I could listen to the beautiful music all night. My best friend used to teach Hawaiian dance and had a small Troup and they performed for seniors in nursing homes. I did a little dancing with them 😊🌺 This video brought me some nice memories.

Your first attempt at popoki was right on Kitra! So just a little background since I commented before, the musician who shaka'd at you is Kamuela Kimokeo, and he's a music teacher at University if Hawaii. The older gentleman is Jerry Santos and he's a well known recording artist here, has had multiple albums released on his own and with his group 'Olomana since the 70's :)

It was the most beautiful evening under the stars that we have kept in our hearts since that day.

I think Kitra is lucky that Peter is wearing glasses 'cause sometimes I think Peter's eyes might pop out of his head when he tastes something really good and accidentally hit Kitra! Also love how Peter, on a whim, decides to change the rating system. 4/4 Peters! The mistakes and the claims of "We don't know what we are doing" is what keeps me coming back to watch Ordinary Adventures! You guys are great and the content is exceptional! Aloha, Peter and Kitra! So glad you enjoyed Hawaii.
The Hawaiian language is very easy to pronounce, because the vowels only have one sound, so it's exactly like Spanish vowels. So Ukulele is not you-kah-lay-lee, but just ooo-koo-lay-lay.
'Olelo means "language, words," so the bar was created around the three of teaching the Hawaiian language to visitors. In the past, the staff and bartenders would give you a quick lesson to help you pronounce the words and understand the significance of the spoken word in Hawaiian culture, but I'm guessing that COVID has caused staff reductions and social distancing requirements that prevent them from doing that right now.
And glad you liked those fries... in Hawaii, we love to put mochi crunch and furikake on our popcorn at the movie theaters, so that's a take on that (even elevated to greater goodness).
Always love your videos, and looking forward to more of your adventures!

    1) Peter's brows are more and more reminiscent of Groucho Marx (for younglings, search "You Bet Your Life" game show, or Night at the Opera)

Hi Kitra and Peter! I don’t know if you mentioned it in one of the videos but what service did you guys go through to book Aulani??? You guys have inspired me to take the family this year!

Fun fact. That wooden piece connected to the chopsticks (has Mickey on it)... it’s a “chopstick holder”. If you ever need to place your chopsticks on the table between bites.

I know this is a year old post, but THANK YOU for these great videos! We are going in January and have watched them all and you guys are suddenly feeling like family! Anyway, Question about Aulani, if you ever come here to see comments.... Are you allowed to make food in your villa and bring it outside/downstairs with you? Can I make my kiddo's pb&J lunches for instance and carry them down? Same goes for adult beverages... can we bring in our own? Thank you in advance!

Have so much fun! Of course you can make your own food. The Dvc villa rooms have fridges and a kitchenette and stuff.

    Kitra
Furikake is pronounced Foo-ree-kah-kay ( the k's are soft) a type of seasoning for rice, some kinds use dried shredded bits of seaweed "paper", some don't.
