    To achieve sharper shadows, you can reduce the scale of the light source not globally (S), but in the bulb settings using the Size parameter. In order to prevent the brightness of the light from increasing during global scaling (S), you need to enable the Keep Instance Power parameter in the Black Body Emission node. This will maintain a constant brightness.

    exactly what noticeable advantages does Octane have over Cycles? maybe it's a good idea for a new video... Awesome content in your channel btw 💜

      I have various settings in Blender - maybe I will do a tutorial on that - but i can not comment so many things on RUclips - you need to be more specific :D @@occy1506

    Hello Jonas. is it possible to adjust the projection so that it doesn't tile (keep repeating). I've been trying but I couldn't figure it out. Thank you for the great tutorials as always.

    • @JonasRoenn
      @JonasRoenn  Год назад +2

      Hey Grimstore! play around with the "border mode" in the image tex node - set them both to "clamp value" for example. let me know if it worked out for you :D

      @1polygonewithme Год назад

      I think you can change it to clip white or clip black

    I assume the scaling thing is basically what Blenders size settings ddo for normal area lights.

    Is there a way to change the hardness of the light in Octane as in Cycles? To make the lines between light and shadows less visible

    • @JonasRoenn
      @JonasRoenn  Год назад +1

      Hey Farhad - hmm not as I'm aware - when using image textures you can get harder lines by scaling the light as shown in the tutorial. You could also do it manually with place to planes in front of the line very close. But I agree, need to find a smarter way as with cycles!

      @@farhadkhosravi4630if you click on the light properties on the right side of yourblender menu click on light sized which would be set to 1meter make it smaller it will change how sharp the shadows are
