I'm addicted to my phone and i always feel bored and empty when I'm not scrolling Instagram like a 'nothing to do' feeling. Everytime i tried to put my phone away i always end up grabbing it again and opening applications. I really wanted to get rid of this habit and i think Faye's videos will help me in this as well(it always did) the amount of motivation and willingness i achieve from her always thrives me in reshaping my routine. I got another hack from my mother: switch off your phone and give it to someone else and only switch it on 1 hour in the morning and 1 hour at night....

These are great tips! I have also kept my phone silent for like five years, no sound notifications, never 😂 if somebody is calling i’ll feel the vibration and that has to be enough. Sometimes notifications have vibrations also but I have deleted it for almost all apps, except important ones. And I have turned off notifications completely from apps that I don’t need until I open the app. Social media apps are away from my home page, addictive useless ones even in the folder hidden away. Life is so much easier now. And in iPhone you can select important contacts that gets through always, like my family, even during night!

I started using ig about 10 days ago after my exams , as i was new i became bit addicted but because of being self awared, from 6 hrs of whole day now shifted to 1 hr of two slots in a day .. try managing ur time and seeing every notification at the time is not imp. Try seeing them all at one slot , coz it will take minimal time.. and whole other day will be spent productively!!...

I’m not addicted to my phone anymore. For me Insta and TikTok were the hardest ones so I deleted the apps. I only use the web version of Instagram and only allow myself to download TikTok on one weekend evening every week. Doing this has made me fall back into more fulfilling hobbies like reading and playing video games! :)
Another great help in reducing your screen time is downloading the app „forest“ (you sadly have to pay for it but I think there are also free options) where you plant a tree for a selected amount of time. When you close the app while the tree is growing it will die. So if you want to keep your tree alive you just have to put ur phone away haha
I'm seeing your vid for the first time I'm in 10th standard lm even using RUclips after 3 days i study for 10-11 hours a day i would just like to say that these things won't work like just watching motivation and daily routine vids these things would never work you are like watching motivation vids for an hour and then Studying for half an hour these are useless until you understand you responsibility and your productivity and contribution to your country
Overall, my screen time isn’t one of my main concerns- at least with my phone, which is usually 2/3hrs on average. I’d also say screen time on things like laptops and tablets (which I use in place of a laptop) is also fine, because I find the time I spend on these devices beneficial, whether it’s work related or enjoyment like watching telly or playing games. The main reason why I’m conscious of my screen time on my phone is because I know (unless I’m talking to friends or doing fun things like posting on TikTok) it’s not time spent in a way I find beneficial. The apps I have on my phone are ones I downloaded because they’re useful or make me happy, ie news apps, communication, or fun things like photo editing or social media. This makes my phone a more positive space, but I still find myself doom scrolling. One of the thing I do to prevent this is by deciding how I’m going to direct my focus. If I’m doing a task like tidying my room, I may also use my phone to listen to a podcast because my main focus is a physical activity but I know I’d enjoy additional mental stimulation. If I was going to watch a film, I may keep some crochet or fidget toys handy because I want to enjoy the film, but I know I get fidgety. I don’t want to scroll through Instagram because I’ll miss out on the film, so having something not tech related to keep my hands occupied really helps. I’ve also recently cut out things like Snapchat streaks because I found the false feeling of connection it created made me feel lonely and effected my mental health, so instead I send my friends regular good morning messages as it is still a reason to connect with each other daily but also in a way that feels more personal and purposeful than streaks

I made a decision to go 48 hours with no screen time whatsoever. It was insane. I was happy af and it felt like I was in a whole new world. I noticed so many people on their phones and felt so grateful that I wasn't on it. BEST 2 DAYS EVER!!

A tip that relates to Faye's last tip! :if the brand of your device has a special feature such as 'hide apps', you may want to hide the social media apps such as Facebook, Tiktok, Twitter and Instagram. I have a Samsung Galaxy model in which I will always require to open my settings>>apps>>social media app>> open. This could be time consuming, but atleast it is a strategy of not considering wasting your time in opening such applications. You're welcome!

the reason I was so addicted to my phone was bc I would chat with my onlines and irls LIKE CRAZY. im a very lazy person (this helps with not downloading the app again bc I just dont have the energy to do so lmfao) and my iPad heats up like crazy when I try to download an app and I literally hate insta on laptops so I decided the best way to get rid of the insta addiction was to delete it from my iPad ive had it deleted for about 3 days and so far so good I still have tiktok but I decided to not have any of my friends know my acc so they dont start messaging me there (I apologised to them and said that I need to take a break bc of exams so they know what's going on) and I neither have WhatsApp so I basically stopped texting. I still text from my laptops insta but since typing on a keyboard isn't the funnest thing imo its rlly easy for me to say bye to the person im talking to

Hi! I found you yesterday and your videos are absolutely helpful for someone who suffered with eating disorder, anxious depression and had problems with my family constantly fighting. I just literally forgot how to learn, had zero motivation and lost all of my hobbies. I also experienced constant tiredness which wasn’t helpful to my studies at all. I’m gonna be now in 3rd year of high school and I really want to work hard to improve my low grades, to explore myself and which major on college would be right for me. I’m afraid though that with my bad grading I’m not going to be able to do my exams or get into some college or university. It’s not like I’m dumb or something. I just had orthorexia mixed with anorexia for about 5 years until I was fully recovered. Now as a result I have problems with overeating and I really want it to stop. But I know It is what often happens after eating disorders. It was quite hard for my brain to learn new things and I also forgot lot of things I would normally remember. I completely stopped being motivated to learn because I was not good in it anymore.. and in the past I was one of the best students in my class and I got into one of the best high school in or city/town. Long story short I’m glad I found you and I’m very grateful for what you are doing and that you are putting effort and spending some of your free time on these videos. I wanted to also ask If you maybe could do something about drawing. I would love to know your story and how you managed to draw something that beautiful and get some tips for beginners maybe. It’s not like I’m beginner- I’ve been drawing a lot and very impressively during my childhood, but like I said earlier, I stopped with every hobby possible but working out and cooking, that I just don’t know where to start and how to do it again. Thank you again, but I’m just soo happy that I discovered your channel, because finally I feel motivated again and I’m willing to do anything for me to improve in every aspect of my life! The main reason why I’m conscious of my screen time on my phone is because I know (unless I’m talking to friends or doing fun things like posting on TikTok) it’s not time spent in a way I find beneficial.
The apps I have on my phone are ones I downloaded because they’re useful or make me happy, ie news apps, communication, or fun things like photo editing or social media. This makes my phone a more positive space, but I still find myself doom scrolling. One of the thing I do to prevent this is by deciding how I’m going to direct my focus. If I’m doing a task like tidying my room, I may also use my phone to listen to a podcast because my main focus is a physical activity but I know I’d enjoy additional mental stimulation. If I was going to watch a film, I may keep some crochet or fidget toys handy because I want to enjoy the film, but I know I get fidgety. I don’t want to scroll through Instagram because I’ll miss out on the film, so having something not tech related to keep my hands occupied really helps.
I’ve also recently cut out things like Snapchat streaks because I found the false feeling of connection it created made me feel lonely and effected my mental health, so instead I send my friends regular good morning messages as it is still a reason to connect with each other daily but also in a way that feels more personal and purposeful than streaks

I managed to stop myself from scrolling on Instagram and chatting on watsapp. And now I want to reduce the time I spend on youtube. I usually spend 1-2 hours on youtube only.
I wish I could mute the groupchats but such a fortunate that we high schoolers in our nation we have to make class groups to do projects and groupworks . We also have a school group where we recieve the notices . And if i dont see them I'm dead for my whole school year

Faye, can you come up with a video titled " How to concentrate at school with ADHD " As someone who has ADHD, I literally loose focus, get distracted and eventually end up blanking out at the class. Hope you will come up with a remedy for it in the future.

I made a decision to go 48 hours with no screen time whatsoever. It was insane. I was happy af and it felt like I was in a whole new world. I noticed so many people on their phones and felt so grateful that I wasn't on it. BEST 2 DAYS EVER!!
my mom hid my phone for 2 weeks to study, lemme tell you, IT WAS AMAZING!! I was so relaxed and it felt actually rewarding to go on my phone

@@rourousensei if anything, you can still use your mom's phone for research and things like that, and notify your friends about your absence, it actually feels refreshing to not be on a screen! this week, i have a holiday and i get my phone so yeah!

A tip that relates to Faye's last tip!
:if the brand of your device has a special feature such as 'hide apps', you may want to hide the social media apps such as Facebook, Tiktok, Twitter and Instagram. I have a Samsung Galaxy model in which I will always require to open my settings>>apps>>social media app>> open. This could be time consuming, but atleast it is a strategy of not considering wasting your time in opening such applications. You're welcome!
In addition: The 'hide apps' feature can be found at the home screen settings section.

My exams just got over yesterday and throught the exam season, I was struggling to get myself away from my phone. I got distracted easily while studying and my concentration time (1hr 30 min earlier) reduced to 13 min! I really wanted this to start afresh for my new year. THANK YOU Sooooo Much!💜

the reason I was so addicted to my phone was bc I would chat with my onlines and irls LIKE CRAZY. im a very lazy person (this helps with not downloading the app again bc I just dont have the energy to do so lmfao) and my iPad heats up like crazy when I try to download an app and I literally hate insta on laptops so I decided the best way to get rid of the insta addiction was to delete it from my iPad ive had it deleted for about 3 days and so far so good I still have tiktok but I decided to not have any of my friends know my acc so they dont start messaging me there (I apologised to them and said that I need to take a break bc of exams so they know what's going on) and I neither have WhatsApp so I basically stopped texting. I still text from my laptops insta but since typing on a keyboard isn't the funnest thing imo its rlly easy for me to say bye to the person im talking to

Hi! I found you yesterday and your videos are absolutely helpful for someone who suffered with eating disorder, anxious depression and had problems with my family constantly fighting. I just literally forgot how to learn, had zero motivation and lost all of my hobbies. I also experienced constant tiredness which wasn’t helpful to my studies at all. I’m gonna be now in 3rd year of high school and I really want to work hard to improve my low grades, to explore myself and which major on college would be right for me. I’m afraid though that with my bad grading I’m not going to be able to do my exams or get into some college or university. It’s not like I’m dumb or something. I just had orthorexia mixed with anorexia for about 5 years until I was fully recovered. Now as a result I have problems with overeating and I really want it to stop. But I know It is what often happens after eating disorders. It was quite hard for my brain to learn new things and I also forgot lot of things I would normally remember. I completely stopped being motivated to learn because I was not good in it anymore.. and in the past I was one of the best students in my class and I got into one of the best high school in or city/town. Long story short I’m glad I found you and I’m very grateful for what you are doing and that you are putting effort and spending some of your free time on these videos. I wanted to also ask If you maybe could do something about drawing. I would love to know your story and how you managed to draw something that beautiful and get some tips for beginners maybe. It’s not like I’m beginner- I’ve been drawing a lot and very impressively during my childhood, but like I said earlier, I stopped with every hobby possible but working out and cooking, that I just don’t know where to start and how to do it again. Thank you again, but I’m just soo happy that I discovered your channel, because finally I feel motivated again and I’m willing to do anything for me to improve in every aspect of my life!
