“The devil only tempts you because he knows and fears that you have the potential of becoming a mighty soldier of God” Just keep praying, staying in the Word, putting on the armour of God and walking in the spirit. We can do all things through Him who strengthens us.
Pray. Rebuke sinful thoughts. Don't watch ungodly shows and movies ( it's mostly trash anyway with the exception of Nat Geo and cooking shows) If you have to cut off sinful friends and family then do so. I had to repent for a sin I could've avoided because I didn't consistently rebuke my thoughts and I was feeding my lust with webcam models and porn. We have to take responsibility for our actions. The devil didn't make me do it but he did use my thoughts to tempt me. Sister be encouraged and pray. Talk to the Father. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you safeguard your mind and for discipline. The Battle has already been won.
Good Sheep... Try to think of gossip this way, Fam... it's "character assassination" & we know who came to kill, steal & destroy. We belong to the Lifegiver & we represent Him. So, instead of murdering someone's reputation... we should speak edifying words. I recommend downloading “I am sober” app. It usually helps. Also try to be with other believers more. Therapy could help as well! Pray to Jesus and ask Him to set you free, He will free you!
I just gave in and fell into sexual temptation, I prayed to God for forgiveness and told him how I kept giving in and convinving myself that it isnt a sin. He might have sent this video to me as a sign and a solution to help me overcome my lustful desires. Thank you brother Allen 🙏💖💖💖
It's human nature to be tempted, however as Christians, we act on them knowing they are just temptation. Walk away from the void of it. That's why i said "follow truth" there are many alternatives on truth.
The most encouraging part of this story is how it ends. “Then the devil went away, and angels came and took care of Jesus.” Brothers and sisters, don’t feel like this is something you will have to deal with forever. Resist the devil and he will flee. Put on the body armor and you will be equipped to defeat him. We got this! He’s already defeated!

i am not struggling with sexual temptation rn, but with procrastination. I can't find motivation to study, and I keep on just doing things that won't help me in anyway. I have a lot of works to pass, but I got sick today so I can't work on it. I cried to the Lord about my cares, then this video popped in my notifications. Truly, God knows our struggles, and He will not just let us drown with it.

Yup! Spiritual growth happens when we don’t rely on our own strength, but repeatedly rely on god that he will provide us a way out of that temptation, and we have to allow god to push us through even when all of our flesh wants to give in. It will hurt your flesh but that’s the way it needs to be when we rely on the lords strength.
A pastor once explained sin in a way I've never forgotten. When temptation enters our mind if we see it and turn away from it, that is not sinning. We sin when we look back and think upon it,fantasize about it in our minds even if we haven't yet physically acted upon it, in our mind we've already sinned. I've had some brutal temptations to yield to habitual sin lately. My solution? Pray for someone every time I'm tempted! Nothing takes the edge off of temptation like focusing on someone else's needs. Pray for your pastor, his wife, his children. Pray for the marriages in your church. Pray for your relationships and the people you love. Satan isn't going to want to hit you in those soft spots if your retaliation is to pray for other people. Of course you always need to be in the Word and praying for God's strength all the time (since we never know when temptation will come) but this has really helped for me. And it's benefiting those around me!
Temptation was sooo strong yesterday and I was soo close about giving in but the Holy Spirit was working harder and I was able to fight it off. I also read Galatians 5: 16-17 this morning: “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. This has been very difficult. Right after I come off a fast & get really serious with god. Stopped drinking and smoking weed for 5 months almost every ex has come out the woodworks. I’ve been having every temptation thrown at me within the last week & I’ve already fallen once over the weekend. I just started blocking emails. People from your past will find out ways to reach out when they can’t call you. Pray for me please 🙏🏾🙏🏾
It's tricky to resist indeed; that's why you need to avoid anything that triggers it for as much as possible. In my experience, the slightest misstep is all it takes to stuff up.
I really needed this. Today I made the mistake of lashing out at my brother whom I’m also trying to share the gospel with and praying he gets saved. He told me he didn’t know how he was supposed to look up to me anymore. Felt like the biggest kick in the gut I’ve ever received. Please pray for me to change and look more and more like Christ and that nothing comes in the way of my family knowing the Lord.
Family as well as friends sometimes is turned off by the truth. It causes them to see the weaknesses of themselves and they don't like that. I just pray for them regularly and consistently be a Christ like example before them. Believe me, people watch your example more than they listen to you. They don't let you know it but they are watching you.

Man, I've been really struggling during this whole pandemic with alcohol. I used to be a pretty bad alcoholic, but had been sober for about 2 or 3 years. Now, not a day goes by where I dont have at least 2 drinks. Ive been trying to just say no, but clearly that doesn't work because at some point in the day, I just end up saying yes anyways. So this at month or so, I've essentially given up on saying no, and have yielded once again to my alcoholism. But by the power of Jesus, I will be free.

My favorite part of this whole message is that Temptation is not a sin. It really does feel like well since I'm tempted, I'm already there. That temptation point is where we need to fight back the most no matter how hard the struggle is. Thank you!
...the Bible is filled with promises to help us overcome the fiercest temptations. Here are three I claim daily and many times during the day: "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it" (1Cor 10:13)... "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you" (Jas 4:7-8)... "Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy" (Jude 24)... They work so well I scratch my head trying to remember what the devil was using to separate me from my God, who loves me and wants me to be with Him in heaven even more than I want to be there. There truly is no excuse for sin and these promises prove that. Commit them to memory, speak them every time you feel tempted while always giving Jesus the glory, you'll be amazed!! God Bless...

Remember that so you don’t give in when tempted. 2 - If you want to resist temptation you HAVE TO prepare for the temptation beforehand. 3 - You have to understand and Anticipate the way you get Tempted. 4 - Consider the consequences and the COST of yielding to the temptation your facing. Seven Questions to ask yourself the next time you tempted. 1 - How am I going to feel about this tomorrow? 2 - How will this affect other people? 3 - How is this going to affect my relationship with God? 4 - How will I feel about sharing this decision with someone later? 5 - How will this affect my reputation? 6 - How is this decision going to affect my future and life goals? 7 - How will this affect those who are looking up to me?

Thank you so much for this video! As someone who has dealt strongly with sexual sins like lust and pornography I can say that only when I was reborn into Christ was I able to combat my addictions. I like so many other young men of today's age fell to pornography and lust at a young age and even though I have Christ now, there are still times where I am too weak to hold firm with God against temptation. Very recently as I have been getting deeper into my faith many of your strategies came to me, but I wasn't sure about them because I didn't REALIZE they were coming from God! Now that I see all of these examples of Jesus in the scriptures I feel so much better about my plans because now I know they were from God all along! Thank you and praise God!

I read scripture and fall back on God during temptation. Also, one of my favorite songs help me fight against temptation. It's called "Another in the Fire" by Hillsong UNITED. The story in Daniel chapter three just ignites the fire that makes me want to stand against the temptation of this world and pursue God. I just chant "there is another in the fire", and I'll sometimes literally just shout out "praise the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!" . It, so far, has worked incredibly well and I'm almost out of the fire!
Thank you for this brother Allen. Just today the temptation to smoke was my struggle before work and after work. In the morning i was praying and read a book about praying and it kept my mind from dwelling into the temptation. After work on my way to a bus stop a pack full of cigarettes was laying on the ground half open. It was scary how temptation presented itself that way but because of the situation i didnt yield to it. Im thankful to God for just protecting me from that. If i gave in i dont know what to do with myself.

A few notes: -In the words of the late Ravi Zacharias, "Draw the lines!" In our lives, a tendency I've noticed is that lines get blurrier the closer you get to them. You want to stay on the 'right side' of something, even if it's too far, but if you've not even drawn a line, you're in trouble. Better to draw the line 'too early' rather than too late, too: as in saying no to something even if it might be fine in and of itself because it's too likely to bother *you* spiritually or regarding this issue or what have you. -So often the Bible refers to us as 'vessels': we're meant to be filled. Are you filled with God or the world? If you're having trouble getting something of the world out: are you just focusing on throwing it out again and again or are you trying to replace it? Two illustrations that may help: =Cats keep coming into my yard. (not really, but this is the illustration) Which is easier to keep them out: constantly going out and yelling at them until I'm exhausted, then they come back in anyway, or getting a Pitbull? (which is easier: to try to drive the spirits out yourself, or to ask God to fill you more fully so that He does the work?) =What's the easiest way to get air out of a cup? Try to vacuum the air out? Place it one of those cool vacuum chambers that NASA has? Or just fill it with water? (which is easier: to try to empty out the bad, or to be filled with something good?) --- Another note: consequences are important to note. So often we forget the price of sin: how much it already has damaged and harmed us in the past, yet when it calls again, we forget those matters only in favor of the 'minor pleasures' that sin temporarily gives us in exchange for all that pain - pain not only for you, but for those around you. Sin is *never* worth it, and unlike how it pretends to be, sin *rarely* victimizes *only* you. And even in that case, recall that Christ died for our sins: that we may be free of them, not chained to them. Don't trust the flesh: trust God. And don't forget! Remember, instead. Most importantly, remember Jesus, and seek Him. --- Thanks for the vid!

I stay in the word and sadly I say to myself “God will forgive me” , “Gods grace is more abundant than my sin”, “things aren’t going right, God isn’t helping me with this addiction so I’ll just indulge myself in it until He gives me the strength.” I am very disappointed in myself, I don’t want to keep sinning against the love of my life Jesus Christ 💔 This flesh is not the real me 💔 This last time I gave in I started crying because I’m tired of always relying on grace and forgiveness. The basic idea is that we as Christians should be Christlike and not be conformed to the world. Trying to be more like the world or to accomodate the world's culture is being progressive. For example, the bible says x is a sin but we want to be seen as nice people so we either ignore it, try to interpret the bible to say it's not a sin so that people are more comfortable.
I’m not really educated enough to say what exactly progressive Christianity is, but I think mainly, they don’t believe God told the writers of the Bible what to wright; they see the books in the Bible as more of a diary’s. I hope that helped There’s a channel called god is grey, the person who runs the channel is a Progressive Christian, if you what to check that out. ( I think that’s the main difference, but if there’s a progressive Christian reading, please correct me, I could be totally wrong )
Collins below explained it really well. They are people who believe in God BUT are lost on the true meaning of God's word. They live in the world and want to be accepted by the world. They're Left leaning politically as well and support groups such as BLM ,Planned Parenthood. They believe God loves all no matter their sins or sinning and love is love, supporting gay marriages etc. The progressive Christian church are lost churches if you believe that God's word is complete truth and we should not adapt it to 'modern' times or twist and manipulate His word to make people feel better about living in sin.

It just means that he meant what he said without repentance. No intention of taking it back. It was inspired by a statement from a lady named Nene Leakes on a show called Real Housewives of America.
Think of it like claiming the promises of God. We can trust that Jesus "said what He said" and therefore and take His promises to be true. It's also taken from a popular meme as well. Ha.

Pray. Rebuke sinful thoughts. Don't watch ungodly shows and movies ( it's mostly trash anyway with the exception of Nat Geo and cooking shows) If you have to cut off sinful friends and family then do so. I had to repent for a sin I could've avoided because I didn't consistently rebuke my thoughts and I was feeding my lust with webcam models and porn. We have to take responsibility for our actions. The devil didn't make me do it but he did use my thoughts to tempt me. Sister be encouraged and pray. Talk to the Father. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you safeguard your mind and for discipline. i am not struggling with sexual temptation rn, but with procrastination. I can't find motivation to study, and I keep on just doing things that won't help me in anyway. I have a lot of works to pass, but I got sick today so I can't work on it. I cried to the Lord about my cares, then this video popped in my notifications. Spiritual growth happens when we don’t rely on our own strength, but repeatedly rely on god that he will provide us a way out of that temptation, and we have to allow god to push us through even when all of our flesh wants to give in. A pastor once explained sin in a way I've never forgotten. When temptation enters our mind if we see it and turn away from it, that is not sinning. We sin when we look back and think upon it,fantasize about it in our minds even if we haven't yet physically acted upon it, in our mind we've already sinned.

I've had some brutal temptations to yield to habitual sin lately. My solution? Pray for someone every time I'm tempted! Nothing takes the edge off of temptation like focusing on someone else's needs. Pray for your pastor, his wife, his children. Pray for the marriages in your church. Pray for your relationships and the people you love. Satan isn't going to want to hit you in those soft spots if your retaliation is to pray for other people. Of course you always need to be in the Word and praying for God's strength all the time (since we never know when temptation will come) but this has really helped for me. And it's benefiting those around me!

Temptation was sooo strong yesterday and I was soo close about giving in but the Holy Spirit was working harder and I was able to fight it off. I also read Galatians 5: 16-17 this morning:
“So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions.”

I really needed this. Today I made the mistake of lashing out at my brother whom I’m also trying to share the gospel with and praying he gets saved. He told me he didn’t know how he was supposed to look up to me anymore. Felt like the biggest kick in the gut I’ve ever received. Please pray for me to change and look more and more like Christ and that nothing comes in the way of my family knowing the Lord.
Family as well as friends sometimes is turned off by the truth. It causes them to see the weaknesses of themselves and they don't like that. I just pray for them regularly and consistently be a Christ like example before them. Believe me, people watch your example more than they listen to you. They don't let you know it but they are watching you.

Man, I've been really struggling during this whole pandemic with alcohol. I used to be a pretty bad alcoholic, but had been sober for about 2 or 3 years. Now, not a day goes by where I dont have at least 2 drinks. Ive been trying to just say no, but clearly that doesn't work because at some point in the day, I just end up saying yes anyways. So this at month or so, I've essentially given up on saying no, and have yielded once again to my alcoholism.
But by the power of Jesus, I will be free.

...the Bible is filled with promises to help us overcome the fiercest temptations. Here are three I claim daily and many times during the day:
"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it" (1Cor 10:13)...
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you" (Jas 4:7-8)...
"Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy" (Jude 24)...
They work so well I scratch my head trying to remember what the devil was using to separate me from my God, who loves me and wants me to be with Him in heaven even more than I want to be there. There truly is no excuse for sin and these promises prove that. Commit them to memory, speak them every time you feel tempted while always giving Jesus the glory, you'll be amazed!! God Bless...

Thank you so much for this video! As someone who has dealt strongly with sexual sins like lust and pornography I can say that only when I was reborn into Christ was I able to combat my addictions. I like so many other young men of today's age fell to pornography and lust at a young age and even though I have Christ now, there are still times where I am too weak to hold firm with God against temptation. Very recently as I have been getting deeper into my faith many of your strategies came to me, but I wasn't sure about them because I didn't REALIZE they were coming from God! Now that I see all of these examples of Jesus in the scriptures I feel so much better about my plans because now I know they were from God all along! Thank you and praise God!

I read scripture and fall back on God during temptation. Also, one of my favorite songs help me fight against temptation. It's called "Another in the Fire" by Hillsong UNITED. The story in Daniel chapter three just ignites the fire that makes me want to stand against the temptation of this world and pursue God. I just chant "there is another in the fire", and I'll sometimes literally just shout out "praise the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit!" . It, so far, has worked incredibly well and I'm almost out of the fire!

Thank you for this brother Allen. Just today the temptation to smoke was my struggle before work and after work. In the morning i was praying and read a book about praying and it kept my mind from dwelling into the temptation. After work on my way to a bus stop a pack full of cigarettes was laying on the ground half open. It was scary how temptation presented itself that way but because of the situation i didnt yield to it. Im thankful to God for just protecting me from that. If i gave in i dont know what to do with myself.

In our lives, a tendency I've noticed is that lines get blurrier the closer you get to them. You want to stay on the 'right side' of something, even if it's too far, but if you've not even drawn a line, you're in trouble.
Better to draw the line 'too early' rather than too late, too: as in saying no to something even if it might be fine in and of itself because it's too likely to bother *you* spiritually or regarding this issue or what have you.
-So often the Bible refers to us as 'vessels': we're meant to be filled.
Are you filled with God or the world?
If you're having trouble getting something of the world out: are you just focusing on throwing it out again and again or are you trying to replace it?
Two illustrations that may help:
=Cats keep coming into my yard. (not really, but this is the illustration)
Which is easier to keep them out: constantly going out and yelling at them until I'm exhausted, then they come back in anyway, or getting a Pitbull?
(which is easier: to try to drive the spirits out yourself, or to ask God to fill you more fully so that He does the work?)
=What's the easiest way to get air out of a cup?
Try to vacuum the air out? Place it one of those cool vacuum chambers that NASA has?
Or just fill it with water?
(which is easier: to try to empty out the bad, or to be filled with something good?)

Another note: consequences are important to note.
So often we forget the price of sin: how much it already has damaged and harmed us in the past, yet when it calls again, we forget those matters only in favor of the 'minor pleasures' that sin temporarily gives us in exchange for all that pain - pain not only for you, but for those around you.
Sin is *never* worth it, and unlike how it pretends to be, sin *rarely* victimizes *only* you.
And even in that case, recall that Christ died for our sins: that we may be free of them, not chained to them.
Don't trust the flesh: trust God.
And don't forget! Remember, instead.
Most importantly, remember Jesus, and seek Him.

I have a porn addiction and I struggle with it a lot.
I stay in the word and sadly I say to myself “God will forgive me” , “Gods grace is more abundant than my sin”, “things aren’t going right, God isn’t helping me with this addiction so I’ll just indulge myself in it until He gives me the strength.”

...the Bible is filled with promises to help us overcome the fiercest temptations. Here are three I claim daily and many times during the day:
"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it" (1Cor 10:13)...
"Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you" (Jas 4:7-8)...
"Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy" (Jude 24)...
They work so well I scratch my head trying to remember what the devil was using to separate me from my God, who loves me and wants me to be with Him in heaven even more than I want to be there. There truly is no excuse for sin and these promises prove that. Commit them to memory, speak them every time you feel tempted while always giving Jesus the glory, you'll be amazed!! God Bless...

Wow, just in time! Thanks💕. Also, im hearing alot about progressive christianity and im not sure what it is lol. Can someone explain what it is?
The basic idea is that we as Christians should be Christlike and not be conformed to the world. Trying to be more like the world or to accomodate the world's culture is being progressive. For example, the bible says x is a sin but we want to be seen as nice people so we either ignore it, try to interpret the bible to say it's not a sin so that people are more comfortable.
I’m not really educated enough to say what exactly progressive Christianity is, but I think mainly, they don’t believe God told the writers of the Bible what to wright; they see the books in the Bible as more of a diary’s.

Collins below explained it really well. They are people who believe in God BUT are lost on the true meaning of God's word. They live in the world and want to be accepted by the world. They're Left leaning politically as well and support groups such as BLM ,Planned Parenthood. They believe God loves all no matter their sins or sinning and love is love, supporting gay marriages etc. The progressive Christian church are lost churches if you believe that God's word is complete truth and we should not adapt it to 'modern' times or twist and manipulate His word to make people feel better about living in sin.

Think of it like claiming the promises of God. We can trust that Jesus "said what He said" and therefore and take His promises to be true. It's also taken from a popular meme as well. Ha.

Bro. Parr's final point was really great re: consider the consequences of your sin. Many lives have been destroyed because someone gave into a minute(s) of sin that impacted their family, friends, and relationship with God.
