Man that's beautiful, the long hours you've put in are worth the result. With your attention to detail and high standards, a week was never going to be enough. Walnut draw fronts are gorgeous. Lovely work as always.

Thanks! I sure did underestimate the time, but I'm delighted with the result. The walnut sure is the cherry on top for me too. Luckily I still have a lump of it back home in Ireland!

I see now. You used footage from when you were still in your old shop! Very nice.

Yes indeed. That was part of the delay getting this out, my recordings were a mess! Between that and prioritising other things, it just got put off forever... I'm happy to have it out now for sure!

Was that first song clip “bittersweet” by polyphia!? That’s my favorite band of all time. Fantastic work by the way

It actually is, although I didn't realise. It's a clip from a demo of one of my guitars from last year, I thought my buddy had written it! Oops

Nice build Sir!! Fitting the tools into their own little home is always my favourite part of jobs like this :)
Quick question; when you were home in Ireland (im a fellow Irishman) were you able to source exotic or figured woods here??? I used to get mine from England in the past, but none of my previous sources will ship to Ireland any longer. I need to find an Irish source for a hobbyist like myself :)

Wood sourcing in Ireland was a giant pain in the butt! I had a couple guys around that had milling operations of varying sizes and they were the best bets. It was only really natives that I could find though, and rarely anything with good figure. One guy was an acoustic instrument builder though and he did have a few interesting pieces whenever I visited. He sells through adverts, if you search for wood slabs you should find him. Steve is the name.

@@AwenLutherieCustomGuitarsIt is indeed hard to find figured woods here, I'd nearly even call it "painful" 😂 Spalted Beech or Flamed Beech appears now and then, but that's kind of the extent to what I can find..... and exotics just dont exist here to my knowledge. I dont make instruments, I mainly build small cabinets or boxes.... but I think I'm gonna have to change the style in which I build things and not make them with figured or exotic accents. This vexes me 🤦‍♂️😂
Thanks for your reply Sir..... il have a gander for that Steve lad 😁

What is the small plane you are using at 28:31? Lovely video.

That is a small luthier's thumb plane. That particular one is actually from Ebay. Very nice brass with a wooden infill and a flat sole on it. it needed work when I got it, but it's now a beautiful tool to use! Thanks for checking out the video
