Each time I watch this, I can't breath. Heart-wrenching but inspirational. Talking of learning in the schoool of hard knocks. This is it.
How. The. Hell. Did. That. Bird. Survive. I cried laughing at the end 😂 unbelievable
It didnt 99%, that was not the same bird - nice try by BBC tho :)
Due to the bird having a high surface area to mass ratio, having a decent amount of air resistantance and luck. Also a couple million years of natural selection.
Oh God! the little squeaks it made whenever it hit of the rocks! This is somehow heartbreaking yet exhilarating at the same time. Incredible footage!
Dont be fooled by sound effects which are added in the BBC editing studio later to make it sound realistic.
another one is fooled lol.
underpantswedgy
From 1:47 to 1:57 you can see it moves.
***** They add sound effects of the animals that are impossible to reach by the camera crew. I It is fact! Of course all animals aren't hard to reach, so no need to add sound effects.
underpantswedgy I see... and your point is?
Most epic way to enter into the world is ironically also the most epic way to exit.
About the only thing I’ve seen on bbc that’s truthful in a long time.
Perfect Landing ,10/10
How da hell did that duckling survived Oo
"The Perfect Launch!"
A little dazed?! That's amazing!
I held my breath all the way down and winced at every crash. Nice of the parents to greet the baby at the bottom! I wonder what social services would say? Probably, "What were you thinking? and the parents' response, "We were told to bring them up tough!" The child then peeped in, "There's got to be a better way! What did I do to deserve parents like this!"
most badass shit Ive ever seen
I thought only Homer Simpson could survive to that.
The irony about this is that if a human fell like that there would be only an omlet left from him at the bottom.
lol this made my day
How is that irony?
@@remotefaith It's bad when you don't know what words mean and you lack critical reading abilities. We are looking at a baby chick, which we associate with eggs and what do we associate eggs that fall from high with? Omelett's. So if I human falls from such a hight he will be splattered really bad(I assume) and what can we associate that with when the theme is birds? Eggs... so something that we would otherwise make an omelett out from didn't become an "omelett", yet if a human falls we will become an omelett.... irony. The usage of the word is right on point, so try being edgy somewhere else.
Making me respond to 4 year old comment and explain critical reading...
@@xingbairong A simple question triggers an emotional, dim-witted and nonsensical screed-typical youtube. I sleep so well at night knowing that I'm nothing like people like you.
"3 2 1, Fuck it I'm leaving home"
Wow that goose was absolutely barnacles.
Holy shit the editing of the baby chirps every time the baby hits the cliff gets be every time
so true😂
So funny it evens sounds (0.08) like the honking mother is saying jump, jump ! lol
the squeaks he made everytime he hit the rocks made me laugh harder than it should have
when i watched this episode my heart was racing for these poor chicks. I think, if i recall correctly, 3 out of the 5 survived, which makes it even more sad.
They actually filmed two families i think the most upsetting part was when the first family (not the one we see in this) had their surving chicks eaten by a fox right after landing... like you cant really blame the fox but damn you nature.
yeaah true
YOLO
Just watched the first episode. This was epic. I loved how they showed how the footage was shot.
It's like when Homer tried to jump the springfield gorge..."Then came the rocks -- jagged rocks, hitting me with their jags"
SOMETIMES ONE GOSLING BRAVER THAN A WHOLE ARMY OF PEOPLE
This is almost heartbreaking. :'(
That's the kind of chicken Chuck Norris eats...
Or the chicken that eats Chuck Norris ;)
Bless his little heart! He got me worried for a minute there... :P
"jeah well mum, that fucking sucked!"
La vita è bellissima !
La natura è bellissima !
Beato chi ci crede ...
Keerist! I thought the little bugger had bent his beak good and proper.
it's amaizing , a baby brant goose jumps to a risk
I cried a little...
WTF Evolution?!!
this duck is so cool
1:59 "WTF is wrong with you, kid?"
Absolutely amazing such a great jump and so perilous but love that look at 2:00 from a parent. Just seen my first Barnacle yesterday
The slow kids become gosling pulp which the parents probably fight over and eat.
seems asthought a barnacle can survive things in its youth others couldnt dream of
Reminds me of Homer Simpson sliding out of the gurney & falling down the side of the canyon.
It's alive!
This is sparta!!!!!!!
Most fucking hardcore thing to do I ever seen. Jump down heads on straight up to the cliff rocks...Damn that gosling goes hard. Respect
That's one way to teach kids some damn respect
how the hell did the gosling survive that jump? certified bass ass!!!!
1:58
u 'avin a giggle there m8?
reminds me of adolescence
It's impossible that little nugget is still alive!!
That bird represents me during all week till Friday night
During the video: 0.0
After the video: Fyewf!
This is legit what I do on the staircase when I'm drunk.
im pretty high right now, i have had to watch a few times. I can just not fathom how they can survive that fall.
Juan Carlos Fernández Conde im fuckin high rite now too. dunno how any1 can survive that
Húúú, fantasztikus felvétel...!!!
OMG no wasted.
I heard it took them 3 months to film this. That must take some patience.
Human : i have a hard life
Artic goose: patethic
Just stunning footage!
This is Spartaaaa!!!
1:59 what you looking at mate?
Not a broken bone, not even a scratch. Are they even real?!
0:20 me "fuck I dropped my beer! Hang on Boiz I'll be right back"
My friend 2:00 "holy fuck you ok bro?"
2:02 "I'm good man and look not a single drop fell out. I still got it"
the chick is lucky
Now...the gosling which hits after the long drop at 0:48 looks kinda dead to me (gets a lot of rotation). And in the next shot right after is just another one which luckily survives the jump.
still amazing though.
Q grande es la Naturaleza :) :)
Dam! He survived from this fall?
Cette longue et agonisante chute me fesait penser à ma vie ! LOL^^
To me this is a powerful parable of putting faith and trust in the voice of one we know loves us even though we have no means ourselves and no proof. We can take a leap of faith in God's mercy and Providence for each of us personally even in the dying process of terminal illness. Notice the little bird didn't just crawl over the edge, it LEAPT !! I think the only fitting response to the tremendous love of our Saviour is total abandonment. Let's not take the assisted suicide route and miss the whole point and our transformation into the fully human person and saint He calls each one of us to be!
I know, Paketik, but following my analogy, even if such a leap of faith does end in physical death, eternal life most certainly opens up to such a one. Eternal life full of love, with God and all the others who dare to trust. see all the saints stories. We're all called to be saints, even very little ones. as far as the actual gosling is concerned, I think I'd rather die quick like that than be grabbed by a preditor. I know that's sad but it's all part of the balance in nature. One holy man told me that it's part of 'original sin' in nature and in Heaven, where Christ has conquered all sin through His outpouring on the cross, the lion will lie down with the lamb. sorry to preach but it means so much tome that you understand
What is the survival rate? The baby goose that you show at the end with no fructure at all, wasn't the same that twice smashed in the rocks ?!....
Rosen Stefanov Yes it was
Rosen Stefanov any other bird would probably be schnitzel by the time they make it down
Rosen Stefanov About half die during or right after the drop.
me wen the final exams start
this is SO SO SO SO freaky
How the hell did that thing survived this?!
Give it time and REDBULL will be all over this!
The bird at the end has to be a different one...how?? what?? seriously?? Someone studies the bone structure of those birds now if that is true!!! make planes with those bones!! or bulletproof jackets or whatever that needs to be strong!!!
Dumas G it's actually quite the opposite. The bones are weak. They can still bend and move easily absorbing much of the damage without breaking. It's the same with human babies, when the bones are still in development they fracture less easily than say in your 15th year or older.
It also helps that the bird is so small.
Incredible!!!
wow!!! beutiful
AMAZING!
nature's vaccination

this is the last chick jumping ..@BBC, what have happened with the others..how many of them survived?
Does anyone know what music is played in the background before the chick jumps off the cliff? PLEASE, thank you! xx
Don't be silly.
