@@GothicElf68 I think I figured this out, all the bitchy dialogue you get from Ash on Horizon is when you're maleshep, but if you play femshep she's actually nice. The opposite is true for Kaidan with femshep, he's a complete dick regardless of whether you romanced him or not, but he's more understanding with maleshep. It's very likely a lot of the people who hate Ash played as maleshep. I played through the trilogy multiple times as femshep and I didn't quite like her but Kaidan was such a dick the first time in ME2 that every subsequent playthrough I saved Ashley instead.

Because during the trilogy they put more focus on attractive characters than appropriate design. Have you seen the "armor" some of the characters wear in battle in ME2 and ME3?
JoelPerry1 Traynor is actually a pretty good romance for femshep, especially with the Citadel DLC. She is the femshep counterpart to maleshep having Tali, in the sense that they both start out insecure of themselves but they tend to grow later. You just have to get into the romance a bit more and she's actually one of the best romances of the games in my opinion.
Lieutenant DAN yes she's so insecure that she runs straight to the shower and starts flirting with Shepard immediately. At least Vega was added to the game for new characters, but it seemed like bioware said, "well we have EDI and Vega for new squad members, and Javik to steal their money, now we need two non squad members... let's pander to the LGBT!" I'm not anti LGBT but they previously said male Shep is hetero and we already have Kelly and Liara for fem Shep. Outside the romance Traynor's toothbrush is more helpful than her. And for the record I didn't like the Tali romance as well. She seemed like a younger sister character to me and the romance felt unnecessary.
