I'm planning my own wedding for this june. The only good thing that came from this pack is the reassurance that my wedding CANNOT go as poorly as the ones you get with this pack
@@sfatlithewise1276 I was actually planning to just walk down the aisle and then leave the altar to go talk to family around the back of the seating area for a few hours before remembering that I'm supposed to be getting married, good thing this pack showed me what that would look like so I can avoid that unfortunate mishap 😂 And thank you!
This is 100% a transparency issue. We would have all understood if they had been honest about the issues and either extended the deadline or released it and sincerely apologised for the issues. The silence of the gurus, the sims and EA right now is extremely loud.
honestly. even a statement saying that the pack was going to need an update would have been better than the nothing that we're getting. I'm disappointed.
They've already been roasted for extending the deadline. Entire franchises have died because of pushing out release dates. What they should have done is not announce it. Their transparency is actually what's screwing them over. Their plans that commit them to deadlines months in advance... while yes, ideally you'd want something nearly finished for the market months in advance but it doesn't always work that way.
@@Chaotic_Pixie Honestly this. Release trailers so we are looking forward to things, but don't tell us when you'll release it. Actually get a good working product before releasing it. Then any bugs are truly rare oddities instead of the entire thing being entirely broken.
@@_Fizel_ that’s what the makeup industry does… but even better, just SURPRISE! And when it’s a product that actually works… everyone becomes the Futurama Meme
Someone on Twitter said, can you imagine Simmers that are not actively a part of the online Sims Community? They probably bought this pack and it's completely broken with no explanation as to why, nothing. I can't stop thinking about that.
I don’t follow the sims on social media very closely, so when I bought the pack I’d heard here and there that some issues were present but I wasn’t sure what. My engagement dinner, Bach party, and rehearsal dinner went off without a hitch, so I thought “oh maybe they patched the bugs.” Then I got to the wedding. The ENTIRE thing was so broken. I tried resetting my sims. Nope. Turned autonomy off. Nope. It took two in game days JUST to get my bride and groom to say their vows, none of my wedding party did their walk, the officiant peed himself, ON A LOT WITH THREE ACCESSIBLE BATHROOMS and was broken from that point forward, and I got so upset that I ended the event once I got them to say their vows because nothing else worked. At all.
@@lunarequine7734 Jesus christ. My wedding was a little less horrible, my sims kept getting off the wedding stage and go to the side to say their vows, while the officiant awkwardly stands on the stage. That ruined the whole thing for me
@@Shiiwata but one thing is a glitch that can be fixed. the selling point of the pack is WEDDINGS, if the wedding doesn't work and you didn't know, than you can't use it and your money is basically wasted
I’m VERY glad you explained that buying this pack overrides the whole wedding system. No other review I’ve watched so far has said that and that’s a very important point. Thank you.
I think the funny thing is that this pack isn’t a CAS pack, it isn’t really a builder’s pack, it’s a gameplay pack. However the gameplay is severely bugged. So why would any type of Simmer buy this pack?
she gets payed for being so positive about EA’s packs. Notice how on this pack, she doesn’t say she’s sponsored? It’s because she spoke negatively about the pack. The creators of the sims don’t want that for their brand they want complete positivity. It’s all about the money.
@@anastasia.noelle she’s never sponsored by ea, they just sometimes send her packs early. Sometimes she’s overly positive bc she feels sentimental towards the game and since she knows the team quite well
It’s honestly embarrassing that the sims team would put out a broken pack that they knew it was broken it’s honestly disgraceful and embarrassing at this point.
i wonder if true to form they will just add the fix of disabling this games wedding replacement instead of actually fixing the buggy pack lololol. dream home designer is still broke
The worst part for me is that if you buy this dlc, it overrides the base game weddings and replaces them with this broken mess(which says a lot considering how much of a mess BG weddings are). I was tempted to buy this one day HEAVILY discounted as the world is very nice(the clothes looked meh but I think I'm just spoiled by how good cc is lol), but I really don't want the broken weddings forever and being forced to use the elope function just so I can avoid this headache. If only world packs from sims 3 were still a thing. Oh well.
I'm the same way, I haven't bought a single sims 4 pack at full price except for the base game (and my grandma bought me that at Walmart back in 2015, but that even came with luxury party stuff for free). All the packs I buy have been minimum 25% off, so if you just wait a while and find it discounted then it'll be worth it to some extent.
lol i remember even in the base game weddings were so annoying, i’d hire the caterer and stuff because it’s required and they don’t even do their job, or start it too late. my sim would almost always make her own cake lmao that’s if you want to actually have a gold event
i literally clicked the button for all sims to be seated and they sat at two different aisles 😭😭😭 why is there two at the wedding venue it’s so confusing
one thing i'm super upset about and haven't heard anyone else mention: why are toddlers excluded from the weddings? i went into this knowing it wouldn't fully work, obviously, but i was very, very upset to see that my sims children weren't able to be at the wedding, for no good reason.
@@Bluehoshiflower what lmao It’s a life simulation game, not a young adult simulation game, and even so young adults can still have toddlers so why can’t they be part of the wedding?
thanks for your honest opinion. I love the build items from the pack but if this is so much broken as you said, I prefer to wait and maybe use CC to replace the build content.
Ikr they could’ve fixed it but they didn’t they lied I’m so done with them at this point if they don’t start changing things around soon the sims team is going to dataset losing their audience. Disgraceful
@@Kira-te2ps I'm sorry but If they make excuses for not being able to fix bugs then I'll literally consider it as laziness or not giving a damn considering EA is such a BIG gaming company. At this point, just make the modders work for EA Sims production team.
honestly carl's sim's guides fixed a bunch of issues WITHIN a day, granted they weren't a 100% fix but they were still significant improvements. they could've used the extra time to fix it and they didn't
Man, I'm so bummed EA fudged this (I'm sure the Sims team did the best they were enabled to do). I love the build stuff, the CAS stuff & I would have loved wedding gameplay, if it worked. I would have 100% given them my $26 CAD if they'd been able to fix this pack. Maybe I will in a few months, if they're able to keep working to fix it.
@@yuhhbiscuit Agreed. Honestly, I would still consider buying it for the build & buy stuff and the CAS (mostly the dresses) if it didn't entirely replace the base game wedding system. The new stuff isn't worth forcing myself into that.
Did they do their best? Carl released a fix days after he had access to the pack. 90% of the blame is EA (they should have extended the deadline) but let’s not forget that the developers should have definitely prioritised these fixes. If one guy can fix the pack in a few days, a massive team can too.
I bought it as soon as it was released, but I wouldn’t again. The build stuff is nice, but I won’t use it often enough to justify the money. Many of the white dresses look nicer in CAS than they do in game play too.
I said it before and I'll say it again: Start a petition to boycott Wedding Stories until it's actually fixed! If this was a mod, you wouldn't even download it because it's so broken. Spending money on this pack is telling EA that their behavior is ok with the consumers and encourages them to keep putting our mediocre content in pretty wrappings
I dont wanna be that guy but you should see how the petition for Battlefield 2042 is going. People asking for refund yet only Steam is wanting to do full refunds for the game sadly not console players (which i am) and especially when it comes to sims 4 wedding pack it might take a good while before changes might be made. Not that im saying that it wont but it will take a while before EA decides to do something if it involves money being taken away from them. I wanna like the game but how can i with all the constant micro management and the frustrating bugs and glitches that EA seen to completely ignore as long as they're making money.
Boycott them by not spending another dime on this game, hit them where it hurts, their pocketbooks.!! The last thing I bought here was the Dream Home decorator pack. Im done spending money on this game in protest!
People shouldn't be buying packs at all, we keep giving them money for broken and mediocre content when the base game itself is so barebones. Just get mods and stop supporting this company til they get their act together. They won't until it starts effecting their money, and they haven't because people keep giving them money for the bare minimum
I tried to have a wedding and all the guests just disappeared before they could even get to their seats, and then the bride t-posed for the remainder of the ceremony. After the hastily ended wedding, my married couple still were able to ask people to be their whatever for the ceremony. Usually when people are like, oh this pack is really buggy, my game works fine, but holy shit this was so bad. SOOOOO BAD. And it's just so shallow. The parties are the same thing with a different name, there are no non-positive interactions, no drama, etc. It's just empty, hollow, dead. Unbelievably disappointing especially because they just keep pumping out those godawful kits.
it's actually disgusting how so many of the packs are BROKEN. people are paying real money for this garbage, and it doesn't even work! This is such a problem with all of the packs is that something about them lacks something or something doesn't work. Alot of the bugs have been fixed, but I remember a massive one from years ago, (idk if it still happens now) which was the Cats and Dog vet glitch where you couldn't bill the owner and that used to make me so upset because I'd be spending all of my sim's money on the clinic and the supplies and then I just couldn't bill the owner! they really need to go back and fix all the bugs so our money isn't wasted because it's actually so infuriating about us getting scammed and ripped for our money to buy a pack that doesn't work.
it’s really disappointing they couldn’t fix all the bugs (sorry i’m aware they could have fixed em it’s just highly disappointing they didn’t considering we were all excited for this pack)
The worst part of my wedding stories is that it’s the first actual pack EA released in months, since they just released kits for a while, and it ended up being the laggiest pack in a long time :(
Here's my pitch for how the ceremonies themselves could potentially, actually work with the features they clearly designed this pack with: - Have all the micro-managing of how the ceremony is supposed to go be done in the planning menu. Don't just set up a group of activities you have to check off by play during the ceremony, but an in-order, start-to-finish list of exactly what's going to happen (guests sit > officiant walk down aisle > flower pal walk down aisle > couple walk together down aisle > etc) - Have all the wedding arches/aisles have the same kind of footprints that teacher yoga mats do (these work really well and I've never had sims try to join a yoga class by using a yoga mat in another part of the spa/gym) all chairs for the wedding should be placed within the footprint and if you don't have enough chairs for all the guests they should stand around the perimeter to the footprint to the best of their abilities (like Kayla says they're sims, I'm not expecting much) - The ceremony should be a single click interaction "Have ceremony" (There doesn't need to be options like "..with officiant" because you set up everything in the planning menu). The sims run through the actions as you put them in your list and the game knows when the ceremony portion is over and everyone can get up a chat/do weird sim things because the list you set is done. - You can then do other wedding things that aren't a part of the actual ceremony (take pictures, toss the bouquet, etc) - End the wedding event whenever you want (totally agree it's a great change to have it no longer be a timed event, weddings do take all day) Btw this is not me saying that the pack couldn't work better/at all, if the team had been given the time they needed, without a system like this. I just think Kayla is right about the inherit problems of sims misbehaving and being chaotic making this level of detail and control unworkable with the current way you run groups. The group dancing works great! Yoga classes work great! You don't need personality during a wedding ceremony (other than the great reactions they have while sitting nicely during the vows), that's not really what weddings are about.
But also I wish there was a small chance of at least some drama. A chance of wedding crashers kinda killing the vibe, if you invite the ex maybe they can object to the wedding, insults/fights bw guests and the wedding party say if someone wore white or didn’t follow dress code you know? I just think they’re a little too doll-like with all this and it’s sad you have to micromanage everything :(
my sims got married yesterday: the cake had gone missing (like it wasn’t anywhere to be seen) my guests were at two different alters, they all turned up in winter clothes and it took me until 3 o’clock in the sim morning to complete the wedding tasks that are supposed to be fun ://
The Sims 2 wedding has so many of these features & does work. So they CAN do it, they just chose to release broken games because they know people will buy them anyways.
What makes me angry is they are still charging full price for a broken game. Can you imagine walking into a store and paying full price for a broken computer and the sales man says," oh, it'll be ok we are working on fixes to make it work...we'll send you an update on our progress in a few weeks." A year goes by and still no fixes and you can't return it and you're stuck with a broken computer you paid full price for. SMDH :(
This is why I haven't bought this one even though I love the idea of it. I'm making it a rule from now on to only buy them on sale and I think others should follow suit regardless of how excited you are. They need to learn that what they're putting out is not acceptable. if people stop buying completely, there's a chance ea might see the game as "no longer marketable" and scrap it, however, buying a game on sale shows there's still a market for the game, people just aren't willing to pay full price for it, as its a shoddy product that's not worth the price. Hopefully in doing this, that would push someone at ea to be like, "okay, people want this, we just need to improve the quality of life so that people want to buy it full price on day one again". I know its opinion, and that opinion depends on person to person, but in my opinion the packs are overpriced anyway, and then they try and get the same coin for a broken pack?. It's so shameless that the industry is like this now and i say industry as its not just EA this problem spans across multiple companies. For now however, RIP to yet another company that EA has Totally F*cked.
Yes! I totally agree! I never buy packs when they aren’t on sale anyways especially not expansion packs. I was super excited for this pack and considering buying it on the release date. But when I heard how glitchy it was I decided not too. I’m very glad I looked into it more before buying it
Yeah, it was the same for me, this was the first I ever considered buying on the release date for full price. However now I will definitely wait for a sale and even then if they haven’t fixed it I might not buy it.
I've come to this exact conclusion. I've very much fallen out of love with the Sims 4 and honestly haven't touched it since December (Animal Crossing has filled that void), and at this point I'm not sure what would pull me back to the game. It just feels like EA is trying to cut more and more corners because the Sims has such a loyal audience from nostalgia alone, but I think they're overestimating how much loyalty the community has left, especially when Paralives releases.
Exactly, it doesn't make sense paying the price of ANOTHER GAME every time they make a pack/expansion. It's supposed to add to the game, they don't function on their own...so why price it so high? Especially when it doesn't even work
Poor Kayla, I honestly feel like they were trying to trick her with that "Not Final Software" thing, like they were hoping she'd be saying to her followers that it's buggy but it's not the final product. Really underhanded, disgusting behaviour from EA and, sorry, the Sims Team too.
The sims [building] community has been complaining about matching build swatches (door and windows, tables and chairs, beds and dressers, etc.) for what feels like eons and the fact that they continue to keep giving us unmatching swatches is so frustrating.
Or worse, Maxis hears the complaints, releases a couple of white doors and everyone goes "AHH THEY HEARD US!" ....and then they release mismatched doors.
Honestly, I just don't understand what EA is trying to accomplish most of the time. It almost seems like they want to have this bad reputation.. they're one of the biggest game companies. How is that they cannot fix such game breaking glitches before releasing things when smaller developers and even modders don't release content that's this messed up.
I think that people making EA games think that only children are playing so they (children) are not aware of the issues, or don’t care enough to not buy it. They’re in for a rude awakening lol sooooo many people aren’t buying this I can’t wait to see them sweat to figure out a solution.. it’s about time..
It's very much a "well we're already EA, a big ass company that's always going to get money so might as well half ass it now." Major companies like to make money, not spend money. So to fully flesh out packs, and fix everything that's broken? Too much time, will have to pay staff for extra hours...might as well leave it
EA have a history of releasing buggy games. Even their top performer FIFA which gets a new game every year, is the exact same buggy mess as its always been. They don't care because people will keep adding to the pile of billions they already have regardless of if they release functioning games or not. Ultimately its not the players they care about, its the shareholders. All they need to do now (with how much money they have) is churn out games so that it looks like they are doing something so the shareholders are happy. Even if noone bought this pack, it would not change anything in how they go about things because at this point they are rich enough not to care. If they cared then they wouldn't buy up game studios and then fire all the experienced employees to replace with interns (often who don't get paid until they pass the probationary period and after that they get paid a pittance). If they cared they'd give the game designers the appropriate amount of time and funding to do a good job on the game they're working on. They don't. They set a release date that will appeal to the shareholders and then they will release on that date if at all possible regardless of how finished the game is. I've heard from bug testers who used to work for EA that they even have a special terms for these kinds of bugs they're called "known shipable" as in they know its a bug, but they are happy for the game to be released with the bugs intact. So the bug fixers aren't actually allowed to spend time on fixing those bugs. They're only allowed to prioritise bugs which cause the game to crash and save files to corrupt and even then only if they happen repeatedly and consistently enough to warrant fixing them. Its such a shame because they used to be a great game publisher back in the day. They'd publish games by small companies and stuff. I miss the days of Maxis making the Sims before EA bought them outright and then fired everyone.
they dont care. at the end of the day, people still buy this crap. that's why sims 4 has been milked into such a ridiculously vacuous cash cow. completely destroyed my favourite game series just for money. it'll never get better and we're probably in for worse with sims 5.
Kinda reminds me of Game Freak/Pokémon. The games are extremely nostalgic and built a solid fandom in the early days. But now the games released are lacklustre, rushed, continuously have less features and more “packs” to buy to get them all back and no matter how much genuine constructive criticism fans give - they’re just blatantly ignored. The thing is, EA knows that if they release any “Sims” content at all, it’s going to sell no matter what. They already have a dedicated and loyal fan base for the game. They’ve also put out a lot of objectively bad content before and that hasn’t discouraged their fan base from buying more content yet so they’re probably not overly worried about quality. Because somehow we all acknowledge EA’s quality problem, but it doesn’t reflect in purchases. It really is all about profit with the least amount of effort. It’s definitely frustrating knowing the quality of games they have the resources to make, and how truly good a sims game could be if they put effort in, but the fans don’t really demand that of them. (I’m speaking for myself here too, I’m also guilty). Sure, there are reviews like this and people do complain - but the demands that would change them are made with our wallets and we rarely if ever don’t pull our wallets out even if we can predict something won’t be up to standard. It’s like purposely going to restaurant that’s well-known and expensive but serves mediocre food. You know from experience that the food isn’t going to be that good, but you still eat it all anyway. And go back again and again and again.
Besties I'm so disappointed, I've been wanting a Mediterranean world so much (especially now in the winter, longing for the sun and the sea) but I can't possibly buy a broken pack for a pretty world 🙄🙄🙄
Agreed! The world looks fantastic, but I can't get behind the idea of buying this pack just for that. I think I'd rather play my game stuck in Willow Creek forever than give them *any* amount of money for this shitshow of a pack. This should have been a free update, a stuff pack, and a world (maybe attached to a different pack).
Why not? I believe that SIMS is what you make it. The worlds are the one thing I can't make. I can bulldoze every lot on the world and build new stuff. I can work around a slew of problems. A great world is worth a lot. Especially if you can get the pack half price!
I feel like if the sims would have made the wedding ceremony into a cut scene instead of actual gameplay, it would have been a lot better. Kind of like sims 2 styled. Idk just seems like it would ensure it would function and you could just watch the wedding happen instead of stressing and performing each individual interaction.
I’m curious as to how the community feels about additional elements to the ceremony vs. increased micromanagement. Like, in the sims 2, you just clicked on the arch and if there was a chair nearby, anybody who wasn’t exchanging vows would sit and then clap at the end, and that was enough for me. I wonder if most players are the same, or if they really want all the additional stuff, like flower pals and walking down the aisle, etc. Honestly, I think a basegame update to slightly improve existing weddings would have been sufficient, and then a stuff pack. But perhaps stuff packs have been retired in favor of kits.
I think for a whole wedding pack, yeah there should be flower pals etc...but I think for regular weddings without the pack they should have gone the Sims 2 route
As much as I like the idea of what they tried to go with, like Kayla said, I don't think it was ever going to work. The AI just isn't strong enough to have a scripted wedding, micromanaged or not. For once I think they should have made this a stuff pack or basegame update, and given us some of the Cas and BuildBuy assets instead of trying to make all of this work. It was clearly too much for the devs to do with the game they're working with.
I’m not a fan of the micromanaging. That alone seems like an unenjoyable headache. More options is not always a good thing and I think this pack is a perfect example of that. It would be much more appealing to me if I could click “start ceremony” on the arch or something and the actions auto queue. For example, say I chose to have a flower pal. When I start the ceremony the guests would automatically sit down, then the flower pal would walk down the aisle, then the couple, etc. if no flower pal, the game would be smart enough to skip that interaction. Unfortunately, I don’t think the game is smart enough for this kind of thing… Very disappointing.
@@AbiAbsinthe That’s totally fair. I guess what I’m questioning is the decision (by EA, not the devs) to pursue an entire game pack around weddings when the included elements would be so difficult to execute. I think a world-less stuff pack makes so much more sense, and I’m wondering if the reason it became such a convoluted mess of a game pack has something to do with the existence of kits.
Ok, here's my theory. This pack was originally meant to be a stuff pack. I mean, how long has it BEEN since we got a stuff pack now? I think it was a stuff pack. Without the world. Without the kiosks. Without the messages in bottles. Just the wedding stuff. But they realized it needed more since we already HAVE weddings in the game, so some exec said, "Hey, lets bump it up to a game pack, add a world, and make more money. But they passed the order down so late in the process, the dev team were pulled off game play and had to focus on making the world, the kiosks, etc, work instead. The environments team & lot builders kicked ass. Got the world done, then the coders were implementing the new additions with the neglected game play... and Valentine's Day rolled up. You're ABSOLUTELY RIGHT they were aiming for that and rushed the hell out of the pack trying to make it. But the tossed-in world, coordinating with the environments & creators who did the builds ate up all the rest of the time. So exec looks at it, thinks, "What the hell. Pretty sells." Stamped DONE on the package and shipped it. Head desk.
it honestly does feel like stuffpack looking at all the videos. There is not enough gameplay to justify this being a gamepack, without the world and removing a couple cas and buy items, this would be on the same level as the spooky pack!
for anyone who doesn't know - the tea pouring ceremony is a chinese wedding tradition. the married couple pours the tea for their in-laws and receive gifts in return.
I've been buying everything once it hits 50% off for a couple of years now but even then I'm reluctant to spend money on this broken mess of a franchise. Which is a shame, because Sims has brought me so much joy over the years. Whether it's an issue with the studio or the publisher this issue of non-functioning packs needs fixing. I'm amazed some sort of consumer rights law hasn't been broken at this point.
Was anyone actually thinking that the "not the final version" would in fact, not be the final version? We've seen it time and time again how buggy they release games. Remember dreamhome decorator? That STILL has tons of bugs that have never once been addressed let alone fixed. EA was planning on releasing the broken wedding mess earlier and only pushed it in order to make more money from the Russian simmers. None of them ever planned on fixing a single thing because they know that people are going to buy a broken mess anyway. Shame on them.
I loveeee dream home decorator and the bugs make me so sad. Really can’t do half of the jobs properly because of strange build restrictions. And the before/after photos still don’t always work. I can’t believe they haven’t fixed it at all.
At this point they don’t need to « fix the gameplay » they MUST re-do the whole way of getting married. Like I would prefer clicking on the aisle and a button « start the wedding » AND you just watch it because it’s actully a chore to make sure people sit then making the girl/boy throw the flowers then make the married couple walk (and they don’t even stand under the arch SMHH)….PLEASE JUST MAKE animation that would be simple. THANKS (I think we should boycott the pack because the way they remain silent is making me so mad, like just listen to the community)
That's part of one of the biggest problems I have with Sims 4 atm. The gameplay is either absolute micro management, or no management at all and the player doesn't get to decide what they want. You can't control pets and have to live with them doing what they want, but you absolutely have to control every second of your wedding by yourself. I wish there was an option to decide on how much you want to micro manage yourself. Just give us a switch that says "automatic weddings on/off" and let us decide if we want to click everything ourselves, or if we want to sit back and enjoy. They could have at least let the base game weddings in.
@@tin4258 Yeah that’s the idea, personnally I was thinking more like an animation but we, as players are not totally passive. For example we’ll click on the aisle to start the wedding then the WHOLE animation of getting married actuates (so the guests sit, the priest if there’s one is already set up, the kid throw flowers, the couple walk down the aisle, the the kid bring the rings…) BUT throughout the animation we get regular options (should XXX say I do? Yes or No) you know that would be perfect, at least for me.
I really wanted the option to organise the wedding and relax a little once it actually started Like you can select the events that you want (spousal kiss, cutting the cake etc) but you still have to manage it yourself It'd be so much better if you could select the order then get pop up options like when your sim is at work, I.e "Your sim is about to say their vows, but the stress is making their brain go fuzzy! Do they try and do it from memory or ask a best sim to help them out?" Then when you select a choice it plays a fitting animation Plus I feel like there's no real impact with their traits and relationships. What if two members of the wedding party hate each other? Do clumsy sims fail at their first dance? What about envious sims interrupting the wedding? I'm so tired of this pack already
It's a real shame when people ask if there's a setting to turn off the gameplay features of a game pack... I really like the CAS and Build items, but I think I'll hold off on getting this pack for now.
I played this pack yesterday and a sim got very angry and died at my wedding… I also had a sim pick up the whole cake and washed it in the sink so I had no cake at the wedding 🥲
This is hilarious! XD In my game, I’m 100% sure that Caleb Vatore would be the one washing the cake in the sink, cause he’s always running around washing dishes for other people by himself (I don’t even know why but I leave him be cause he’s cute when he does that xD).
I had two sims die at my wedding and then the cupcake display disappeared. They spent so long mourning the two sims (WHO THEY DIDN'T EVEN KNOW!) it took me almost a whole day to finish the wedding until I finally just ended it early out of frustration.
15:29 Let me stop you there because Carl from Carl's Sims Guides has been developping a mod to fix these broken interactions and having huge success in it. This is 110% the devs fault and they know it.
@@funkyfranx he's saying it's not something that can't be done because modders have done it, he hasn't said that people shouldn't complain because there is a mod
Wedding problems I encountered: -once guests sit they won’t move no matter what you do. -spouse didn’t change into wedding attire. -food spoiling -officiant did not work. -Very glitchy
Sounds like they need to immediately plan a pack refresh for this one haha. I probably won't buy it until they do a very necessary update and fix it :(
Yeah, they need bug fixes immediately. They also need Bach Parties that actually ACT like Bach Parties. Why don't they reuse the firefighter dance? Do it Sims 3 style, cops and firefighters and doctors show up and do a silly sexy dance and try to flirt with the "bach"? That ONE thing would improve this pack immeasurably for me.
This sounds a lot like my experience with dream home decorator: the cas and build objects are fantastic, but I have never had the career work. Every time I renovate a house or a room and do the showing event at the end, I get 0 stars and they don't pay me. It takes almost all of the fun out of it and makes it virtually impossible to advance in the career. I've yet to find a fix so if anyone knows I'm all ears
that’s so weird i got it when it came out and i had a issue with one of my mods not allowing me to get gigs but i updated it and it was fine. I use the career a lot and i have no problems with it. i don’t know if you have mods or anything but see if there is anything conflicting if u do.
It works completley fine for me!! Sometimes the house renovation reveal skips by accident but they still give me ratings and stars and i still level up maybe it’s cuz i’m on xbox ?? Idk it’s kindve glitchy for me but everything works , just sometimes the sims will walk through walls but i think that’s base game
This happened to me in the beginning but it turns out I never gave my Sims any Decor likes and dislikes. After I did that, it started to work and I got paid.
In fact they made a very low-quality pack and then tried to "fix" the situation by adding a lesbian story and rainbow colour changes for furniture and dresses, which didn't work.
Hey Kayla, I recently received the Sims 4 for my birthday and wanted to ask, what packs do you think are most worth the money, I’m allowed to purchase 3 at the moment! Would love you input x
i'm not kayla obviously, but there are videos where she's ranked the packs! if you want my opinions, i'd say seasons, parenthood, and tiny living if you want one of each :) if just EP's, I'd say seasons, cats and dogs and maybe either cottage living or get together! (depends on what you prefer to do/what styles you prefer)
I think its also a talent drain we're seeing at EA in terms of the actual programming that's required for these games. There are so many postings for EA software devs out but no one wants to apply (EA doesn't pay enough and is banking on people wanting to join simply for the AAA status). EA finally has a creative team that is able to see plan out so many things we've requested over the years (hence the increase in quality of the CAS and build items we're getting) but is lacking in the software dev department to fully see these ideas through.
THIS IS SO IMPORTANT. The culture at EA (and in the game development industry at large) is so toxic and exploitative it's no wonder that shit like this gets released as "final product." They're creating their own downfall....
Yeah, there's a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy at play here. Gamers are the ones most likely to want to MAKE games, and they know about EA's reputation. So they don't apply. So then EA's quality gets worse, so more people see EA games and don't want to work for them, so the quality gets worse. Over and over.
if they underpay programmer they better use contractor at this point imo. Yeah there would be more leaker but I guess that's a fair exchange to get the bug at least fixed.
the thing that sucks so much about this is that the build, cas, and world are all good; but the (nonexistent) gameplay is so ridiculously broken, and the fact that it will override base game weddings if you install it is already a deal breaker for me, regardless of how broken the game actually is
Its times like these that I can't help but get upset about the pack prices. I wouldn't mind them if the packs' quality was worth it, but they're not. Likewise, I wouldn't mind the quality of the packs if the prices were lower and more fitting, but they're not. To make people pay so much for packs when they don't have a worthwhile amount of content, are lacking in quality (in this case, completely broken), and must be picked between carefully due to the huge amount of them existing while the average simmer can only afford so much, is just unfair. Especially for a company as large as EA. They're capable of doing better and there's really no excuse for putting out content like this when the community would be willing to wait longer if it meant they'd use their time to make sure what they were releasing was good. I hate to say it also, but as lovely as it is to see more diversity as time goes on, it's deeply troubling to see it all in packs while the base game is severely lacking. It's making it so that if you want your sims world to be diverse, you'll have to pay extra money, whereas the simmers who could do fine without that will get a more proper experience for less. As much as I'd like to believe the sims 4 team is doing this out of a genuine desire to show appreciation to all walks of life who play their game, that wouldn't change the fact that they're putting diversity behind a paywall and leaving those of us who can't afford it to miss out on telling our own stories and seeing ourselves in the game. I'm not the only one who feels this way, I've noticed, and I wouldn't complain if I was. I hope they listen to feedback on that as well because man, I just isn't fair.
You're so right. Pack integration just breaks the game. I was doing a doctor play-thorugh as a spell caster because I thought being a witch doctor would be fun, but if you use magic to fix things or mop, it never acknowledges you did it, which is dumb.
The Sims 4 players should team up and ask for a refund for this pack. It's been years of people complaining, and EA just won't listen to feedback, just like with Dine Out. But people asking for a refund might put EA in place.
it’d be nice if you could still do regular base game weddings even with the pack installed bc at least then you could still successfully have a wedding by not using the pack-version wedding event but still have the pack cas & build/buy items. it sucks that it replaces the default wedding event with a broken wedding event.
I’m so upset that a year later it’s STILL broken. They promised over and over again that they were going to fix it and instead they moved on to other packs
I feel so bad for people responsible for creating the new world. It's so beautiful and big, but everyone hates the pack for the bugs, and obviously people responsible for gameplay features are absolutely different ones :( Just thought about it now and wanted to show some support for those members of the Sims team who actually put a lot of effort into this. You did great guys :D
I agree, also I feel sorry for the people who actually work on this but don't make all the decisions just seeing how buggy it is when they might of wanted to postpone the pack till it actually works.
I was super excited about this pack!! The amount of gameplay added, the new world, the representation of lgbt, the lists goes on and on. Now seeing how many bugs there were and the fact there is still problems with the pack officially being out is sad. I was SO prepared to spend my money on this and was actually saving up my money for it. The slow dancing was my favorite!! Now it's just disappointing how bad they messed this up Edit: Plus, I forgot, the sims reactions and moodlets. The sims reaction at your wedding and you can announce your wedding, the flower pals and normal wedding stuff like that was a HUGE factor on why I wanted this pack so bad. Even the small thing of walking up and down the aisle! Too bad it's so bugged
I have bought almost every pack for the sims and I have never been this disappointed. My wedding was unplayable. They knew this pack was broken but were just greedy. At this point I’m so frustrated that I think I’m done supporting EA.
They should have brought back those animated scenes so when it's time to actually get married, you just trigger the animation with all the sims you chose in their roles.
For anyone, like me, that's HIGHLY considering disabling this pack JUST to have the old wedding system back after trying it once and nearly throwing your game out the window, James Turner's website has a section for how to do it. (Also for anyone wondering how to reenable it later if you so desire, I looked it up and all you have to do is remove the command you put in via the way you put it in in James' instructions on his website) (EDIT) just tried it, works great and brings back the old wedding system. EASILY reenabled the same way you disabled it except you just backspace the command and hit save. When you get on the main screen where you select a save, if you've disabled the pack, it will tell you that you "need" it installed or your game may become corrupted. I risked one of my saves and enabled and disabled it a couple of times to check things out. I friended the townies and then disabled it and reloaded the game and hit save. I then reenable the pack and went back into the save to see if the befriended townies would come back or if they would reset. When you play with the pack enabled and do things and lets say one of the new world townies that you knew passes away, and then you disable the pack, play, and then reenable it, everything resets, so its as if you just installed the pack. So everything was fine aside from the items and world being removed. I will likely do this only for wedding events, but it does indeed work.
I feel like, as was said in the video, that this pack tries to add interactions that aren't really possible in the Sims or there isn't the necessary groundwork in the game to make these types of interactions possible. But this is something they should have known and they shouldn't have tried to add all these interactions, like getting sims to sit down for the wedding and stay there and not talk, if it wasn't going to be possible to begin with. And some of the bugs clearly are fixable, like the animation for the kiss. Their lips don't come anywhere near each other. Or the fact that you can't actually cut the cake. What I want to know is if they are even planning to fix the issues with the pack? Or are they just going to be like 'well, here it is, take it or leave it.' Also, what was the point of making all the Sims creators say 'this isn't the final version' if they weren't actually going to fix the "final" version?
The concept of this pack is AMAZING. Love the amount of customization you can have from the wedding cake to the ceremony activities to literally picking who gets sent down the aisle. My only thought on how it could actually work for the Sims 4 game, for specifically the ceremony and the aisle, is to just combine all of those individual selections. Like it should probably just be "Have wedding ceremony" and it triggers the guests to sit down, the officiant to get in place (if there is one selected), the flower pal first going down the aisle (if there is one selected), then the couple, then the ring bearer (if there is one selected), and then automatically into the vows and the kiss (if selected in the wedding menu). Obviously it's not as much customization but it's the only thing I can think of that might actually work for the Sims 4 specifically and how the game is set up. What do ya'll think could help this pack work?
The slow dancing ,writing in the sand ,venues ,different parties, CAS items and the world to explore with lots to build on is what I love about this pack but it’s meant for weddings for which it doesn’t work at all I tried it a few times with different things to do at the wedding and it failed every time.
I used to always have my weddings at the von haunt estate and i'd hire a caterer and but a white cake and pretend its a wedding cake. and that was MUCH smoother than a whole pack designed for weddings....
I actually decided Magnolia Promenade works as a wedding spot. I have a chapel, a reception hall, a restaurant with a great banquet room, and a park/garden venue on the 4 lots. It's the first time I have actually used Magnolia Promenade in all the time I've been playing.
@@michelleisasi469 You're not wrong, and I've done much of the same there. But it was the fact that although it came with an expansion pack (the most expensive kind of pack), there is only one neighborhood to play with: a total of 4 lots. I don't know about you, but I could make a whole shopping district in that world, with many different types of shops, plus maybe a theater and a bowling alley and a [insert any great idea here]....anyway, it just feels super limited for an expansion pack world. On a related note, I don't understand what qualifies each pack to be a certain kind. I kind of wish we had world, gameplay, BB, and CAS items as their own packs, priced accordingly. But I'm not a developer, so really, what can I say about any of this? *cheeky grin* Have a great night and happy Simming! xo PS if you created any of your lots and you have them on the gallery, please give me your ID!
as much as i love the cas stuff i just cannot see myself having to go through all those tedious interactions for a wedding, but with that being said i'm not even disappointed bc i knew this pack was gonna be hella glitchy. this is something that has never ever been done in the sims 4 before and the tracking with sims is already screwed up (why do sims still prefer the bathroom sink when washing dishes?) hopefully in the next patch they can fix these bugs bc the pack was marketed really really well
With mine, there isn’t an option to schedule when the wedding starts, it starts immediately. Then, my guests usually don’t show up. And no one follows any of the commands at all. My last wedding attempt lasted 47 hours somehow too
i feel like the micromanaging of interactions could be solved by adding a single command like "start ceremony" to the aisle menu I'm not a programmer but a girl can dream, right?
Kayla, this was SUCH a balanced review. You THROUGHLY outlined the things that are GOOD about the pack and how much they TRIED to do, but still holding them accountable. Other Sim RUclipsrs REALLY don’t do this.
@@moondivine2288 Exactly. I bought it solely for the items, cas, and world. I don't do weddings often and they will eventually have to fix this, so I think it's okay. however, I bought it prematurely, so if you have the option not to. Don't.
@@moondivine2288 "there's a mod that fixes the bugs" Jesus Christ you still wanna give money to a company that relies on modders to fix their mistakes?😐
@@samuelfritz2446 dude I get your frustration but there’s no need to be so rude about it. The world itself is beautiful and so is the cas and build items. The problem isn’t the entire pack. It’s the ceremony part. And for some ppl the world and items is all they care about it. They’ll have to fix the bugs eventually so there’s no reason ppl can’t enjoy the rest of the pack rn. You being rude isn’t helping anyone or helping to get any point across. It’s not even that deep, it’s their money, not yours. You pay for what you want and others will pay for what they want, end of story.
Biggest problem with sims in general, is the days are not long enough to complete any extra tasks apart from filling needs and a bit of skill/relationship building. I use NRAS relativity mod and I literally double the day length and it is still just enough time to do extra stuff. They keep adding all this stuff with no possible way of completing any of it in a reasonable timescale
Remember when a successful wedding event resulted with your newly we'd couple jumping in a limo for a free honeymoon... why don't they bring stuff like that back, and of coarse the stripper cakes...
I really like how worlds are becoming more open w/o being open world. Like yeah, you still have to load lots but its really nice to be able to explore a large area around your lot without a loading screen
You know, I never complain about this game, never have, thought I never would. But this is just outrageous. I mean they KNEW these things didn't work because it didn't work for the guru's on the Livestream! So they took an entire week to release it, why couldn't they have fixed stuff in that time? This is ridiculous now, this...WHY do they expect us to pay good money for things that don't work?!! And the worst part of it is that they're not saying a bloody thing about it! They're just all ignoring everything! WTF! Grow up, EA! You put crap out, be prepared to deal with the outcome!! If I weren't a builder, if I played and was looking forward to having my Sims get married? I'd demand my money back.
I myself work in game development and while I absolutely do not support releasing obviously broken content, a week is a SHORT development time. Judging by how The Sims functions, I don't think a week (5 working days, hopefully without crunch because it's inhuman to ask people to work around the clock for something as trivial as a video game) is a realistic time span to fix and test all the issues shown here. Should the issues have been fixed? Of course. Could they have been fixed in a week? Doubt it. They should have communicated the issues and postponed the release until they had the pack functioning as intended, or even scrapping features that did not work as intended if they absolutely could not make them work within the set production time.
Some good news! I played the pack and IT IS WORKING AS INTENDED. Sims are sitting, the bride and groom and the officiant is actuslly on the arch already (wtf) AND when they cut a cake its so cute because you can actually splatter cakes into their faces. The only problem is that they stop sometimes. But all in all the pack worked fine and most of the guests cried especislly close ones and my sim cried while walking on the aisle! How cute was that.. EDIT: so my sister tried the pack and it didnt work on her (made me more furious on ea, she saved up on that)
I was so looking forward to this pack. Everything they said was going to happen, I wanted for my Sims' weddings. I'm so disappointed that so many things are so badly glitched. I feel really sorry for the Gurus. I'm sure that they are embarrassed. They were so looking forward to us enjoying what they had done, only to have it come out like this. No wonder a Guru broke down when they were attempting to show the game on that Livestream. (Some people thought she was ill, but if so it was ill with embarrassment, I suspect.) I'm glad the EA Creative Network creators are allowed to speak out about their disappointment in how this has worked.
Don't feel too sorry for the "gurus". They're just marketing agents who are paid to be enthusiastic about whatever the latest pack is. They're not involved in actually creating it.
@@rubberduck3y6 You are mistaken. The Gurus are the ones who *are* building the game. SimGuruBat frequently (after a pack comes out) tells us which assets she creates.
@@hotpinkkt It wasn't a full blown breakdown like screaming or blubbering but it was obvious to those of us who deal with emotional issues in people. I bought the pack right when it came out and I felt like it was the BIGGEST mistake ever. I feel scammed.. EA is such a huge company and they release something this BAD… they better fix this.
@@jossiehamilton5857 If you bought this pack on release and aren't happy you should submit a ticket to EA asking for your money back. You probably won't get it but it's a great way to log that people are unhappy.
I was SO excited for this pack, but the way it's broken is just sad, I'll probably still get it on July because I always get bundles for my birthday, and I still want it more than I want all the gamepacks I don't have, hopefully it's fixed by then, but I doubt it, I was so excited tho, planning parties on the sims is cool, and I play legacies, so I love having huge families and inviting them over for weddings, having the younger kids in the family being ring bearers and flower pals, all that was right up my alley, but EA just butchered it, not surprised, just sad
I have to say that I was glad to see the "italian touch" to the pack, we've seen lots of cultures included in the sims but italy was most of all just meatballs and pizza and few other stuff, the actual world and the lot italian names included also in the english version was a really nice touch, I speak for me but I think that the italian community has been happy to see this.
I kinda only bought it for the new world, for more CAS stuff, the builder stuff is cool, I love the new wedding cakes, and some the events are fun but I agree they should’ve fixed the ceremony problems
@@isabellamarie6570 those didn´t worked for me! and after seeing other reviews it didn´t work for tons of people, so it´s an issue from the pacl itself :(
This is so wild because I only play Sims 2 atm, and in 2 if you click on the wedding arch to get married, all guests (everyone on the lot technically) automatically get the activity prompt to watch it. If there are chairs in front of the arch they sit down automatically as well (it's clearly using the same logic as watching TV - if there's place to sit, sit, if there isn't, stand to watch). Once it's done, that activity falls away and guests get up to mingle again. If you bought a wedding cake, the couple can cut it, which prompts all guests to come watch the cutting of the cake. After cutting, the couple and everyone watching automatically gets the prompt to take a slice and eat it. Sims 2 came out in 2004.
Well my heart is broken. I bought this pack because I was so hyped about having my sims look cute in wedding attire. Then I saw first hand the bugs and how very little changes there were. I am just thankful that it wasn't a $39.99. It was only $19.99 which is okay. Doesn't take away from it being a disappointment and a waste of my hard earned money.
i honestly want to buy this pack for the wedding cas and the beautiful world, but without all of the buggy weddings. but unfortunately if i download it the totally fine base game weddings will be no more
I'm planning my own wedding for this june. The only good thing that came from this pack is the reassurance that my wedding CANNOT go as poorly as the ones you get with this pack

I'm disappointed.
i would have much rather waited and had a full working pack instead of this bull

At all.
I'm afraid they'll think that they are the ones doing something wrong, like they'll think that they're bad at it 😰

I was going to buy this pack once I get payed so but now I’m going to save my money cause honestly this is embarrassing.
I'mma still buy it 😂😭😂😭

For the t-pose check that your mods are up to date.

Kayla is so optimistic. When she says it’s bad, IT’S BAD.
it's actually disgusting how so many of the packs are BROKEN. people are paying real money for this garbage, and it doesn't even work!
It's not even that they couldnt, they simply dont care to. Very much not cool.

Here's my pitch for how the ceremonies themselves could potentially, actually work with the features they clearly designed this pack with:
- Have all the micro-managing of how the ceremony is supposed to go be done in the planning menu. Don't just set up a group of activities you have to check off by play during the ceremony, but an in-order, start-to-finish list of exactly what's going to happen (guests sit > officiant walk down aisle > flower pal walk down aisle > couple walk together down aisle > etc)
- Have all the wedding arches/aisles have the same kind of footprints that teacher yoga mats do (these work really well and I've never had sims try to join a yoga class by using a yoga mat in another part of the spa/gym) all chairs for the wedding should be placed within the footprint and if you don't have enough chairs for all the guests they should stand around the perimeter to the footprint to the best of their abilities (like Kayla says they're sims, I'm not expecting much)
- The ceremony should be a single click interaction "Have ceremony" (There doesn't need to be options like "..with officiant" because you set up everything in the planning menu). The sims run through the actions as you put them in your list and the game knows when the ceremony portion is over and everyone can get up a chat/do weird sim things because the list you set is done.
- You can then do other wedding things that aren't a part of the actual ceremony (take pictures, toss the bouquet, etc)
- End the wedding event whenever you want (totally agree it's a great change to have it no longer be a timed event, weddings do take all day)
Btw this is not me saying that the pack couldn't work better/at all, if the team had been given the time they needed, without a system like this.
These are really good ideas!
Yes! These are great ideas!
that's pretty much what I thought too. It should be a set script and just plug in your choices where appropriate.
But also I wish there was a small chance of at least some drama. A chance of wedding crashers kinda killing the vibe, if you invite the ex maybe they can object to the wedding, insults/fights bw guests and the wedding party say if someone wore white or didn’t follow dress code you know? I just think they’re a little too doll-like with all this and it’s sad you have to micromanage everything :(
@@avocato8156 that would be so much fun. Sims really needs some drama again.

SMDH :(
A year? Lol try 7

@@angeliquezambardi878 Yeah, musical chairs is still rampant, just for starters
Yeah I really want to play it but it's broken anyways so might as well wait for a sale and hope they fix it by then
I've come to this exact conclusion.
Or worse, Maxis hears the complaints, releases a couple of white doors and everyone goes "AHH THEY HEARD US!"
....and then they release mismatched doors.
@@kadygrant exactly!!!
The world is beautiful, the clothes are fine but it’s the experience that we bought and it’s awful
Why not? I believe that SIMS is what you make it. The worlds are the one thing I can't make. I can bulldoze every lot on the world and build new stuff. I can work around a slew of problems. A great world is worth a lot. Especially if you can get the pack half price!
Personally I don’t care I’ll still buy it and just never play with the weddings😂
You just got me nostalgic for the cutscenes! I hadn't thought about them for years.
Yeah, like plan your options and then it creates a cutscene. Or let you choose between a cutscene and the old goaled version of weddings
@@j.wa.1061 YES YES ur so smart
@@adrikosmos yeah, that would be the perfect scenario
i cant believe they broke weddings even more with a WEDDING THEMED PACK omfg i'm literally gonna disable the pack every time i have a wedding
There is not enough gameplay to justify this being a gamepack, without the world and removing a couple cas and buy items, this would be on the same level as the spooky pack!
lowkey wish it was a stuff pack bc the build items are beautiful but I don't wanna pay stuff pack prices for it
No they wanted more money that all it is but yes this should golf been a stuff pack

Yeah sounds like there’s a lot of micro managing...taking up a lot of time
Totally
I really wanted the option to organise the wedding and relax a little once it actually started
Like you can select the events that you want (spousal kiss, cutting the cake etc) but you still have to manage it yourself
It'd be so much better if you could select the order then get pop up options like when your sim is at work, I.e "Your sim is about to say their vows, but the stress is making their brain go fuzzy! Do they try and do it from memory or ask a best sim to help them out?" Then when you select a choice it plays a fitting animation
Plus I feel like there's no real impact with their traits and relationships.
That’s so sad but I’m sorry...that’s so funny...picking up the whole cake and washing it away in the sink bahahha😂🤭
Okay but was that somebody‘s ex lol (I‘m so sorry this sucks)
This is hilarious! XD
In my game, I’m 100% sure that Caleb Vatore would be the one washing the cake in the sink, cause he’s always running around washing dishes for other people by himself (I don’t even know why but I leave him be cause he’s cute when he does that xD).
But we should not need mods
modders shouldn't fix developers' issues. that's why we pay for this game, to work properly...
Not the devs fault for not fixing, but EA for selling it.
What are console users supposed to do?

-Very glitchy
Sounds like they need to immediately plan a pack refresh for this one haha. I probably won't buy it until they do a very necessary update and fix it :(
Yeah, they need bug fixes immediately. They also need Bach Parties that actually ACT like Bach Parties. Why don't they reuse the firefighter dance? Do it Sims 3 style, cops and firefighters and doctors show up and do a silly sexy dance and try to flirt with the "bach"? That ONE thing would improve this pack immeasurably for me.
I feel the same way. I was so hype for this pack :(
This sounds a lot like my experience with dream home decorator: the cas and build objects are fantastic, but I have never had the career work.
That has never happened to me, maybe Bria's issue with mods could be a problem for you too?
It works completley fine for me!! Sometimes the house renovation reveal skips by accident but they still give me ratings and stars and i still level up maybe it’s cuz i’m on xbox ?? Idk it’s kindve glitchy for me but everything works , just sometimes the sims will walk through walls but i think that’s base game
This happened to me in the beginning but it turns out I never gave my Sims any Decor likes and dislikes. After I did that, it started to work and I got paid.
I played with Dream Home Decorator a grand total of *once*. It is SO bad.
Honestly I don't think we've had a good GP since, like, Parenthood.
In fact they made a very low-quality pack and then tried to "fix" the situation by adding a lesbian story and rainbow colour changes for furniture and dresses, which didn't work.

it depends on your gameplay! but in terms of one expansion, one game pack, and one stuff pack i’d do seasons, parenthood, and cool kitchen stuff :)
i'm not kayla obviously, but there are videos where she's ranked the packs! if you want my opinions, i'd say seasons, parenthood, and tiny living if you want one of each :)
if just EP's, I'd say seasons, cats and dogs and maybe either cottage living or get together! (depends on what you prefer to do/what styles you prefer)
I was gonna say, I've heard her rank seasons at the top a lot lol. She also has a couple tier videos that may help deciding 😊
@@aidanp9184 I agree but Maybe buy Tiny Living instead of cool kitchen stuff!
@@xxxxxmelisita35xxxxx I don’t know if you would have grounds to stand on but give it a go!
it’d be nice if you could still do regular base game weddings even with the pack installed bc at least then you could still successfully have a wedding by not using the pack-version wedding event but still have the pack cas & build/buy items. it sucks that it replaces the default wedding event with a broken wedding event.
Oh that really is bad! Really really bad.it’s like they want Sims 4 to fail and die as quickly as possible at this point.
I've heard that the Sims team has way more designers than actual developers/engineers
Now it's just disappointing how bad they messed this up
Edit: Plus, I forgot, the sims reactions and moodlets. The sims reaction at your wedding and you can announce your wedding, the flower pals and normal wedding stuff like that was a HUGE factor on why I wanted this pack so bad. Even the small thing of walking up and down the aisle! Too bad it's so bugged
and i think just being able to walk down to isle and have the guests SIT TF DOWN should have been base game
I have bought almost every pack for the sims and I have never been this disappointed. My wedding was unplayable. They knew this pack was broken but were just greedy. At this point I’m so frustrated that I think I’m done supporting EA.
i’m glad i held out to see you play the final software on twitch very disappointing that the pack is still buggy
I’m shook with the state of the pack that they would even let creators review like do they expect you to say it’s good I am confusion
Ecactly💀
They should have brought back those animated scenes so when it's time to actually get married, you just trigger the animation with all the sims you chose in their roles.
Saw your stream yesterday and I feel your pain, bestie
Missed opportunity for this pack. They should have added a double bike ride or like a carriage ride or something. Romantic and fun.
A carriage ride w horses would’ve been so cute 😭
This will come in a kit. It will be called Wedding vehicles 😂😂😂

For anyone, like me, that's HIGHLY considering disabling this pack JUST to have the old wedding system back after trying it once and nearly throwing your game out the window, James Turner's website has a section for how to do it. (Also for anyone wondering how to reenable it later if you so desire, I looked it up and all you have to do is remove the command you put in via the way you put it in in James' instructions on his website)
(EDIT) just tried it, works great and brings back the old wedding system.
They could have tried to push it to June, which is often seen as "the wedding month"
Broken Sims game: *exists*
Call me Kevin: This is PERFECT
I'm bummed they messed up this pack so badly. I was so excited about it. Hopefully they fix it sooner rather than later. 😞🙄
Dine out hopes the same

"But hey Cowplant cake topper"
Lmfaoo this caught me completely off guard 😂😂
Pretty sad when we are excited by 9 buildable lots lol. I mean, there's room for way more! But yes, anything is better than Magnolia Promenade hahaha
*cheeky grin*
Have a great night and happy Simming! xo
PS if you created any of your lots and you have them on the gallery, please give me your ID!
as much as i love the cas stuff i just cannot see myself having to go through all those tedious interactions for a wedding, but with that being said i'm not even disappointed bc i knew this pack was gonna be hella glitchy. this is something that has never ever been done in the sims 4 before and the tracking with sims is already screwed up (why do sims still prefer the bathroom sink when washing dishes?) hopefully in the next patch they can fix these bugs bc the pack was marketed really really well
With mine, there isn’t an option to schedule when the wedding starts, it starts immediately. Then, my guests usually don’t show up. And no one follows any of the commands at all. My last wedding attempt lasted 47 hours somehow too
lollll that’s also how long it takes to have your sims eat dinner with dine out 😭 i hate ea
i feel like the micromanaging of interactions could be solved by adding a single command like "start ceremony" to the aisle menu
I'm not a programmer but a girl can dream, right?
Kayla, this was SUCH a balanced review. You THROUGHLY outlined the things that are GOOD about the pack and how much they TRIED to do, but still holding them accountable. Other Sim RUclipsrs REALLY don’t do this.
In conclusion: It's broken, don't buy it. Not worth your money whatsoever. Extremely little effort put into it. If you paid for it, sorry.
I will buy it. Mostly for the world. Also there’s a mod that fixes some of the bugs.
Imagine paying for this game at all
Biggest problem with sims in general, is the days are not long enough to complete any extra tasks apart from filling needs and a bit of skill/relationship building. I use NRAS relativity mod and I literally double the day length and it is still just enough time to do extra stuff. They keep adding all this stuff with no possible way of completing any of it in a reasonable timescale
I’m definitely waiting for a bug fix before I buy, which really sucks because the world looks incredible
Yeah, same. Though as of right now, my main reason for getting the pack is the world, lol.
What’s especially sad about the pack not working is the fact that EVERYTHING that isn’t the weddings is amazing.
EDIT: so my sister tried the pack and it didnt work on her (made me more furious on ea, she saved up on that)
All that being said. Why has Carl been able to fix a lot of glitches that happen with the shipped MWS? Buy a pizza instead.
because Carl's the hero the community has but we don't deserve them in the slightest
(Some people thought she was ill, but if so it was ill with embarrassment, I suspect.)
I'm glad the EA Creative Network creators are allowed to speak out about their disappointment in how this has worked.

Everyone who bought this pack needs to flood them with refund demands. They only profit from this behavior if we let them
I was SO excited for this pack, but the way it's broken is just sad, I'll probably still get it on July because I always get bundles for my birthday, and I still want it more than I want all the gamepacks I don't have, hopefully it's fixed by then, but I doubt it, I was so excited tho, planning parties on the sims is cool, and I play legacies, so I love having huge families and inviting them over for weddings, having the younger kids in the family being ring bearers and flower pals, all that was right up my alley, but EA just butchered it, not surprised, just sad
Right like I’m sad but ima still get it ;-; also happy early birthday my son is gonna be born in July!
Have you tried to use toasts? I did and it wasn't working for me, just trying to see if its working for others.

The sigh at the start sums up most of the videos I’ve seen about this pack haha
Carl's Sims Guide has already modded a fix for this pack on PC. Sad that modders are fixing what EA messed up. AGAIN!
These bugs are the main non-selling part of the pack 😒
i honestly want to buy this pack for the wedding cas and the beautiful world, but without all of the buggy weddings. but unfortunately if i download it the totally fine base game weddings will be no more
Even though I wasn't gonna buy this pack anyway (don't really care about weddings lol), now I feel better about my decision 😂
