Yeahhh the furniture in this game looks sooo extra. Like, just give me some plain looking couches, not something extravagant.. The couches especially never really fit the cozy, comfy vibe I'm going for -_-
Oh look! A normal couch! Lets just add like maybe 7 brightly colored pillows and a woodtone that doesnt match anything!
I own like half the packs and I can’t find a single couch that I actually love! It’s so frustrating!
Also the kinda normal looking couches are so uncomfy for your Sims:(

i would like to address the Elephant in the room. at least, the one in MY room: yes, EA did a good one for once with this platform thing but..... WE NEED LOFTS. imagine if we could delete the walls in the platforms, and keep the floor so there could actually be different heights in a same room.
I thought we had that when the update came out so I got really excited but when I tried it we didn't 😢

The Sims team had the most perfect opportunity to add bunk beds to tiny living, but they didn't, so simmers are having to use their remaining 2 braincells to create their own

I'm building a cake house, it started out as a test to see how many stories i could make a house, then i decided to make it look like a cake by adding one tile on every side, so the top level was 2x2, the one under that was 4x4, and so on, but then my sister said "lesbians" becuase in some places they call lesbians "tortas", and then it made me think of Strange Æons, so now I'm making it a witch house, so it's a lesbian witch cake house, three witches live there: Teya, Sappho and Ava

Actually yes, that is a thing. Putting fireplaces on 'platforms', actually called "mantels", is a very common find in 60's - 80's houses. My dad's house has a huge mantel in the living room.
I thought mantels were like a shelf on top of the fireplace...? Idk haha
My fire place has the top and bottom. Btw the “mantel” is on the top of the fire place the bottom part is probably to keep people from having their house catch on fire. Idk these are just my thoughts...
@@katlyn6928 The mantel is the whole fireplace facade visible in the room, including the shelf but also including all the decoration, jambs, etc.
The raised platform around a fireplace is a hearth.
My house has a rased platform that the fireplace sits on, I believe it is to stop people walking so close to the fire
My house was renovated in the 80s and the fireplace is raised about a foot and I never even thought about that not being a thing nowadays! But I can totally recreate my house better in the sims now 🥰
I know this is an old video and you won't see this, but I've been shamelessly bingeing your builds and they've inspired me to get back into the Sims. My builds are much better now too

@@emerson3669 I think tiny living would be the best bet because I always connect kids room stuff and parenthood with children, toddlers and maybe teens but tiny living would be great to have it for adult sims too. Like, make it so you can put a bunk bed with a desk underneath instead of a second bed, or just a regular bunk bed that can have two sims but only take up the space needed for one single bed. But it should literally be base game tbh..
I swear EA will make a Bunk Life stuff pack and it will be literally just one bunk bed.
I deffo see a hotel game pack in the future, maybe bunk beds then??

Edit: my fireplace is on a tile platform. It’s like a foot and a half up. It’s like a big beige tile.

you should redo your “remaking the good luck charlie house” since you have platforms now and can add the platform thing in Teddy’s bedroom.
One of the first things I did with platforms was make a children's room with a loft bed, too, it's so cute!

I swear I learn so much watching you build. I think I've been so used to building really simple in every other Sims games that all this detailing is confusing and frustrating when I try and build. I also learned I have to drastically get out of my comfort zone when making houses. It always ends up as a square or rectangle with a bathroom in the corner. Watching you and James Turner gets me out of my build funk. Thank you Kayla!
So I’m currently living vicariously through you rn because I’m in the car waiting for my aunt to take me to the pediatrician (ps. Not a child) so yeah I can’t wait to get home and just ditch all of my sims for this 😂
I love that you added the fireplace platform! I used to have one in my old home which I think I'm starting to miss, making me feel sad recently. I know to you it was just a fireplace platform but thank you for adding it!
I don’t know if this is really possible but you should do a challenge where every room is a different shape so you have like triangle and octagon rooms. Lol it would be a really weird house but I think it would be funny and interesting. 😂😂
I never build because I wasnt instantly good at it so it was easier to just download houses from the gallery and furnish them (maybe). But your videos have made me want to build! I spent like 2 hours on a house tonight and while its not nearly as good as yours, I'm super proud of it! I borrowed the loft idea and it really elevates the whole room. Thank you for posting and inspiring me to build!
Hey Simsie, can you do a roofing tutorial with a octagonal room connected to a two story house? I've done this before, but I've always had an issue with the roof clipping.

a cute thing to do when you want both a TV and a fireplace is to put a big fireplace as the centre of attention in the living room and put a square nightstand next to it, with one of the box shaped TVs on it. rotate it slightly to face the couches. i do it all the time

I keep getting that "can't make change out of owner area" message when I use fences since the update. I think it's a bug. My game keeps crashing too. :(
Thank you for mentioning that sims can walk over the short fences! I always want to use it trim between the kitchens and the living areas in my builds, but didn't know they could be stepped over!

I had a loft bed and it was the BIGGEST hassle. The huge desk underneath was nice, but I ran track all through high school and would be so tired from practices that I couldnt make myself climb the ladder into my bed, and mostly just slept on my futon. They’re an awesome concept but really should only be for kids like in the video.

Honestly wish you would do more not base game only builds! I totally get wanting more people to be able to use them but I love seeing how creative you get with all the packs as an option!
Platforms are really nice. I made japanese house using BaseGame + CC. I have like 5 tiers/levels where Sim can walk :D Bedroom has 4, Kitchen has 3. A lot of fun :)
In my opinion, platforms are one of the most exciting updates in the sims for because I build all the time and my house is split leveled so now I can finally do it.😁
