    Great thanks mate! I always import textures as psd file, helps to speed up the workflow a bit when you jump between Blender and Photoshop :)

    Amazing tutorial Jonas. For the inverted UV, you can select the whole portion and just hit S X -1 and it will invert the UV. You don't have to flip the logo in photoshop file that way. :)

    Could you please share your overall experience with Octane compared to Cycles? Thank you for the tutorial!

    • @JonasRoenn
      @JonasRoenn  10 месяцев назад +3

      My overall experience is that they are both amazing - though i do like the way Octane handles colors with the ACES workflow. Furthermore, post processing in Octane is awesome and they have better and more mature features 🙌 but… Cycles have come a Long way, but Octane is more Industry standard and i just like the look of it more 😅 but you can achieve the same in Cycles. But i just get it faster in Octane. But difficult to answer just here on one comment, there are a lot of aspects

      @@JonasRoenn Thank you for the response! I think it's time to learn Octane.

      @@JonasRoenn I'm sure I'll like it! If it will help me land more client projects... I'm glad! (last question) Can I do cloud rendering with Octane for Blender in some way? Like I use RenderStreet for Cycles.

    As time gone, i really like to use bump node of octane instead of using displacement honestly it gives insane results without increasing sizes of actual object. But it depends on your scene

    • @JonasRoenn

      I agree! the bump node is sooo underrated, should have said that in the tutorial haha :D

    Hey!
    I just stumbled upon your channel and have to say that your tutorials are amazing! Also fun to see another photographers approach to 3D as I am just starting to learn with the same background myself :-)
    This might be a stupid question, but does the Octane Texture Displacement create real geometry displacement or is like a bump map? And if that's the case, do you know if it's possible to export the mesh with the displaced geometry?

    • @JonasRoenn
      @JonasRoenn  7 месяцев назад +1

      hey Gummi! glad you liked it and nice with your photography background!
      as far as I know, it uses the same geometry that's already in the scene :D

    How it’s being Octane into Blender? I’m looking for a new Render engine but for GPU animations, so I think that I’ll go back to RS.
