welcome to the netherlands! in this vlog i take you along with me to my first day at university in the netherlands as an exchange student (from aus!)! i am currently law student but my dream is to become a writer and i share in this video about my current feelings about uni and being an introvert lol. i have no idea how to make friends and thats okay. hope you all enjoy this vlog and look forward to more like this! cheers to the new semester. let's hope we get thru till the end! ₊˚🎧⊹♡

Most people here are very open and welcoming ones you get to know them, you will make friends in no time
I'm from Germany, and used to go to Russia for my exchange. Dutch people are very friendly, open and easy-going, I think. I know how daunting it can be to live abroad on your own and not speak the language, but you'll find your place. It can be overwhelming at first, but for me, it ended up being one of the best times of my life. Enjoy it. :)

Even though, I love the name Trisha and am already using it for a good character that loves writing poetry.

I love your videos so much Ana! I hope you're enjoying yourself at uni:) And don't worry, I'm sure you'll find friends at some point. I've had lots of trouble making friends before for the same reasons but my mom told me that I just had to start talking to people because maybe they're too scared to talk to me and they really need a friend. And I eventually made some friends. Obviously it's still not easy to but I just have to remember, maybe there is someone out there who needs a friend and even just having a short conversation with them would make their day.
Also no rush but are you still planning on doing the video when you read the quotes from your subscribers books? I really would love to see that one!

Making new friends at uni is always a struggle. One thing that helped me was getting into a club/being active in non class activities. Since I joined a book club, I met some nice book nerds with whom I could just talk about books. But most importantly, friendships are gained over time. So don't stress out too much :)

That was inspiring! How long are you staying in the Netherlands? I think it's brave to be an exchange student, and I'm sure you'll find friends ... perhaps there's a Bible study on campus, or you could ask the lecturer to recommend diligent some English-speaking students you could study with (even if you prefer to study alone).

I love these little vlogs!! They're so fun, especially school related things. I find myself gravited towards those kinds of videos for some reason so I really loved this! Totally relate to you worried about friends and people. It's sooo scary to go to a new place where you don't really know anyone. Especially if they speak a different language. (Lunaith isn't the name of the main character instead it's the bts member Jungkook but idk, i just changed it because the first time i wrote it. Lunaith was the imaginary character in my mind but then as i proceeded to write. the dialogues and stuff just screamed "JEON JUNGKOOK!!!" 😂

Hi Ana, omg you're so brave for doing all this and doing your best despite setbacks!! 🤍🌸 We're proud of you no matter what.
Couple of tips around dutchies (as a dutch student haha)
1. A lot of Dutch colleges do a lot, a lOT of group work, even in their lectures. Having some short conversations about even just course content will def help you get closer to people and kind of lower that threshold to talk to people!!
2. It's super normal for dutch students to catch up before class and kind of talk in groups. You'll see the difference. If you show up 15 min early and kind of know your class's hangout spot, they'll likely be very loyal and want to sit with you in class too 🤍🌷
Last tip is to really give it a week. Try for a week, then see how it goes :) Love you, good luck!!
