Rudd blamed Earnhardt for "not looking where he was going" and wrecking him on pit road. The 3 did come over a but the 5 was in the middle and turned toward the 3. My opinion is that's on the 5.

Rusty and that team were as dominant as anyone has ever been. He would have run away with the 1993 championship if he was wrecked at Talladega back in April. He broke his left wrist in that wreck and had to wear a cast. He had a string of bad runs right after that wreck due to have to wear a cast on his left arm. Had that wreck not injured his wrist Rusty would have won the Cup that year by a land slide. In 1994 he should have won it but had some bad runs that were just bad luck. Rusty should really have 3 Cups...1988, 1989, 1993. A 4th Cup possibility in 1994 but 3 for sure. Then end of 1994 the Parrots's all got offers and left. My opinion, 1995 was the beginning of Rusty's down time due to have Pemberton there...I never thought he was that good of a crew chief. Had the Parrot's stayed Rusty may have won or been able to race for more titles. Dale Jarrett won his races and Cup cause Todd went to Yates in 1995.

    • @sicfrynut

i was at the race and the air temperature dropped about 5 minutes before his car started going away on him as well. i was thinking he was going to win or have a very good chance at it, but once it got cooler out and he started going backwards that was all she wrote on the win streak. jack roush never seem to catch on about upgrading the pit crew as did rusty wallace and dale earnhardt and robert yates. then ray evernham brought in the warriors. mark's pit crew especially Steve Hmiel, would always seem to cost him several spots and/or races do to basic idiocy or mistakes. like you said, always something.
