I've been playing with this pack for about an hour or so and I've just realised... we're missing a window. The rounded Moschino stuff looking one from the small teaser they posted (shown at around 0:06) isn't in the pack. I literally can't find it anywhere. In my defence I could just be being stupid but when I filter windows by kits only there's only one there. Of course they could have decided to not include it but surely you wouldn't release a teaser with content you've removed, right? EDIT: nevermind! Kayla brought it up I just hadn't watched that far lmaooo but she's correct, it doesn't really sit right with me either because I wouldn't have minded that to be included in the kit :/
Apparently they addressed this on Twitter and it’s going to be patched. It’s still an error but it’s just another symptom of the poor state of their quality control lately. I know there will always be bugs and things that slip through (that’s just realism) but there have been a lot of glaringly in your face oopsies lately that feel like they shouldn’t of made it into the wild.
Yeah, it is being patched in. I think we have a general sense that EA really rushes the Sims team, and that might be part of why the final stages of packs often feel rushed.

But I think I just need Lol to make more industrial builds. Plus, yeah I’m excited for stuff to match those counters! This kit would be great for renovating that house in San Myshuno!
I actually feel like the game has many items so similar to these already, like even in the star wars pack you can get vents and such (though not standing up for the star wars pack XD )
As someone who works in marketing, little stuff like the using of the wrong window happens ALL THE TIME. You make a mock up and don’t remove the thing you used as a place holder. Sometimes there’s a change that was made AFTER the release of the promo (which is VERY frustrating, but it happens). They also might’ve included that before the pack was finished and then no one noticed that it was different. There’s a multitude of reasons that that Twitter promo vid includes something that doesn’t exist.
What would make for cool kits would be region-specific items so you can de-Americanize your builds a little. I'm sure people from all over the world can think of some simple additions that would make their houses feel like homes. I as a German always wish I could decorate my windows with plants and clutter. You can kind of imitate windowsills with shelves but they would look so much nicer if they came as a single item. To complete the kit you could add radiators, doors with handles, a water-saving toilet, a big cluttered bookshelf wall, a wall-mounted mail box, a kitchen sink/trash can combo, a water carbonator... If bikes were base game I would love a bike stand. It would also be cool to have something like a shoe rack where you can choose to make your sims remove their shoes inside the house.
I appreciate the rug in this kit just because I play on console and I cant (or just dont know how) size up or down things. So i finally get a perfect size fuzzy rug!
I like that it matches some other stuff... But I think there's also a limit... They pretty much just released a bunch of stuff we already have, just with new swatches... They should instead add those swatches to the stuff we already have via an update. But James Turner even did a whole video where he built the industrial loft cover art picture, without actually having the kit...
7:05 i used to have a couch like that and just looking at them i can feel that like- when it's summer and it's really hot and you sit in one of those and get basically glued to it bc of your sweat 💀
This is literally my style, I love the industrial reclaimed timber look. I will likely buy this kit just because I keep trying to make builds look like this but there are just few things missing to fully bring it together so for me this is definitely it 🥰
I love this kit because that's exactly the style I like to build with ♥️ and I honestly don't mind they releasing a bunch of kits, we can choose what works for us and they cost the same as a Starbucks coffee anyways ☺️
YOU KNOW WHAT I THINK I GET WHY THEY DID TWO BUILD KITS IN A ROW. Because Courtyard Oasis is more build centric and this one is more buy mode/furniture centric. So each kit appeals to both types of builders: furnishing + building. hence why this kit doesn’t have any build stuff except that window
i feel like this feels like the same vibes as some of the houses in windenburg and the apartments in san myshuno. like the place where the partihaus club live could definitely use those vent ceiling decorations imo
Oh Kayla you are just so matchy matchy when it comes to decorating. I love it it inspires me to do a lot with my builds but boho chic and pure chaos is def a style of room too. I could put that movie hang out chair in any hippie's living room 😂
I agree with you about kits in general. I had thought I'd want to get this kit (especially when planning my orange gen's apartment) but then I found stuff I already had and was able to get the vibe I wanted. I have no intention on ever getting the bust the dust kit (or laundry day) because that's not really how I want to play, but I have used the Throwback Fit kit SO MUCH when it comes to dressing my sims especially in their fitness clothes. So it really is to each their own. I do not mean to dissuade anyone from buying this kit, but for something like this, just think about whether you really want it or not.
5:48 YES!!! I too want them to implement fans that are also lights because I live in Florida too, and it's hard for me to comprehend how to use the fans when they don't have lights in them. 😩 But other than that, I think the loft kit looks good! Good enough to get imo. ^^
In the rare case that I use a ceiling fan in my builds, I place the super subtle saucer light at the same spot the fan connects to the ceiling so that it looks like the light is part of the base. Requires MOO to work
Referring to your comment about having lights attached to the fans, I use the hanging bulb light from the laundry day pack and put it with a ceiling fan so it looks like a light attached. Just a tip😊
I love how the sims team was like what if we make the wood match this one cabinet and nothing else but not even like match correctly rather than updating the counter to have new swatches
i feel like their build and buy kits are very much inspired by cc packs, with all the different swatches and options without them having to add some kind of new gameplay or story line element to it, which i love that about their kits. it feels like it's just a good addition to the bulld and buy catalog for people that cant or dont want to use cc
it's probably easier for them to put out kits with very specific content like their morrocan garden kit or this industrial kit, because it's not properly not really something for the average sims player, because then you can buy it if you want to without missing out on an gameplay element.
I honestly figured that there wouldn't be a new wallpaper because that angular color block style is the same thing they did advertising Courtyard Oasis except it was shades of gray this time instead of shades of pink, and we didn't get any wallpaper with that pattern in CO
You know a lot of people download starter homes for various reasons right? I have most packs. I don’t have the more recent ones just because I haven’t played in months. I still download starter homes to start off a Sim in or to alter and redecorate.

Everytime a kit is available I think "oh, look, EA made their new paid custom content"...
TBH, if EA was smart they'd use the kits as collaborations with cc creators. They've collabed with cc creators before, after all. And it would be a way to support a content creator you like if you're a console player or don't want to sub to a patron every month
Agree, why would anyone buy ( on a budget people mostly) kits instead of cc which is free , they should focus on making gameplay more interesting
some of these items remind me of the ironwood set from animal crossing new horizons! and the terrarium looks like the one in ACNH as well :) love it
This might have to be the one Kit that I buy, I could handle not having vacuums and a fancy patio but this is so cool looking
I was literally just about to tell you it's a fake window before I saw the edit 🤣
WHYYYY couldn’t we get the archway with the doors shut as an actual door version????
All Kits feel like they could be updates for other packs, this one could be a update for either city living or eco lifestyle
Yes! Pack refreshes should be "hey here's some newer items and we re-meshed some of the older ones, along with updating for cross-pack compatibility." Ya know, give people a new reason to buy the old packs and as a thank you to people who did buy them already.
@@SilverLily People already have a reason to buy the old packs if they haven't already. To have them.
Absolutely my favorite they've made yet. The textures, swatches, etc. are by far some of the best. My absolute favorite style combining organic and industrial materials.
I feel like this stuff is good "rinky dink bar in the city" material. You know, the kind where the owner of the bar lives in the apartment upstairs.
Agreed! I kind of want to remake the How I Met Your Mother apartment now lmao
I can HEAR those couch cushions
Lilsimsie: I really like this pack!
The video title: 🧍🏻♀️
god i want that teased window though, the existing rounded one from mosquito is so huge it's difficult to use
i heard they’re releasing it in a base game patch!
@@kathleenistalking The Sims' official twitter said that "the window will arrive to the Kit in an upcoming patch update". Arrive to the Kit. So, no free base game window, sadly
When I saw the title I was like: you know what? Me too.
This kit matches how I like to decorate in real life so I'm pretty darn jazzed
I think the items are pretty fun and everyone else is bitching 😂😂 I too wish we had some better swatches that matched better like Kayla said but the items look pretty cool and I really like the couch and rug. There are almost no nice basic rugs and I have a good deal of packs lol
@@BrittasCreepyTreasures As a daredevil fan this kit is right up my alley lmao. Every single time it pans to his loft where he lives I think I REALLY WANT HIS WINDOWS
@@ameliarennie6464 Omg, I understand exactly what you're talking about. :O
@@BanaanForEver I want to build a loft on that penthouse lot in Sam myshuno the one in the arts quarter and make a daredevil sim to go in it lmao
@@ameliarennie6464 YES. THAT WOULD BE SO COOL.
kayla is like my favorite youtuber ever i love seeing her vids so much omg
NEWSFLASH: this kit was made for the people that wanted to build Chipotle
...I KNOW WHAT IM GOING TO DO TODAY.
I think I’m going to get it. My husband and I moved recently and are decorating with a more industrial style. I’m excited about the wall art and couch/chairs.
Nobody owns that pack unless they got it for free.
@@parryyotter I own it. Mostly because I’m a huge SW nerd
get to work i thnk has those vents too
Am I the only one who thinks the movie hangout stuff goes with island living well ?
it really does and it goes well with many objects in the game but kayla isnt creative enough to see it well
I could never make that work, but maybe it's because I don't like the super colorful swatches
@@limiv5272 definitely not my aesthetic but works for a very colorful household
It's all the wicker! Especially that fan chair. What I like to do with Movie Hangout the most is pair it with the Paranormal stuff
@@wormdoodles oooo I haven’t purchased paranormal yet. (Doesn’t fit in with my LPs lol) good to know! Thanks
"I'm not sure about the industrial loft kit".
You know what I was thinking the exact same thing.
Kits are basically ea putting a price tag on cc u can get for free on patreon. And they’re better quality.
Exactly. Kits without new gameplay = not worth it
What would make for cool kits would be region-specific items so you can de-Americanize your builds a little.
It would also be cool to have something like a shoe rack where you can choose to make your sims remove their shoes inside the house.
ofc plumbella and lilsimsie upload at virtually the same time
I appreciate the rug in this kit just because I play on console and I cant (or just dont know how) size up or down things. So i finally get a perfect size fuzzy rug!
All four back buttons. And the left and right arrows to size up and down. To remove it all you have to do is click on any object
I used to play on console too
I think people who have city living, it would go well with them.
The couches texture are so realistic it’s scary…
It's alpha cc
@@eclipsxchxn4236 it’s.. a sims kit.
7:05 i used to have a couch like that and just looking at them i can feel that like- when it's summer and it's really hot and you sit in one of those and get basically glued to it bc of your sweat 💀
This kit looks like it’ll mesh really well with loft and tiny living imo
What I do like about kits is the CC making potential, I like the style of this kit and CC creators could make a kit expansion with super cool items
I like the pack, it’s just I won’t buy it for myself
Im buying it just for the tall "table" thingy, I have wanted an island like that for SO LONG!!!!
my friend said this pack reminded them of Rent and i cant stop thinking about it
A café in that style would be so cool!
i feel like the sims 4 now has such a different style from when it was first released. the newer content isn’t gonna match the 8 year old base game
This is literally my style, I love the industrial reclaimed timber look. I will likely buy this kit just because I keep trying to make builds look like this but there are just few things missing to fully bring it together so for me this is definitely it 🥰
I love this kit because that's exactly the style I like to build with ♥️ and I honestly don't mind they releasing a bunch of kits, we can choose what works for us and they cost the same as a Starbucks coffee anyways ☺️
yeah but a coffee is useful a kit is not :(
@@mother8220 since I love to build and industrial style is my favorite, yes, it is super useful for me :D
@@AnaPaulaBuzzo well thats good :D
YOU KNOW WHAT I THINK I GET WHY THEY DID TWO BUILD KITS IN A ROW. Because Courtyard Oasis is more build centric and this one is more buy mode/furniture centric. So each kit appeals to both types of builders: furnishing + building. hence why this kit doesn’t have any build stuff except that window
These items reminds me of The Foundry district in Urbz: Sims in the City!
i feel like this feels like the same vibes as some of the houses in windenburg and the apartments in san myshuno. like the place where the partihaus club live could definitely use those vent ceiling decorations imo
I actually REALLY like this kit. I'm planning on getting it. I like making industrial style venues, so I'll probably be making a restaurant with this.
Oh Kayla you are just so matchy matchy when it comes to decorating. I love it it inspires me to do a lot with my builds but boho chic and pure chaos is def a style of room too. I could put that movie hang out chair in any hippie's living room 😂
the title of "oh no" and review of how "pretty good" the kit was seems disingenuous.
I really like the aesthetic but I wanna boycott kits 😩
Honestly you'd get better quality items with cc packs
boycott them and just download cc :D
this is by far my favorite kit and my favorite style ever and it makes me so sad how everyone seems to hate it
5:48 YES!!! I too want them to implement fans that are also lights because I live in Florida too, and it's hard for me to comprehend how to use the fans when they don't have lights in them. 😩
But other than that, I think the loft kit looks good! Good enough to get imo. ^^
In the rare case that I use a ceiling fan in my builds, I place the super subtle saucer light at the same spot the fan connects to the ceiling so that it looks like the light is part of the base. Requires MOO to work
@@limiv5272 I do this too, also with the lightbulb from laundry day
@@limiv5272 dang, that's a good idea, I hadn't thought about it!
Thanks! ^^
Referring to your comment about having lights attached to the fans, I use the hanging bulb light from the laundry day pack and put it with a ceiling fan so it looks like a light attached. Just a tip😊
I don't care for apartments in The Sims even though I like converted warehouses. I'm glad they did it so that I don't have to buy it.
Same i was expecting something different because of the window im so sad
I personally really like this style.
I love how the sims team was like what if we make the wood match this one cabinet and nothing else but not even like match correctly rather than updating the counter to have new swatches
Updating base game? What's that?
I'm glad everyone relates to their recently divorced dads decorating their houses like this
that wall mural with the bike on it surprised me, because i kept seeing it as a skull until she started changing the swatches
I already got it! Trying to improve my building skills and this is a style I've been wanting to get into a lot more :)
i feel like their build and buy kits are very much inspired by cc packs, with all the different swatches and options without them having to add some kind of new gameplay or story line element to it, which i love that about their kits. it feels like it's just a good addition to the bulld and buy catalog for people that cant or dont want to use cc
it's probably easier for them to put out kits with very specific content like their morrocan garden kit or this industrial kit, because it's not properly not really something for the average sims player, because then you can buy it if you want to without missing out on an gameplay element.
THIS KIT WOULD BE SO GOOD IN A CAFE
I honestly figured that there wouldn't be a new wallpaper because that angular color block style is the same thing they did advertising Courtyard Oasis except it was shades of gray this time instead of shades of pink, and we didn't get any wallpaper with that pattern in CO
I knew it would suck already, it just looked like the game stuff with new colours
I agree I don’t like the table that came with it either
I want that couch…. That piece is honestly the reason I would by the pack.
I appreciate that they are stepping up their textures.
"That's good for starter homes"
Bold of you to assume people who download starter homes off the gallery will buy this kit tbh
You know a lot of people download starter homes for various reasons right? I have most packs. I don’t have the more recent ones just because I haven’t played in months. I still download starter homes to start off a Sim in or to alter and redecorate.
As a Sims player who loves rags to riches and bunker “apocalypse,” game play, this pack add lots of nice little details to add to the game. The duct, is AMAZING, and all the distressed wood and dirty windows! My zombie hunter Sims are in for a treat!
Kayla: Talking about the face on the bed
Me: Seeing the wall decal with the bike as a skull
Also Me: Starts ranting to myself about said skull
This kit looks like my entire apt and im not mad about. I wish EA wouldn't nickel and dime, but defs pumped about the exposed ventilation etc.
Does anyone else desperately want the cottage living expansion pack? its so cute but its expensive ;-;
