The MDA Labor Day Telethon was an enchanting yearly variety show that ran for half a century. Hosted for many years by Jerry Lewis, the telethon featured top stars from the world of music, comedy, and Broadway and was like no other show on earth.
The telethon was created to help support the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which is leading the fight against muscular dystrophy. MDA dedicates itself to strength, independence and life. To learn more about MDA and to donate, please visit www.MDA.org.

Small detail: this song is titled "Le Gusta" and was sung by Carmen Miranda, she of the fruit hats. : o) She doesn't say "Cuchi" at all in this video, which is what I was looking for. Hard to find anymore. PS: Charo is performing tonight at Carnegie Hall in NYC. Tribute to Barry Manilow, just found out an hour ago.

I was on a plane to Hawaii and was speaking kindly to the woman next to me. Another guy on the plane near me said, "She is mine". Anyhow, once in Hawaii she took me on a big ship tour. After that she took me to see Charo. " Cuchi Cuchi ". We were told that there is no seats available. Then this woman provided tons of cash. We ended up in seats that were less than two feet away from Charo. Yes this woman I had encountered on the plane, was a millionaire. I will never forget how Charo looked at me. She knew there was something bigger at hand. But that is another story.
