 I really think you’ll like them but there isn’t as much of a magical twist to them that I’m assuming the Grisha trilogy had. I might be wrong about that. I honestly think you’ll like them but since you’re more into high fantasy (is that what you would call it?) then you might not totally get the hype. Though I secretly hope you do lol... Now that I’ve messed with your head you’ll have no idea what to expect. You’re welcome 😜
Best readings of 2017: The Name of the Rose (Umberto Eco); Voices from Chernóbyl (Svetlana Aleksievitch); Animal Farm (George Orwell); Catherine, the great (Robert K. Massie); Crime and Punishment (Dostoiévski); Wuthering Heights ( Emily Bronte); The Magic Mountain (Thomas Mann); 1984 (George Orwell); Stoner (John Williams); Steppenwolf ( Hermann Hesse)
I don’t know if you’ve read it or not yet but if you enjoyed The First Fifteen Lives if Harry August you might also like Life After Life by Kate Atkinson. It’s a similar premise, with living a life over and over again, and I really enjoyed both of them!
My two faves were Something Wicked this Way Comes by Ray Bradbury and The Devil of Nanking by Mo Hayder! The latter is especially shocking and upsetting but in a good way 😊
Hey Emily! I watch your beauty videos and book reviews too. I recommend you read “And the mountains echoed” and “ The kite runner”. I haven’t seen you mentioned them ...you might enjoy it
I strongly recommend you to read Moxie by Jennifer Mathieu. It was truly a life changer. I'm currently reading The Female of the Species right now. Both of these books tackle the same issues so I think you will love Moxie a lot.
But Emily why didn't you include Attachments?! I know its your favorite LOL! :P The best books I read this year were probably The Remnant Chronicles, We Are the Ants, and More Than This by Patrick Ness. I also just finished The Knife of Never Letting Go by him and really liked that too!
yay for stephen king! I always recommend 11/22/63 by stephen king who are relatively brand new to him. It is long but it is very good. Also a good ending so you can go into it knowing it will pay off.
If you like the getting a second chance at life premise, I would rec HOLY FIRE by Bruce Sterling. Follows an older woman who undergoes a procedure that turns her back into a teenager. Lots of cyberpunk elements
Some of my favorites that I read this year: Crooked Kingdom A Long way to a small, angry planet & a close and common orbit. i had so many feelings with these books! dark matter warbringer gwendy's button box- by stephen king & Richard Chizmar. it's a novella but it was FANTASTIC!! stillhouse lake & its sequel Killman's Creek by Rachel Caine. an adult thriller. a woman was married to a serial killer, and didn't know it. a car hits her garage and her life is turned upside down when a body is found in it. she's tried as an accessory, found not guilty, and is on the run once her husband escapes prison. i was up till 3am both times to finish the books.
I've been mainly a fantasy reader for most of my life but I've been wanting to branch out. Your tastes seem to span multiple genres. How do you find the books you read?
I've been wondering since you're usually not really into romances what would you think of doing a video on romances you actually really liked? It doesn't have the be the genre romance or contemporary, just books with a good story where the romance isn't cheesy or cringy and actually sweet and nice to read about
What are the best books you've read this year? :D
Pines Trilogy is one of my favorites! Keep the reviews coming! I find your recommendations to be spot on with my tastes in reading. Thanks!
Dark Matter 👌
The Mortal Instruments #5, the entiere lux series and Beautiful Disaster
Ancillary Mercy, by Ann Leckie (#3 in Imperial Radch)
In the Labyrinth of Drakes, by Marie Brennan (#4 in the Memoirs of Lady Trent)
Relish, by Lucy Knisley
I can't wait to reread them :D
BookswithEmilyFox The City Of Brass.
Brandon Sanderson actually has a section on his website where he talks about where to start with his books on his website and has different suggestions for people who do read fantasy and people who haven't read much fantasy. I was told that you could read Warbreaker for free on his website as well! Which is so awesome.
Didn't know that but it's awesome ! Thanks for sharing :D
YAS GIRL for We Are The Ants! I've hardly heard anyone talk about this book, but it's really stuck with me throughout the year and is definately in my top books of the year too.
My best reads this year are:
We Are The Ants
Shades Of Magic Trilogy
The Raven Cycle
The Art Of Racing In The Rain
IT
The Universe Versus Alex Woods
See You In The Cosmos
Air Awakens series
Death Note (Manga)
Video ideas for the end of the year series : most anticipated books of 2018, favourite book covers of 2017
I've already filmed one for the most anticipated books of 2018 actually! :)
The ending of the last one will blow your mind!!! :D
I’ve been thinking this whole time.. “I know this girl, where have i seen her before”. I just remembered the hours i’ve spent watching your lipstick swatches😂 You have 2 amazing channels, keep it up❤️
😂❤️
* adds all of them to my to-read list *
I loved the hero of ages SO MUCH.

I'm so glad you're back I love your videos! ❤️
I have yet to read any Brandon Sanderson novels, though I've heard so many amazing things about them. You're making me want to pick up one of them to read this year!
Dare I say you’re my first new favourite booktuber of 2017? It’s refreshing to see someone who actually reads fairly proportionally to hauling books!
I enjoyed The Female of the Species so much too! It was my favorite book of this year. So heart-breaking but absolutely life-changing for me too. I LOVE that "boys will be boys, our favorite phrase..." quote from the book.
You & your channel has encouraged me to read more! My New Years Resolution is usually to read more, but lately I've been following through with it!
I'm so reading all of these! I'm starting on Brendan Sanderson's books next year and I'm so excited :D
Could you do a video on your favourite book characters and maybe your least favourites?
I'm planning one my most hated characters!
I have watched all of your most recent videos from this year and last and I am only saying this because you sometimes ask how to say something- your English has gotten better since this video. You won my heart with the Sanderson love, We Are the Ants, and The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet. I LOVE those books and LOVE your tastes ❤️

His other books are just as good if not better!
Thanks for the recommendations! Just added Warbreaker and Pines to my TBR since you made them sound so interesting!
I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I did :D

OMG you just made my day!! The more books from him the better :D
I'm SO excited to read Elantris and continue on with the Cosmere! I just started Way of kings and I am both excited and terrified by how big it is 😅
OMG! I squeaked like a little seagull when you mentioned The Long Walk because it was my first Stephen King book too and I absolutely loved it! YAY!
So underrated!
Yess! Warbreaker is probably my favorite Sanderson book so far (only read the mistborn trilogy and Steelheart though) and am so sad that it's one of his least popular! I read it last year and loved it so much!

I read Long walk because of you and it is indeed good tho I also wanted more of the world. Also already added Pines to my TBR, sounds very interesting!
I love, love, love that you mentioned Becky Chambers. It’s very underrated.
I SO agree that Stephen King's endings aren't good
We are the Ants is one of my favourites too ! It was so good ! My absolute favorite is Heir of Novron of the Riyria Revelations series, but Crooked Kingdom, The Lies of Locke Lamora and Lord of Shadows are in my list ^^
Yay I'm so excited! I've been waiting for this video legit all year because I feel we have the same reading taste so I get whatever you love 😂
So glad to see The Long Walk on this list! :D
In the Brandon Sanderson opus, have you checked out The Emperor's Soul? It's a short novela set in the world of Elantris but a completely separate story, and it's incredible! Highly recommend!
I haven't read the novellas yet!
I love this series of videos! Always love your reviews
Best I read this year- Mistborn, Strange the Dreamer, The Hate U Give, the Radium Girls, Now I Rise, The Bear and the Nightingale.
I've been meaning to read Strange the Dreamer! Is it has good as everyone says? :)
BookswithEmilyFox Yes! Or at least I think it is. I’m a big fan of Laini Taylor.
The Long Way to a Small Angry Planet was by far the best book I read all year - I loved everything about it! I adore the characters and the concept is brilliant!

That has really stuck with me, too. Almost time for a reread :)
Almost done the beauty of darkness and it's for sure my favorite trilogy this year! Thanks for recommending it:)
So happy you're loving it too!
So happy you enjoyed them too :D
What the heck Emily...I totally expected you to include The Selection in this video! lol ;)
I thought about it... but I didn't want to repeat myself from the other videos :P
Been waiting for this video forever
Hero of The Ages is one of my favourite fantasy books ever! Really looking forward to reading Elantris ☺️
I don't know how he does it! He keeps creating amazing worlds and magic systems! Hope you'll like it!
I remember reading The Long Walk a couple plus decades ago, and I totally agree...I was exhausted reading it!
The Hate U Give, Piecing Me Together, and Call Me By Your Name, were the best books I have read this year.
Steph C I loved The Hate U Give! I had never heard of Piecing Me Together so I just looked it up on Goodreads and now I want to read it so thanks for the recommendation! :)
MokaTutu your welcome, I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did.
Steph C I loved the hate you give.
Wayword Pines is a book?!?! HELL YES *runs off to library*
Get all three in one go! I ordered the last 2 after reading the first one and the third book got lost and took 2 months to arrive... Put me in the worst reading slump!!
I didn't care about any other books I just wanted to finish this series 😂

It's more recent! Glad you found it :)
Jess
Hey ,in your opinion what is an adequate age to read Stephen King
Favorite Books this year: Caraval by Stephanie Gerber, and two by Leigh Bardugo - Crooked Kingdom and The Language of Thorns
I really need to read The Long Walk! It sounds so dark. Plus I really love Harry Potter so those short stories are a must for me!
The best books I read this year are So you want to be a wizard (thanks to you), Daughter of smoke and bone, Uprooted and Darkfever (which I totally recomend you to read)
Yay! We are the ants!! Love that one!
YES LOVE FEMALE OF THE SPECIES
My fav this year where:Dark Matter, The lies of locke lamora, We are the ants,Acomaf,Morning Star, All our wrongs of today, Little Monsters, it was also a meh year for me, i only read 50 books
50 is awesome!! I really want to read All Our Wrongs Today and The Lies of Locke Lamora next year!! :D
I read Pines and Dark Matter this year and I really enjoyed them :D Been recommending them to friends and colleagues as well.
The more I watch your videos the more I realize we have very similar taste in books. So it sounds like I should pick up some Brandon Sanderson soon!
Book and makeup game ON POINT!
Brandon Sanderson is definitely someone I want to start reading from in 2018! I'm very excited
Yay ! :D
You'll have to tell me which books you read and let me know how it goes!!
Thanks to you i have just finished the warbreaker and it was truly amazing i have been intimidated by Brandons books but now i want them all
I read Pines because you recommended it and it also made it in my Best Books of 2017 video!
I'm planning on reading the Queen of the Tearling books next year! Can't wait :D
I've read a lot this year, I'm more into Russian literature, so my goal is to read as much as I can 😅
My favorite were ( The adolescent, Demons or The possessed by Fyodor Dostoevsky .
Oh wow I started a few weeks ago by reading the way of kings. Straight in at the deep end lol. Im obsessed with Sanderson now though, he's amazing!
I'm keeping that series for last!! I don't want to wait for the next 6 books on the series :P
Great suggestions! Lots to add to my tbr. Thank you
Hope you'll love them too!
There is a fantasy author that I haven't heard anyone mention (it might be because his material is older), but that is Dennis McKiernan. I started with his book DragonDoom and went from there.
The female of the species sounds really good!
So many good ones! I'm planning on reading Six of Crows next year since I finally finished the Grisha trilogy! I can't wait :D
BookswithEmilyFox I hope it doesn’t end up in your “overhyped” videos lol!! 😜 Can’t wait to hear what you think though!
I need to read the Grisha trilogy in the New Year. My hopes aren’t super high for it but I still want to read about the Grisha universe. And Language of Thorns too! They’re sitting on my shelf waiting for me to get out of my reading slump ;)
I’m scared it will 😂
I liked the first book in the Grisha trilogy! I had low expectations since everyone kept saying it was bad. The rest was okay :/
Oh my! You make me want read Brandon Sanderson!!
My favorite Stephan King book is Needful Things, it's a long one but definitely worth it ♡
It's definitely on my list!
Can you make a video of your 2018 reading goals
There's one going up end of December! My 2017 Reading Wrap Up & 1018 Goals :)
The long walk and the first fifteen lives of Harry august are two of my favourite books of all time :,,,))
They're so good and I don't hear people mention them!!
Devils Within by S.F. Henson is such a great winter read! It's such a page turner I couldn't put it down!
Funny you mention that.. I just picked it up during my last library sale :D
Thank you SO much for this vid ! Definitely interesting picks for sure
My two faves were Something Wicked this Way Comes by Ray Bradbury and The Devil of Nanking by Mo Hayder! The latter is especially shocking and upsetting but in a good way 😊
Oh I started The Devil of Nanking during the fall but I had read too many thriller/horror so I put it down for now... I need to finish it!
Both of these books tackle the same issues so I think you will love Moxie a lot.
first book channel I subscribed to; something new for me.
But Emily why didn't you include Attachments?! I know its your favorite LOL! :P The best books I read this year were probably The Remnant Chronicles, We Are the Ants, and More Than This by Patrick Ness. I also just finished The Knife of Never Letting Go by him and really liked that too!
I mention it too often... needed a break :P
I need to read The Knife of Never Letting Go!
BookswithEmilyFox Just a warning I was not prepared for how emotional part of it is! But it really was quite good! :)
I highly suggest Life After Life by Kate Atkinson since you enjoy stories involving reliving the characters day or life!
I got it this month at my library sale! :D
I have a question... What is considered a quick read for someone that has read many books before?
yay for stephen king! I always recommend 11/22/63 by stephen king who are relatively brand new to him. It is long but it is very good. Also a good ending so you can go into it knowing it will pay off.
you need to reed misery, i feel like is the best book from SK!
If you like the getting a second chance at life premise, I would rec HOLY FIRE by Bruce Sterling. Follows an older woman who undergoes a procedure that turns her back into a teenager. Lots of cyberpunk elements
Some of my favorites that I read this year:
Crooked Kingdom
A Long way to a small, angry planet & a close and common orbit. i had so many feelings with these books!
dark matter
warbringer
gwendy's button box- by stephen king & Richard Chizmar. it's a novella but it was FANTASTIC!!
stillhouse lake & its sequel Killman's Creek by Rachel Caine. an adult thriller. a woman was married to a serial killer, and didn't know it. a car hits her garage and her life is turned upside down when a body is found in it. she's tried as an accessory, found not guilty, and is on the run once her husband escapes prison. i was up till 3am both times to finish the books.
I've been mainly a fantasy reader for most of my life but I've been wanting to branch out. Your tastes seem to span multiple genres. How do you find the books you read?
I've been wondering since you're usually not really into romances what would you think of doing a video on romances you actually really liked? It doesn't have the be the genre romance or contemporary, just books with a good story where the romance isn't cheesy or cringy and actually sweet and nice to read about
So far there are only 2 series... some might still definitely find them cheesy!
The Remnant Chronicles and The Winner's Curse
