I'm writing for NaNoWriMo! Project name: Project Flame//Enigma Genre: Fantasy In which six students find a mysterious trap door which drops them into an unknown world. Worse, they are separated and they seemingly have turned into mythical creatures with powers. As they try to find out a way to get out, a new mystery (the enemy and its purpose) is revealed, forcing them to stay for longer.
My project is called On the Run, a dystopian thriller set in the far future. I'm estimating a word count of about 90k. It has 3 povs so it's kind of meaty lol
Good luck to everyone doing NaNo! 😊 I’m finishing the rewrite of a middle grade novel about a witch and her cat, and beginning a new draft of a fairytale retelling. Aiming for 50,000 words of writing this month!
(I think most people already know about my beloved project but I'm always here to promote. ) I hope to finish the second act of Crescent Dark this month, Crescent dark is the Squal of Nightwalkers, a dystopian YA duology. I'm also so excited about Ghostcide contracts Ana!
I found you last nanowrimo and am super glad to see you're participating again! I'm also doing NaNoWriMo today with my novel In Every Iteration, a fantasy novel and hoping to get my goal of 100k this year with it
I have just discovered nanowrimo this year and it’s giving me the motivation to get my story at least down on paper - a first draft! I am not even going to worry about the word count and trying NOT to be the editor - just writing / get it down! It’s about a horse I had - that sounds boring but there’s LOTS more to it than that ;)
Let’s strive to all reach our goals! My project this year is called gemini, and it’s really a mashup of a bunch of genres. The mains would be fantasy and horror, I suppose. I’m a little nervous about it, because it is the first in a series and I’ve only ever written stand-alones- so new challenges await. But I am excited. I’m trying to reach the usual 50k, but if I did more (bc I know the project will be longer than that) then that would be GREAT. I hope we all do well!
Happy NaNoWriMo to every participating this year! This is my first year trying NaNoWriMo, so everything is still new to me. It's a bit hard being a full time student while writing on the side in my free time, but just a remind that some writing is better than none! Good luck to everyone 🤞
High school student here, definitely is a challenge with honor classes + attempting to write a novel this month lol. I find it so awesome that there's people around my age (and even younger) that are pursuing writing a novel, whether it be just for fun or wrote for publishing! Good luck to all of us students trying to find the balance within everything 😊
Its untitled for now, I really need to come up with a title, but, it’s about something very personal to me so I’m not sharing much yet, but, it focuses on the main character who for now goes by Mr. Fox (which is his last name), I’ll give a qoute to suffice for a synopsis, “Deaths hands are still nimble. While mine are shaken and broken. They look beat up, a pianist’s hands that played for far too long. My hands are at my face, rubbing my eyes. They pull away reddend. Death resembles a dove, as I resemble a fox with a broken ribcage, splinters of bone piercing my heart. Far too gone for any help. Though Death seems to think otherwise, or at least, he’s trying to convince himself more then me.” It’s expected to be about 50,000 words maybe a bit more.
I'm doing my second rewrite of my fantasy book for Nano, and I love it so much. I feel like writing is going so much faster for me doing it that way because I already know the story and my characters, and the last time I even read the draft 2 manuscript was in December last year, so returning to them feels so special
Yay glad you're participating, your 2022 NNWM vlog was what convinced me to participate this year! I'm writing a YA sci-fi called The Dreamlinkers, about two teenagers who discover that they have the ability to appear in each other's dreams. Aiming to finish a 60k first draft in November, for an eventual 80k-90k once I've revisited.
Here’s my Nanowrimo project!! Name: Project Element Genre: Fantasy Synopsis: MC, struggling in life, runs away into the forest and has to battle all four elements (and herself) in order to get back home. My word count goal is literally anything because it’s my first nanowrimo, and I’m trying not to pressure myself at all for a certain amount, I’m just going to write and write and write! I’ll see where it takes me 😊
I love your desk set up so much!! Thanks for walking us through how you start a project :) I'm always curious about how other writers actually write hehe!!
Currently working on my book not sure of the title but I call it project Stalker. It’s a psychological thriller. It’s part of a series and I’m so excited to pound this out

I'm excited to see what you come up with for your new novel!! Mine will hopefully be my own debut, and it's called A Monster By Any Other Name. Essentially it'll be a character study about the value of life, all wrapped in dark academia, autumn, slow-burn romance, the fallout of a murder, and vampires!
I’m so happy that we’re getting Nanowrimo vlogs again. This is my second year doing Nanowrimo and I’m so excited. I’m working on a murder mystery project about six tourists in France who join a culinary arts class and the chef gets murdered. The case goes cold and thirty years later, a detective decides to solve the case.
My project is (temporarily) called: let's unpack that. Very slice of life, and my wordcount is 25,000 words (I'm working on my main novel on the side, so I had to keep it low)
I’m writing a book I don’t yet know the title of… it’s an adult fantasy about a men-eating witch trapped in a mansion by a demon with no memories of her life before. Then her sister comes to the house… PAM PAM PAAAM!! I’m hoping for 50000 words but just writing everyday is just great too :)
been debating if I wanted to do Nanowrimo or not, but iiieek I think I'm gonna do it. Just continuing my novel I started writing a couple months ago, I'm halfway through my first draft; so excited to get back into writing and seeing where this romance story takes me
I knew about Nanowrimo since 2020 but this is my first time taking the challenge. I am so excited because this time I'm confident about my novel. I love the plot twists and psychological depths (though it's pretty difficult to write but I'll just pen it down and see what happens) (I'll make a psychology student to read it. I'm lucky I know one) As I already said it's a psychological horror with thriller elements and unexpected twists. I made my friends read and their give their honest review and they all liked it. One of them had phobia of ghost but still she continued reading my 3000 words draft. She told me she got goosebumps while reading it. And literally everyone who read my book asked me to completely finish my book and publish it as soon as possible. (Sorry I don't want to brag. I have no intention to flex but I'm so excited and happy. Also this is the first time I'm content with my story idea). I was ready with the chapter wise plotting but I'm at writers block and it's pretty difficult to write down all the scenes that are there in my mind. Any tips to get rid of writer's block in one day or in less time so that I can win this Nano. I would love if you rate my idea. So if youa re interested please ask.
Huge congratulations on publishing your novel!! Also, me over here shocked that you can split screen on one monitor. How did I not know this 😫😂 Thank you, Ana!
I have one too! It's called The Ballad Of Blue. I actually started it sometime ago per my friend's request and dropped it to study the art of writing. And now I'm starting it again and grinding with the plot....Wish You all Good Luck On Your Projects!!!❤
Thank you for the video! I agree with considering nanowrimo as a motivation rather than a 'challenge'. I like to see the challenge in writing a book, I even prepared an outfit to buy once I finish my first draft, as a little treat for getting through it. But one month is short, especially considering we have other things to do. Plus my old laptop decided it was time to stop functioning yesterday😂 I had to buy a new one. The quality is amazing, but I have to get used to the new keyboard. I wish you the best with your project. I am so hyped for the release of Project Ghost. I hope it will be available to buy internationally. As for my own project, I got inspired by recent gothic books I have read to restart an old project. It's about the reunion of a dysfunctional family, years after a tragedy occured. My protagonist is determined to reveal the dark truth behind past crimes, and the implication of her own family. It's hard to explain in just a few words. Good luck everyone!! Take care of your mental / physical health as well!
I love your vids ann so much ❤ I'm new to writing and I've recently come across your channel and I'm OBBESESED!! Here is the story I'm working on: Project name: The Disliked Princess (I'll change it later cuz I don't really like the name) Genre: fantasy and romance Word count goal: 10-35k (It's my first time, so I'm not sure if I will be able to write a full length novel) It's about a princess whom has a low class power compared to her family who have a royalty/high class power (obv). They hid her powers to the public. Then one day she ran away. I'm still working on improving it because sometimes I like the story and sometimes I cringe at it 😭
Not doing NaNoWriMo in November, but am currently working on Project Moldock, a romantic mystery lgbtqia novel, with a word count goal of around 75k. Started 2 days ago and have about 1700 words so far, most written last night. I am excited to get writing and let this idea flow! Love your videos by the way!
I’m writing in Nanowrimo 2023!! Project name: The Lost Crown (yes it already has a title :D) Goal: 50,000 words since it’s nanowrimo 2023 I’m on schedule with my word count EXACTLY. Right now I’m working for 10000 words bc that’s on the “path of success.” Yesterday I got 8,333 words out of 8,333 words. I’m so excited for this nanowrimo season :D
My project is called Rain, and its about a girl who can see ghosts and they are her friends but one day she meets a new girl in school and they start talking and soon become really good friends. The MC starts to push away her ghost friends and starts to catch feelings for the new girl, eventually they start dating but it doesn’t last long before things start to fall apart and they break up and don’t talk anymore. As the MC try’s to get her ghost friends back she starts to be depressed but then her best friend comes by and try’s to make her feel better and try to get the others to start talking to her again. And soon they will all be friends again and stuff, I haven’t thought that far yet. But ya
I wasn't originally going to participate in NaNoWriMo this year, but ended up with a complex idea halfway through October. I'm writing a BL novel about bicycle racing. I don't really have a word count goal, although I'd be happy if I reach 50k words by the end of November, but if I'm happy with the story, then I'll call Nano a success regardless of how many total words it is or if it's a completely finished book. Anyways, good luck to everyone on your personal writing projects.
Hi there! I'm so excited for NaNoWriMo, because I'm looking forward to rediscovering the joy of writing I had when I was in elementary and middle school. It's not too much about the word count, although it would be awesome to get 50,000 words at the end! My book is more like short story installments following a Saturnite alien named Muna and her human friend Veda as they try to escape Muna's mother and prevent the end of the world via alien invasion 😊
So excited for more of Project Orchestra! But this is my first time doing NaNoWriMo, my project is just called project ODF 😅, it's a historical fantasy with dark academia vibes, but it's my first time attempting to write a novel and pushing myself like this so my word count goal is 25k instead, just excited to see how far I get. Your videos have helped a lot with my prep by the way!
im writing for nanowrimo!! its more for my personal gain im not aiming for big things. name: listen to me im not really sure the genre it fits quite a few. basically the book is centred around a woman who suffers from loneliness and insomnia. She creates this image in her head of a romantic partner who she talks to and the story focuses on how she recovers and learns to branch out and enjoy her own company. this is still in the first draft so im open to any ideas or criticism! good luck to anyone writing !! xx
This is my second NaNoWriMo. I'm writing Nobody's Woman, a Gothic romance set in the Roaring Twenties. I won last year because I had a broken leg, and this time I have to balance with life, but I'm sure that everything is going to go great again.
I am doing my first nano this year! Project Name: Project B.L Genre: Drama and Romance Word Count Goal: 50k Overall the book is about a country girl meeting a rich boy. Main theme is opposite attracts :)
This is my 4th novel I am working on and I've done NaNoWriMo for years. This will be Part 2 of my 4th novel I am adding words to. It's a science fiction edutainment novel.
I'm doing NaNoWriMo for the first time!! I'm working on my project Iris. Genre: Fantasy Word goal: 50,000 words I don't think I'll make it to my goal but I'm just doing this for fun, and I need to start writing more. I have never written anything like the novel I'm doing now but I love everything about it and want my characters to come to life. Hope you enjoy NaNoWriMo ana!!! ❤
Im participating in NaNo as well, (first year!) and my project is called Project When East Meets West, which is a Fantasy about 5 teens/young adults from different courts have to help nourish, develop and use a power source that could help them win a very long war. Love your video Ana! 🤛👌🤷🏼♀️
thank you for this video, it gave me so much motivation to write! my book is titled 'mirage' and it is a fantasy book set in an arabic desert with a whole cool magic system
Literally, too dysfunctional to do NaNoWrimo but here is the project I’m working on rn Project: Unit/Godkiller Genre: fantasy Plot: in a world where there are Units/Crowns. Crowns have Control and Sense where they can sense emotions with touch and control peoples mind and body. Units only have Sense. Units are slaves. The mc is crippled and and has all the powers. And then, the rest is history
@@auturumq hi, lol, I do remember u, and I’m soooo glad someone is interested. [if you want, I can copy and paste the prologue.] Basically, these Crown have lied to Units since time began. They gave them false gods and built a system up from the ground. The Units are nothing but free labor/slaves to the Crown. They don’t have names [it’s just numbers] and can’t wear color. There are a lot more stuff about this world. Idk what to say next. Just tell me what other stuff u want to know :)
I think nano is acctually gonna be better for my own mental health and my project's lol My project is about this girl who 'accidentaly' unalives someone and is then send to a boarding school for troubled childeren only to discover she has magical powers and so does everyone in the school :) hope i get it done
my nano project doesn't really have a name. well, it -was- project Naming but I've squashed a few things together since then lol. I'm also cheating by writing worldbuilding/outline instead of the actual first draft BUT I'm having fun and progressing so I think it's fine.
My project is called Fate’s Chess. My goal is about 50-60k words for my draft (which I’m working on right now) it’s low fantasy and it’s about magical girls and boys
My project is under alias {azure}, and is about secrets of a haunted circus on an island far off the coast of England featuring a sapphic romance. Word count is around 80k. This is my first time doing NaNoWri Mo so I have high hopes. eeeeeeeeep Ig the genre is gothic fix with fantasy sprinkled for taste.
Hi! For anyone interested here’s my NaNo project! Name:Project Empire Word count goal:50k Genre:Fantasy 2 Queens start a war which soon spreads through all 4 kingdoms of the empire. What started as a misalliance will turn to an all out war and those who choose to fight it can only pray to survive. Will they find a peaceful solution or will the empire burn under the flames of war? (I’m terrible at blurbs/explaining this book unfortunately)
I guess brazillian writers/students are going through so much this month, this sunday we have the biggest college exam of our country and Nanowrimo and a lot of things to do since the end of our school year is getting closer... I just wish to write in peace lmao
Project name: Crossed Lines Genre: historical fiction Plot: the oldest daughter of a wealthy aristocrat in the immediate years before and during the Civil War runs away from home to join the Union Army as a nurse I’m working so hard to just write and not get bogged down in the details!
My book is in the fantasy adventure genre I think I plan on writing it but I can't... I dunno why But Bc im a really visual person and maybe because I really struggel to write my prologue Bc it reveals the villain and her desire on the first half she is representation as the good grandmother and the other half is her evil side Has anyone tips on how to write this sort of prologue? I really apoticate every tips you can give me :0
I'm also working on NaNoWriMo, My project is called: Golden Betrayal Genre: Fantasy It's where a girl who shouldn't exist because of a rule gets discovered and has to start a rebellion
I’m writing a NaNoWriMo! It’s my first time so I’m excited. Project name: Project I-Doll Genre: Literary Fiction Description: K-pop rookie girl group S.T.A.R has just had their big break with their album going viral in the States. They are ready to repeat that with their next but with secrets of pasts coming out of the dark and personal lives becoming too much to handle can this group of friends overcome it or will the cracks in their seemingly perfect image just be too big to cover? I hope to get at least halfway done with this story or finish the full thing. I don’t want to publish traditionally so I’m just going to publish online on Tapas as a web novel
Its not really a nanowrimo project, but i really want to finish it. At the Moment i have like 10.400 Words and I want to reach like between 60.000 -- 70.000 Words. Its something like a western period drama and its based on true charackters like Frank and jesse James. It plays in usa between 1864 and 1892
My project is named Writhe, it's a horror/thriller my word count goal is 50k, it's about a girl who wakes up in a different body each day, and right before midnight, the same guy kills her.
@@YTYourLocalBookNerd I like to write in first person. Question what do you think of this poem I wrote called The Man and the Girl? The man gives me roses to love. The man gives me gifts to have. The man gives me money to spend. Then he met the girl and left me. The man gives her roses to love. The man gives her gifts to have. The man gives her money to spend. Then the man and the girl got married and not me.
guess whos writing for NaNoWriMo! Project name: Project fallen enchantments Genre: Fantasy Word count goal: 45000 (i dont feel comfortable sharing my idea
Good luck everyone, even if u arent doing nano, writing is hard. My project name: Project Amour ( love) Genre: YA, romantasy, mystery Word count: 50k for nano but hopefully around 80k in the end! So now her and Bellinor have to play together, though on that day you learn you also have to fall in love with someone and break someones heart while playing this game and find Amor.
Just continuing my novel I started writing a couple months ago, I'm halfway through my first draft; so excited to get back into writing and seeing where this romance story takes me
good luck on project.o ana!! i'll be over here still working on project ELY 😆
I'm lucky I know one)
As I already said it's a psychological horror with thriller elements and unexpected twists.
My project is called Project Tempest it's a espionage thriller. My plan is to finish this book this November
I love your vids ann so much ❤
I'm new to writing and I've recently come across your channel and I'm OBBESESED!!
Here is the story I'm working on:
Project name: The Disliked Princess (I'll change it later cuz I don't really like the name)
Genre: fantasy and romance
Word count goal: 10-35k (It's my first time, so I'm not sure if I will be able to write a full length novel)
It's about a princess whom has a low class power compared to her family who have a royalty/high class power (obv). They hid her powers to the public. Then one day she ran away.
I'm still working on improving it because sometimes I like the story and sometimes I cringe at it 😭
I'm writing a cozy fall short story!
3days into nanowrimo 11000 words. Super excited about mycurrent project. Haunting at Peabody mansion. Kinda supernatural story
Not doing NaNoWriMo in November, but am currently working on Project Moldock, a romantic mystery lgbtqia novel, with a word count goal of around 75k. Started 2 days ago and have about 1700 words so far, most written last night. I am excited to get writing and let this idea flow! Love your videos by the way!
aw im so excited for your project! it sounds amazingg!
@@ananeu Thank you! It’s hard to find the time to write as a full time college student, but I’m trying my best!
I’m writing in Nanowrimo 2023!!
Project name: The Lost Crown (yes it already has a title :D)
Goal: 50,000 words since it’s nanowrimo 2023
I’m on schedule with my word count EXACTLY.
Your videos have helped a lot with my prep by the way!
im writing for nanowrimo!! its more for my personal gain im not aiming for big things.
name: listen to me
im not really sure the genre it fits quite a few.
basically the book is centred around a woman who suffers from loneliness and insomnia.
Project Name: Project B.L
Genre: Drama and Romance
Word Count Goal: 50k
Overall the book is about a country girl meeting a rich boy. Main theme is opposite attracts :)
I'm writing a new paranormal fantasy romance. So a traditional nano but I'm also writing another book in a series. 💙
This is my 4th novel I am working on and I've done NaNoWriMo for years. This will be Part 2 of my 4th novel I am adding words to. It's a science fiction edutainment novel.
I'm doing NaNoWriMo for the first time!!
I'm working on my project Iris.
Genre: Fantasy
Word goal: 50,000 words
I don't think I'll make it to my goal but I'm just doing this for fun, and I need to start writing more. I have never written anything like the novel I'm doing now but I love everything about it and want my characters to come to life.
Hope you enjoy NaNoWriMo ana!!! ❤
My project is called "Running out of time" it's a LGBTQ adventure romance novel
I'm writing If I Had Won, my word goal is 20k. Can't wait to start
Im participating in NaNo as well, (first year!) and my project is called Project When East Meets West, which is a Fantasy about 5 teens/young adults from different courts have to help nourish, develop and use a power source that could help them win a very long war.
Love your video Ana! 🤛👌🤷🏼♀️
my nanowrimo project is my debut novel, ive titles it jacov thorne and the shattered monocle, and its fanatsy with a word count of 75000 words
thank you for this video, it gave me so much motivation to write! my book is titled 'mirage' and it is a fantasy book set in an arabic desert with a whole cool magic system
Literally, too dysfunctional to do NaNoWrimo but here is the project I’m working on rn
Project: Unit/Godkiller
Genre: fantasy
Plot: in a world where there are Units/Crowns.
I think nano is acctually gonna be better for my own mental health and my project's lol
My project is about this girl who 'accidentaly' unalives someone and is then send to a boarding school for troubled childeren only to discover she has magical powers and so does everyone in the school :) hope i get it done
my nano project doesn't really have a name. well, it -was- project Naming but I've squashed a few things together since then lol. I'm also cheating by writing worldbuilding/outline instead of the actual first draft BUT I'm having fun and progressing so I think it's fine.
its 3rd for us lol. tysm for the video!!
My project is called Fate’s Chess. My goal is about 50-60k words for my draft (which I’m working on right now) it’s low fantasy and it’s about magical girls and boys
Working on “you belong to me” book 2 my only goal is to complete 17 chapters no word count and this is my first year with nanowrimo
My project is under alias {azure}, and is about secrets of a haunted circus on an island far off the coast of England featuring a sapphic romance. Word count is around 80k. This is my first time doing NaNoWri Mo so I have high hopes. eeeeeeeeep
Ig the genre is gothic fix with fantasy sprinkled for taste.
Hi! For anyone interested here’s my NaNo project!
Name:Project Empire
Word count goal:50k
Genre:Fantasy
2 Queens start a war which soon spreads through all 4 kingdoms of the empire.
Project name: Crossed Lines
Genre: historical fiction
Plot: the oldest daughter of a wealthy aristocrat in the immediate years before and during the Civil War runs away from home to join the Union Army as a nurse
I’m working so hard to just write and not get bogged down in the details!
My book is in the fantasy adventure genre I think
I plan on writing it but I can't... I dunno why
But Bc im a really visual person and maybe because
I really struggel to write my prologue Bc it reveals the villain and her desire on the first half she is representation as the good grandmother and the other half is her evil side
Has anyone tips on how to write this sort of prologue? I really apoticate every tips you can give me :0
I'm also working on NaNoWriMo,
My project is called: Golden Betrayal
Genre: Fantasy
It's where a girl who shouldn't exist because of a rule gets discovered and has to start a rebellion
This is so random but where is that white turtleneck from? I love your vids so much
Let the games begin ☕️ yes, i am just starting NaNo don’t judge me 😭
Hey I have a question do you still have your loom band creations?
I’m writing a NaNoWriMo! It’s my first time so I’m excited.
Project name: Project I-Doll
Genre: Literary Fiction
Description: K-pop rookie girl group S.T.A.R has just had their big break with their album going viral in the States.
Interesting concept. Is it in first or third person?
@@huntercoleman460 it's in 1st person
@@YTYourLocalBookNerd I like to write in first person. Question what do you think of this poem I wrote called The Man and the Girl?
The man gives me roses to love.
The man gives me gifts to have.
The man gives me money to spend.
Then he met the girl and left me.
The man gives her roses to love.
The man gives her gifts to have.
The man gives her money to spend.
Then the man and the girl got married and not me.
@@huntercoleman460 it's a great poem!
@@YTYourLocalBookNerd thank you. Feel sorry for the woman?
