How are the firefighters and rescuers supposed to approach the car with 1,8m white flames spewing out from under the chassis, to free them?
Firefighters will have to work in pairs. One guy hold the joystick controler and the other guy that is suspended to a big drone do the rescue ! This will surely enable you to be chosen for the employe of the week contest. Good luck.

Too true, have you seen the ferocity of the fires from these things? It's frightening. In Germany it's already illegal to park an EV in an underground car park. Fire fighters just can't put those fires out with traditional means. The gov's gone insane and has thrown well known safety issues out the window.

There are plenty of videos online, mainly from China, but they're all terrifying. Most fire departments don't know that lithium and water don't mix, they ignite. This can lead to day- long fires and ten thousand gallon attempts to extinguish. In other words, your EV fire could preoccupy two or three fire engines while someone else's child dies in a home fire. I prefer an ICE over an EV any day, preferably an older model ICE with a simple engine because I can fix most problems myself without a mechanic simply because my Dad taught me as a 5-13 year old how to fix cars simply by watching him repair engines and handing him tools. At 16 he towed a car into the yard handed me the "Idiots Guide To Fixing Your Car". I already knew most things so when he said if you can tell me what's wrong with I'll help you fix it I agreed with him. It took me 2 days to figure out it had a cracked block, just by tinkering with it like my Dad did. I told him what I thought was Wrong with it and he said yup then led me over to my grand parents shed where a brand new out of the box engine and transmission was stored. With those two things was essentially getting a brand new car in an old tank style body. I was so proud of getting a new car out of the deal. Yup the outside might have been a 1960 body but the heart of the car was brand new and that's what counts! It was already tagged and insured so the day the new parts went in we drove it all over the island where I live in Florida. I was so proud of myself. Yup I got teased until I told them about the new heart, then the jealousies started. Thats ok too.

Total nonsense. You might want to take the time to actually learn about EV technology instead of listening to all the political hype. The child labor is from one cobalt mine which most manufactures don't use. 31% of EVs use LFP batteries which contain no cobalt, no manganese, no aluminum, and no nickel and that number is increasing. I always new EVs were a lot of bull. The wife and I both drive gas powered cars, with 1.5 turbo charged engines , rated at 170 HP. We are very happy with our decision to stay with gas powered cars. Now that most EVs are getting old, people are paying a large amount of money to repair them. This is why experts tell us not to purchase used electric vehicles, you could be in for a large expense. As a side note, are little 1.5 engines gives us 400 miles on a full tank of gas, it really doesn't matter because there is always a gas station near by, and only takes a few minutes to gas up.
@@johnnewbold3225 Sounds goog, people are going back to gas or diesel. After 7 years, a replacement battery on a EV could cost up to 6.000, we spend less on fuel .

The device you used to make that comment has more cobalt than a battery of a modern electric car - just saying. Also, I'm contacting you on a similar device with cobalt in it.
I hope you do some research soon, and discover the fact that electric cars are now being manufactured with *cobalt free* batteries. Yet sadly, the oil industry will doubtless continue to mine cobalt, just as it has done for generations. They can't refine oil without cobalt, and need it to remove sulphur during the refining process. So, you'll be ditching your engine powered car now, will you? The oil industry are the largest users of mined minerals on the planet. But hey, don't let that get in the way of a good storyline......

Having witnessed a fatality where both occupants of a vehicle were incinerated, then suffering the years of nightmares and flashbacks afterwards, I would never encourage anyone to multiply that fatality risk by travelling in an electric vehicle, let alone owning one. There is nothing worse for everyone involved. The real percentages are very scary, despite being actively muted by the industry. there is also the greatly elevated risk of house fires caused by EV's being charged (or sitting) in an attached garage. The insurance industry is not going to wait around before reflecting that risk back into premiums as well.

I've been driving a hybrid for years and have found almost invariably it is a bigger arse ache to charge the thing than it is to put petrol in it. The option for electric is useful in some circumstances...but that's all it should be; an option, used occasionally when it is convenient to do so. It is not suitable however as a primary energy source for automotive applications.
Yes, it's such an "arse ache", I guess that would be "pain in the ass" where is live, to have to take that cord and plug it into the vehicle only to wake up in the morning to discover that your car is fully charged. OH MY GOD, how can you stand such an ARSE ACHE. LOL LOL LOL.
Hybrids are not good for the reasons you gave. They are the most polluting type. They are mostly used on petrol but then have to carry a lot of extra weight around of the electric side. They tend to be terrible as electrics because the batteries are not big enough and they have to carry all the extra weight around of the petrol side.
@@CheeseLovingGuy 1. I don't care how "polluting" a vehicle is. It is not a consideration for me. 2. if they thought it through they wouldn't be doing any of this net zero garbage - carbo is not a pollutant and CO2 has absolutely nothing to do with climate change
Here in Phoenix, the EV people go do their grocery shopping in the summer. They plug in, turn up the AC, lock the doors, and go buy groceries. Super green leaving you EV on the grid while shopping.
Even if you turn them off then they lose around 0.5% charge per day. Imagine filling your tank with gas and coming back a month later to find that 50% of the fuel was gone This equates to around 2 tanks of fuel lost every year even if you do zero miles. The efficiency of EV's is about the same as 150 year old steam engines and most are also powered by coal. Not exactly zero emission.
People are lazy by nature. If there is an easier way to do something or if they can cut a corner, they will. Making a difference takes effort. Most are happy for someone else to make the sacrifice, but not them!
Strange, I didn't hear you about peoples doing the same idle with an ICE car, summer or winter. And I bet peoples who also charge during grocery also get some lileage in the battery. Of all the peoples I know that have an EV, noone plug his car just to get it cold or warm inside. Seems like you don't know what you're talking about.
Not sure about summer, but to "condition" the battery in winter can take 7 kwatts, before charging starts. Not sure what make that was, I'm assuming that they all would need some pre-warming. That might add to the cost of ownership if you charge outside in winter at home.
The insurance companies will write EVs off for very little damage because they won’t to be held accountable for any problems that occur after repair which could cost them millions if anyone gets injured or killed as it’s their responsibility to see the vehicle is fit to be used after a repair is carried out, then there’s the problems of training repair staff doing a proper job as all this is new to them and will take some years whilst they get trained up to work on these vehicles, all these problems should have been put in place before the vehicles were put on sale.
One of the scariest things about the Electric Vehicles is the fact that our enemies can destroy or somehow disable our powerplants and paralyze our countries.
@@CheeseLovingGuy
1. I don't care how "polluting" a vehicle is. It is not a consideration for me.
2. The specific vehicle I have, the one I wanted based on consideration of a multitude of other factors, is almost exclusively sold in Hybrid form. If there was a straight petrol variant I'd happily have took that, but the fact is even with the superfluous junk ( which does if only occasionally come in handy ) this is still by far the most suitable vehicle for my needs, with an MPG competitive with most nearest equivalents.
I'm wouldn't recommend plug in hybrids, I have a Prius Alpha which has a one kilowatt-hour battery the Prius plug in hybrid has an eight kilowatt hour battery. That battery is going to be heavier and bigger and more expensive when it comes to being replaced. The Prius plug in hybrid costs 50 grand NZD where as the standard one costs 40 grand. It's not worth the extra money.

They didn't think this through, did they.
When the ruling class, army, navy, air force go full electric, that will be the right time for EVs.
You don't make EV's pay road taxes to make drivers feel that they are saving money. Later you install GPS trackers to "charge by the mile" and to track your every movement. Win-Win for the government.
if they thought it through they wouldn't be doing any of this net zero garbage - carbo is not a pollutant and CO2 has absolutely nothing to do with climate change
The people backing the EVs did not consider the real consequences of this, which are in addition to all the problems you pointed out. Thank you for sharing this and best to you.

I am led to believe that this produces almost no significant emissions and a lot less than a petrol vehicle. If this is the case going EV or petrol Hybrid makes no sense.

There is no such thing as fossil fuel. It's oil, nothing to do with residue from living creatures. It's produced all the time, we will NEVER run out. Too many lies have been told. The other part of the equation is that nearly everything is made from oil (plastic). Life as we know it if we stopped procuring oil and refining it for thinks like aviation gas, car gas, plastic, roads, tires, clothing, packaging, transportation, food production, etc. Life as we know it would come to an end.
