  • Kirstie Alley's family has revealed that she died after a brief battle with colon cancer. A statement says she had only “recently discovered” the disease. Colon cancer is known as a “silent killer,” because symptoms often take longer to present themselves than in other types of cancer.

My sister in law is only 39 and was getting abdominal pain. She went to er and they said just indigestion and sent her home with antacids. A few months later she went back to er with same pain but this time it was more severe and after they did tests they told her right in emergency room that she had cancer and they told her to make appointment at cancer center that week. They were able to cut out the cancer in her colon but she was diagnosed with stage 4 since the cancer spread to her liver and they explained with liver cancer that there isn’t much they can do. This all just happened in July and she had two small kids and a single mom. My heart breaks for her. She started chemo and meds to try and make the liver cancer stop growing or spreading but the drs say she will be on chemo the rest of her life and the meds make her so sick and tired it’s hard for her to enjoy what time she has left. Please pray for her healing.

I lost a cousin Sept of 21 from colon cancer, she was 45yrs old. She kept going to the urgent care over and over again due to pain in her back and her legs. The doctor's kept telling her that there was nothing wrong with her, that it was all in her head!
They finally figured out she had colon cancer after her fighting with the doctors for about 3 months. Once she was diagnosed, she passed away 3 months later.
RIP Mystical, I miss you so much cousin!
Just received news last week that another cousin was diagnosed with colon cancer. She lives out of state and we're not really close but I guess they performed surgery on her immediately once the doctors got her test results back. She's in her early 40s, not sure what God's plans are but please keep her (Amber) in your prayers 💔😞🙏

She said the Dr said it was fine. Then it became painful and again it was nothing. Then it grew she begged to get it checked and after so much fighting she has cancer and only weeks to live. It made me so mad because during lunch she would eat healthy all the time and be healthy. It's so sad she died quickly once she found out. She wasn't that old possibly 58 to maybe 60. You may get familiar with the best diet to avoid colon cancer. Never smoke and only drink in moderation and in terms of diet, it is usually suggested to stick to vegetables and fruits. Meat ? not so much and there is another little issue, not to get overweight. These are simple rules to avoid any and all cancers. Exercise and stay healthy.......You are getting a lot of colonoscopies.. WoW ! Check out a book by Dr.Bruce Lipton who has discovered through his studies, that the genes are taking the blame, when in fact, we can change them, with the thinking process. His books are on Amazon. Fascinating and purely scientific. Not likely our common doctors ever heard of Dr. Lipton's findings. They may not agree with his research. Does not hurt to look it up.

My doctor removed 9 polyps all benign which not only shocked me but really scared me because I had no problems with my bowels prior to the test. I feel like I was truly lucky and who knows what might have been if I had waited any longer. To anybody whose scared of getting a colonoscopy, don’t be, it was painless and it was over before I even knew they started, but what wouldn’t of been painless is the diagnosis of cancer, so DON’T WAIT!

Anyone with relatives die from colon cancer at 45 or later should have their own test on 10 years earlier. That would mean they need their colonoscopy at 35 not 45. When you have someone in the family that dies of colon cancer earlier than 45, insurance companies will usually always pay for the colonoscopy. My cousin died at 39 we all got checked immediately no matter what our ages were. Now my nephew has it at 50, he was a veteran and could have gotten the test through the VA early but thought that his signs was something different than colon cancer. Colonoscopies are such an easy thing nowadays please everyone take care of yourselves get it done.

In order for the USA to do that they have to admit they are wrong for allowing all of the additives in our food. The food manufacturers lobby billions of dollars a year to encourage the politicians to turn a blind eye. The rich know and that’s why everything they eat is organic or minimally processed. The food manufacturers also spend millions on food science to see how the masses enjoy their food. People do not eat for nutrition, they eat for pleasure. The textures and flavors are behind our purchases at the store. The food manufacturers also spend millions on MARKETING…. The louder the package the better odds the product has of becoming an addiction.
The reason disease is skyrocketing is because the diet is artificial! Nothing about the modern diet is good for us. Different types of sugar, food coloring, preservatives, flavoring that is there trick our senses, and all the fats. Americans have lazy mouths too they crave fat in their food because it aids in extra moisture. If there isn’t a lot of fat the first thing they say is…. “It’s too dry.”
In order for us to get better we have to acknowledge the bs without making excuses for it. My family teases me for eating clean foods but when I say I’d rather eat XYZ rather than Cheetos, McDonald’s, Oreos, etc… they say “bs is in everything!”
That’s a lie. Read the packages and change your diet habits. It’s not easy because we’re conditioned to eat sugar and fats from birth but it’s doable and it’s not more expensive either. It’s just more work.

Just go and have the colonoscopy. I have gone a few times. They always find polyps. But they’re benign. They still remove them. It’s like talking a melon ball kitchen tool and just scooping the polyp out. It’s completely painless. They give you a twilight sedative. I wake up feeling remarkable. It’s over! Then go out for a light breakfast. The only thing that’s a pain is the prep work. Just drinking all that fiber mixed with Gatorade. Not eating much that day only a small light breakfast. Some like beverages, broth. Just keep yourself busy that day. Clean your house. Make phone calls, write letters. Before you know it it’s over and it’s so worth it. God bless everyone.

Not so sure doctors know what is right. My sister had a colonoscopy at around 64 and went back for a routine 10 years later. They "found cancer" and did surgery the next day. She died about a year later. She had no known symptoms and we have no family history of colon cancer. Or any cancer for that matter, other than skin from being at the beach too much. After her surgery she seemed fine, but deep down I knew it was bad. They told me there was a "suspect" lymph node on an artery they couldn't remove. I knew it was her death sentence. We packed in an amazing multi-state, multi-city vacation and a cruise before she died and I will always be grateful for those memories, but the doctors were very vague and kind of left her in the dark.

My sister had a different experience with the prep work. She did not puke any liquid at all. I puked 2 times. One thing I learned do not drink it too fast and maybe I will not puke next time. I was really bloated for a while. My endoscopy I felt like I was not alive when I went under. I went under for the colonoscopy and I still felt alive. I was dreaming I was invisible and was flying around a beach. I did not feel any pain when I was under. After the procedure I had stomach pain that went away in a couple of days. I had a benign polyp taken out. My butt was sore off and on. Worth going through pain to save my life.

He had a clear colonoscopy, but on his next 5-year check, he had cancer. Because of his death I am on an every 3 year schedule. But I will be doing stool tests in between because yeah…they say you can go 5 years between clear colonoscopies because it’s a slow-growing cancer. Well it is NOT 5 years slow - that much I know for sure, and I will take no chances. My dad had to have surgery, there was a complication and he ended up with an ostomy bag for the remainder of his life. The cancer spread to his liver, where it returned with a vengeance no matter what treatment we threw at it. The chemo nearly killed him and after it took his mobility and put him in a wheelchair, he stopped treating. Before cancer, my dad was strong and healthy, and took no medications!! Please don’t let fear or embarrassment stop you from going for your testing. It truly can save your life. By the time you have the symptoms you are looking at possibilities like surgery, followed by chemotherapy, steroids, radiation. It travels - by the time those symptoms appear, it could be in your liver or other organs already. The colonoscopies are in fact way more important - you get polyps removed before they can become cancerous. This is why the big push to inform people…it’s just truly that important. My dad died from this cancer and nothing we did would stop it’s recurrence. There is no “cure.” I would get the colonoscopy every year if my insurance allowed 🤣 Get me a punch card, BOGO, refer-a-friend special….I’m in.

Testing is NOT the best thing you can do people - the best thing you can do is CHANGE YOUR DIET. Eliminate all sugars, all simple carbohydrates and starches, all margarines and seed oils, all fast/junk food. Yes, the problem is the standard American diet (SAD). THAT'S why younger people are getting this and every other problem! EAT REAL FOOD. Get out in the sun and fresh air, have fun and laugh with friends and loved ones. Get some good sleep. Research fasting - start by ditching breakfast (the least important meal of the day). And make your own sauerkraut !!!

There’s several diseases that don’t present themselves until the person dies. Or past the point of any life saving measures being successful. A major myocardial infarction is sometimes the first symptom of heart disease. So, death is your warning sign to stop eating crap foods. Cardiovascular disease is definitely considered a silent killer. Ovarian cancer is often found too late for any intervention. Colon cancer is treatable if caught early enough. There’s screenings for colon health. Heck, they’ve even devised an at home prescreen test. Yep, gotta pack your poo to send off for analysis. It’s hard to keep up maintenance with our bodies. Especially growing older and having to advocate for yourself? While being sick as heck? The pandemic really hit some folks hard that had other ailments besides covid going on during the lockdown. It hit me. War triage was going on during the height of the pandemic. Here’s what I got.. Hey, ya gotta bad hip? It kin wait. Ya gotta kidney stone lodged in your ureter? Take these pills and a sieve. Go pass it at home. What!? Oh but no. I started making lotsa phone calls to git r dun. And I did. Two surgeries back to back basically. That’s when I realized how important patent advocacy is. Especially with pain management! Docs don’t wanna prescribe narcotic pain pills. They act as if I single-handedly caused the opioid crisis in the United States. No lie! My surgeon actually gave me a lecture about the dangers of taking opioids for pain. Telling me to take a Tylenol fgs! I don’t even use Tylenol for anything! Doesn’t work for me. Doctors! They just wanna prescribe meds and be done with you.
