Got some family visiting so a little late in catching up on your video. Glad to see Felix is recovering nicely. That Key Lime pie looked so creamy. I totally relate to dropping food, Amanda. Lol. Oh Mitzuken! I went to Kamehameha where that was our go to spot along with Ken’s. The breakfast special was our jam. Students would always be driving down to pick loads of them up for everyone because they were so cheap. The OG garlic chicken spot.

Go to Mizu-ken all the time when I come visit my Mom from Southern CA. She lives right below Tripler. Grew up in Lanakila and played at Alewa park all the time besides Kunawai park. Hard to get to all the places where I grew up when I visit. My kids and now grandkids are experiencing those places. Mahalo for doing the reviews.

Oh man... I was ono for Mitsuken's garlic chicken and sushi but they were closed. We went across the street and ate at Hong Nien. It was ono but didn't fix the craving for garlic chicken. Still not decided who makes the best though. What you think??? Sugoi's is pretty good too. I do like Mitsu-ken's sushi too. Jan at Hawaiian Pie Co. is a classmate. This girl can bake .

Love Hawaiian Pie Co! Grandpa and family make some great pies. We discovered them when they had a pop-up store in Nordstrom at Ala Moana and left with our arms full. They are definitely worth a 5-second rule if you drop a piece, especially on your own table... 😂

Believe or not, I've never been to Mitsuken. I've always gone to Mitsuba. How does their garlic chicken compare to Mitsuba's version? My friend swears by Mitsuba's. Mahalo for clarifying the difference between Hawaiian cuisine and local Hawaii cuisine.
BTW, that foldout picnic table is great. Ours lasted for about 25 years until we loaned it out to friends.
