One thing I have learned from your channel that stands out the most is when you find errors like this from shops knowing myself I would have trusted their work and not taken the time to measure some of this stuff.

Mistakes happen and it sucks. How a company handles a mistake is a true gauge of their worth though. Hopefully all goes well and they get you something that works soon. I know a lot of shops are slammed so maybe it was a new guy that they hired out of desperation. Who knows. In the meantime we'll keep watching. I know it's frustrating but you'll figure something out. Keep it up man!

Jim (22re Performance) is good people. Glad to see them helping your channel out. I have quite a growing collection of their expensive stickers and the free parts that come with them (haha). Hate to say it but you might be waiting a while for a block. Standard bore 22r blocks are getting a little hard to come by, even overbored but usable ones are getting a bit scarce. Have two overbored but still usable ones stashed away for a rainy day.

Sandblast or sand the face of your pistons with ceramic engine paint then bake them at 300 degrees for one hour, this is a heat barrier & it will protect the top of your piston if you ever have a lean issue, & do not forget the first step in assembling that motor, THE THRUST BEARINGS!
good luck in this assembly I'm doing the same assembly but with eagle rods ,arp rod bolts, main studs & head studs! Awesome setup Austin!

The clearance on the cylinder bores might be your fault if you told him you wanted .002 clearance. Clearance is considered per side of the diameter, not total clearance. You wanted .001" clearance.

Where would I find a map of the hoses for the evap system, I'm sure they just put the hoses on wrong. Tedious work on your rebuild. Don't know if I have it in me do go into that much detail anymore. We used to use a product called plastigauge to measure clearances. Probably not near as accurate as a micrometer.
