His plan in the comics was using post-hypnotic suggestion to cause Green Lantern, the one on the league at the time being Kyle Rayner, to blind himself with his own ring.
Funnily enough in the Liberty Files (a DC elseworld where Batman and Superman are super spies in WW2 and the Cold War) the contingency plan is just nuking Superman. That or injecting someone with nuclear super serum to fight Superman and hopefully stop him before the patient's heart explodes.
I always felt the idea of, "We'll shoot Superman with a kryptonite bullet to stop him." And one of his things he is known for is being faster than a speeding bullet. Like, you fire the gun and then he just uses his superspeed to move out of the way and you miss. That isn't really a great plan to have.

Worst part is, considering all Will-E-Coyottee plans failed, it's highly likely that Batman only watched the episodes until the plan started, got up, to note it and never even finished any episode
he said the simulations warned him of the painted tunnel becoming real only for flash, so this means he saw at least one sketch the whole way through and still thought it was a good idea.
I mean, he knew about the tunnel gag. I think he knows the traps all fail, but thinks it's just cartoon logic and that they would work in real life, omitting the fact that these plans are conceived by the very same cartoon logic...

The funniest part to me is that Batman’s actual contingency plan for dealing with the Flash is basically “make the floor have no traction so he just goes sliding off super fast”, which isn’t that far off from an actual Looney Tunes plan.
@Mickey Mouse Okay, but he'd still need to be able to tell that the tunnel is fake. If Batman actually went through with that, he more than likely would have studied up on artistic realism, if he didn't already know it, in order to make a convincing optical illusion. Would Flash have anyway to tell that the tunnel is fake BEFORE colliding with the mountain side?
I like how even after getting a voice actress for others skits, the joke is still that this version of Wonder Woman doesn't have a voice. Only the evil version does.

Theory: None of these plans were the real plans. He was just making them up on the spot. If one of them turned evil or was mind-controlled, it would be devastating for them to know Batman's _actual_ plan.

He even demonstrated he could do this in an episode of Challenge of the Super Friends, in the timeline where the Legion of Doom traveled back in time and prevented Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman from becoming superheroes leaving Flash and Green Lantern as the team's heavy hitters.
Batman truly is a genius, he knows that because of his speed Flash would be able to counter his plan thus it must remain a secret so he made up stupid shit on the fly to make them think that there is no plan against Flash.

The worst part is that if Barry was actually mind controlled, he wouldn't care about the well being of his wife. Paradoxically, setting up a bunch of food as bait( like it's a road runner trap) would make more sense since Flash's metabolism would force him to look for food all the time.
To be fair, Flash, for someone who supposed to have godlike reaction time on pair with his speed, is getting surprised by traps too often 😅 This anvil plan could work out!
I have a theory about the traps Barry falls into. To interact with normal-speed people, he has to shut off his super-speed processing, so the trick is just to keep him at normal speed; even an engaging conversation will keep him in normal speed mode. Maybe he'll notice a threat in time to turn on the super-speed, but then again, maybe he won't.

My headcanon for this video is that Batman wanted to defuse the situation of him having contingency plans and not being trusted by the others by coming up with bad fake contingency plans on the spot. And it worked.
That checks out. He started with Superman and gave the obvious kryptonite answer with something massively destructive (a nuke). Aquaman is strong in some comic universes, but the Superfriends version is a joke and he could use many different methods. With the Flash, he didn't have a single obvious option and also did not have a ridiculous plethora of options. Thus, he switched to something nonsensical to avoid having to say his real plan. Honestly, most of his teammates would have had the same type of result due to them being the same inbetween of not having a single obvious answer while not being so lame that nearly any answer would work.

His plan for Superman and Aquaman depends on catching them off guard (bullet, poison fear gas). The fact that he tells them those plans doesn't nullify his ability to execute said plans. However, if he reveals what the Flash contingency plan is, he will never be able to catch Barry off guard because he's too fast. So instead, he "reveals" multiple Wile-E-Coyote plans and the Justice League suddenly thinks Bats is bonkers. Throw in the "hey this is all I have" and they start to feel sorry for him and the whole subject gets dropped. 4D chess. This is literally the most Batman thing ever.

Fun fact: In the JLA/Looney Tunes crossover comics, Roadrunner could access the speed force and became impossible for even Lobo to harm it with more conventional traps and weapons. I think this indicates Batman programmed his simulations under the assumption Barry is less intelligent than a bird
Speed Buggy could also access the speed force and there's a Reverse Speed Buggy and Speed Demon Buggy (a reference to a pre-Flashpoint villain Wally faced). ...Wait is there a Reverse Road Runner?
Honestly, the plan was to distract the league from mentioning his plan for Green Lantern. Mostly because the answer was 'wear a yellow batsuit', and he didn't want to hurt Hal's feelings.
Only if you can somehow tailor the gas to give them very specific hallucinations. Otherwise, imagine a Superman losing his mind and attacking everything that moves. You'd have made a bad situation infinitely worse.
It would be either the best or worst against Green Lantern, since the Yellow Lanterns powered by fear are his nemeses. He'd either know exactly how to handle it or it would de-power him entirely.

The real plan is a large plate of tacos surrounded by slippery ground and tripping hazards Barry's metabolism requires him to eat a ton of calories on the regular to survive, so he'll go for the food out of biological necessity rather than mere emotional that mind control may reduce the effectiveness of, ensuring that he'll take the bait and risk falling over on the way to the tacos But that's a REAL last resort, because if Barry doesn't fall for it soon enough, Batman has to deal with an OSHA violation

In the comics, one of Batman’s plans was to inject a device into Flash’s nervous system that would give him moderate seizures over and over again. Not enough to eventually kill him, but to keep him incapacitated for however long Batman needed him down.

Taking him down wouldn't be as simple as just beating one guy, cause Atlantis would want to avenge their king. A rogue Superman may be the biggest threat as an individual, but a rogue Aquaman is a bigger threat to world harmony and peace between nations because it could mean full on World War like in Flashpoint
Kinda shows how unnecessary Batman ultimately is to the JL don't it? Sure he pays for everything but Aquaman and Green Arrow are also filthy rich and could fund the Justice League if they wanted. Plus considering Wonder Woman is a literal princess she's probably loaded too.

To be fair they were all originally designed to be non-lethal. Even the Kryptonite for the contingency plan was synthetic. In the comic (Tower of Babel), Ra’s al Ghul altered them to kill. In the animated movie (JL Doom), Vandal Savage did the same.

Depending on which iteration of Green Lantern we're dealing with, his weakness is either wood or the color yellow. Either version can be dealt with using a No. 2 pencil.

in the show he says that they are fools to not have contingency plans for the justice league because they are among the most powerful people in the world and it most definitely makes sense
Yet he applies his most sadistic of plans to people who consider him a friend and treats the Joker with kid gloves. It doesn't really make sense, plus the plans tend to rely on the Justice League still being good. What would a kryptonite bullet do if evil Superman decides "Hey, why don't I just hang out in orbit and zap a few million people." Ultraman does that crap all the time to let Owlman and Superwoman know he knows about them plotting.

Yeah, usually a villain would have to mind control every single member individually. Now they only need to get the guy in charge of executing those contingency measures. Nothing in superhero shows holds up to scrutiny, so don't bother.

in the comics/movie the logic behind Barry's and Hal's contingencies always seemed stupid to me, because in both he used either people they cared about or threatened civilians... but the point of the contingency plans are IN CASE THEY TURN EVIL OR GOT MIND CONTROLLED.... why would they even stop to save somebody else?!

I never understood why some of Batman's contingency plans counted on the other heroes' emotional attachments. How will that be any of help if they turn evil or are mind controlled?
IIRC, in a situation where a hero is mind controlled the thought is that if he puts someone really close to the hero in a life or death situation, the hero will overpower and break or resist the mind control in order to save the person. Now why he has to kill them once the mind control is broken, I'm not sure, but I'd guess it would be to prevent the mind control from coming back online or to just completely neutralize the threat.
@@theunknownblock5942 I can't remember all of them off the top of my head, but from the ones I remember, they all simply act to subdue the target rather than kill, including Batman himself if he was to ever turn evil. For Wonder Woman's contingency plan, she would be forced to fight a simulation opponent of equal ground because she literally cannot refuse a fight if the opponent is strong enough. Since the opponent is a simulation, they cannot be beaten, forcing her to fight forever. Several other plans also involve Scarecrow's fear toxin, and I believe Flash's plan revolves around being injected with nanites.
The Tunnel idea is suprisingly decent. If Flash ran into a solid object at full speed at the very least he'd break enough bones to shock him for a while.
@@pyronaught6823 The point is to convince Flash that the tunnel was real, thereby negating the need for him to vibrate through or apply additional speed to break through. Though admittedly I'm not savvy on the lore, so I'm not sure if running into a cliff face would kill Flash or not.

Absolutely devastating but probably wouldn't kill you. Plus he heals at super speed as well, so he'd recover from it pretty soon

Meaning he can think as fast as he runs so the world is constantly in slow motion to him and he puts in effort to slow himself down so that he can be at the same time as everybody has (the man has godlike patience). The point is even if he fell for the tunnel the moment he got close to it he would notice it was paint or at least his hand would be the one to touch it first and he would just stop or climb over it not to mention phasing by vibrating.

Speed healing. A few minutes is all Batman would have while the rest of Barry's body is still fast. An actual contingency plan for Barry is just captain Cold. He doesnt have a proper floor to run on and the cold slows him down. Another could be scare crow's fear toxin. Anaesthetics would likely not work due to Barry's high metabolism, but fear induced by scarecrow, if it lasts long enough, it can trick Barry into exhausting himself where he'll need food. (Maybe make him afraid of food, hes fucked then). How will Barry get the toxin? As a speedster he breathes much faster than anyone so he is bound to inhale the gas if you put it anywhere in his path. Just make sure it looks like Mist at most and not fairly obvious.
Atleast Flash would feel something before realizing "Oh its a wall I'll just phase through". He probably would only feel a milisecond of impact then phase through it.
With the speed he's going though, wouldn't any impact be fatal? He rubs his finger against it and his entire arm could be ripped in pieces, breaking all his bones and losing too much blood.
Considering flash can move at the speed of light, batman creating a rocket which goes that fast and also finding a way he would survive being tied to it is actually very impressive
Funny how Flash running into a wall is actually not far off from Batman’s actual contingency plan. Basically his plan was to inject him with nanites near the base of his neck or spine that will make him disoriented or cause seizures if he runs at super speed causing him to crash into the nearest wall or hard surface at the speed of sound knocking him unconscious

what's even more funnier is that batman's original plan was to stick a bomb to the Flash that would explode the moment he stopped running as it had a vibration trigger of sorts..... and then flash uses the same technique to phase the bomb off of him while running thru an ice berg which contained the explosion.

Yep, that's the joke. What they don't mention is the part people forget, which is that he has contingency plans against the contingency plans in case a villain uses them against the heroes. So, he has a plan to heal Superman from the kryptonite bullet, and an antidote to the fear toxin. Also, there was a Flash villain where pretty much all of his plans to defeat Flash were Roadrunner sketches, and none of the villains took him seriously despite how his plans were often more effective against Flash than their grown-up plans were.

I always find it interesting that batman has contingency plans to take out the justice league if they get mind controlled. But by having those plans, doesnt he become a huge liability if he is mind-controlled? 🤔
The public enemies their enemies got a hold of the plans and used them but yeah Also it’s funny how Batman doesn’t really have a plan for himself because he knows he’s just a guy; even if he was being controlled he would have to set it all up at once or strategically eliminate them strongest to weakest without the second-strongest taking him out.

Just so you know, batmans actual plan was to attach a bomb to the flash that would explode and kill him if he ran to slowly, thus keeping him in a constant state of running near the limit of his speed. I love how Batman just could not come up with anything against Flash, so he clear his blueprint and started this theories upon the fact that Flash is Roadrunner.
Because Flash has no conventional weaknesses and can theoretically see anything Batman could throw at him hours ahead. The only thing that could take him out Is either something that turns his increased and fast metabolism against him or disorients him In a way that he can't run anymore.

Its worth mentioning that Batman has primarily non-lethal versions of these countermeasures that come into play LONG before anything resembling “Kryptonite Bullets” get broken out.
I was expecting a Flash villain that did the rope+anvil thing, because that actually does sound like a plan his rogue gallery would use (and it would work.)
Especially on the CW seeing as how stupid his flash is, just tie an anvil to the door frame of the entrance, when he stops to talk, bang, then they’ll walk off screen and they’ll “get away” then it’ll cut to the next scene

And that there are no other characters who plan for these scenarios like he does (ignoring Mister Fantastic, Doctor Doom, Lex Luthor, Black Panther, Mister Terrific, Hank Pym, Cyclops, Professor X, and various others; only difference is that their paranoia isn't glorified and the fans actually see it as a character flaw, but they worship Batman for it even when the stories themselves paint it in a negative light). It really sucks the fun out of being a comic book/superhero fan.
@Will N - I was actually leaning towards "Batman" again, but there are people who are weirdly obsessed with powerscaling and "who can beat who" debates (which I think Batman falls under, since his whole prep-time thing and absurd degree of mastery in virtually every discipline is essentially his own superpower). But as someone whose favorite character is the Man of Tomorrow, most sincere Superman fans love him for who he is, rather than what he can do, and understand that that's what makes him Superman to begin with. We also acknowledge that he's not even among the top ten most powerful beings in the DC Universe and regularly punches up to threats that far surpass him, who he has to outsmart instead of outpunch. Some of his best stories are the ones where he fails at first and has to pick himself back up and succeed with the help of his friends and allies, since it's the people who inspire Superman and give him hope (I also hold this view in regards to Batman and accepting the help of his allies and family, since the family is my favorite part about him). That's why I don't care for it when people unironically engage in "Superman vs. Goku" or "Superman vs. Homelander" (and so on; the worst versions of these involve Saitama, since his whole story is making fun of this sort of thing, so people who unironically care about his power level have missed the joke) debates. That's not really what the character is about and being powerful isn't what makes him a good character. And that's a misconception that leads to a lot of people disliking Superman, too. They think he's infallible and unstoppable. Overpowered. But he's plenty fallible and it's his humanity that makes him compelling. And he's nowhere near God-tier, so I'd be just as annoyed as the next guy if someone insisted he could outclass the Presence. I don't think he can even really overpower Darkseid's true, omniversal form (not his physical avatars that he usually fights) without a massive power-up.
I love the idea of Superman mispronouncing Wile E Coyote his whole life and that's how he finally gets caught, revealing he is Clark Kent when for some reason the world notices.
Always found it weird that Batman's justification for this was mind control, then proceeds to use plans that would only work if someone wasn't under mind control. -take hostages for Batman -kidnap loved ones for Hal (Doom) and Barry (here) -also fears probably wouldn't stop Grodd or someone from commanding someone to go do the thing lol
Bruce is a strong-minded individual and knows that his teammates are as well. He also knows that a strong mind isn't always indomitable; in such cases, usually all a strong mind needs to break free of external control is a little push.
It really depends on how deep the mind control goes. If it's a complete mind wipe / replacement, then yeah, fears and hostages wouldn't work, but if whoever's enacting the mind control is only altering the specific feelings or memories they think they need for their plans to work (e.g. convincing them that Batman / the other members of the Justice League are their enemy), enough aspects of their personalities could be intact enough for these contingency plans to work.
eh true, but at the same time.. that's not exactly "taking down" a leaguer. That's breaking mind control. So in a situation where he relies on a hero still being good enough for these plans to work can still blow up in his face. Example: the accidental nabbing of the Kents got Green Arrow killed
Yeah seriously, like batman's contingency for himself is something like "use his unquestionable desire for justice against him" which doesn't make much sense seeing as how the base idea around these are A. they are mind controlled, so emotional/philosophical stuff wouldn't work or B. they just went full on evil, so using justice wouldn't make much sense seeing as how if they are evil they probably wouldn't care. frankly these contingences often end up being less last resort for the people if the justice league went rouge/evil and we have no ways of stopping them and more "hey supervillains want to know a way to beat the justice league, well here you are"

The Kryptonite bullet in the comics was specifically made of an artificial Red Kryptonite (distinct from the natural Red Kryptonite) that would cause Superman's skin to become translucent, causing him to absorb sunlight at too quick a rate to the point where he felt intense pain from the sheer amount of power flowing into him. The Fear Toxin was of course meant to make Aquaman fear water, which he couldn't be away from for more than an hour without weakening and eventually dying. The Flash was to be shot in the back of the neck with a special bullet that would cause him to have lightspeed seizures. The plan for Martian Manhunter was to coat him in nanites that would turn the outer-most layer of his skin into magnesium; which catches fire, MM's weakness, when in contact with oxygen. Plastic Man was simply to be frozen with liquid nitrogen and shattered, messing up his physiology all together. Green Lantern and Wonder Woman were the only ones who Batman prepared contingencies that messed with them mentally, and neither scenario involved hostages. Green Lantern was to bee blinded by his own ring via post-hypnotic suggestion; and Wonder Woman was to trapped in a VR, via a nanite injected into her ear, where she's convinced she's fighting an equally matched opponent, thus she wouldn't back down and would eventually exhaust herself to a dangerous degree.

This was actually nearly the entire plot of Justice League: Doom. Vandal savage finds Batmans cashe of contingency plans against the league and attempts to use them to murder or encompasitate most of the league. After getting out of it the League kicks Batman out and has a falling out with them that lasts over a year. One of the main reasons was not just that he had plans to kill them but that he was going to do it in the most terrifying and torturous way possible. Pretty much implying that the main reason for doing it that way was to keep up his reputation of fear. And while none of the league directly confront him on this their attitude was pretty much "Jesus, Bruce you were gonna kill us in the worst way possible just to make your own rogues gallery and every other thug in Gotham piss themselves??"

I always felt the idea of, "We'll shoot Superman with a kryptonite bullet to stop him." And one of his things he is known for is being faster than a speeding bullet. Like, you fire the gun and then he just uses his superspeed to move out of the way and you miss.

I have a theory about the traps Barry falls into. To interact with normal-speed people, he has to shut off his super-speed processing, so the trick is just to keep him at normal speed; even an engaging conversation will keep him in normal speed mode. Maybe he'll notice a threat in time to turn on the super-speed, but then again, maybe he won't.

That checks out. He started with Superman and gave the obvious kryptonite answer with something massively destructive (a nuke). Aquaman is strong in some comic universes, but the Superfriends version is a joke and he could use many different methods. With the Flash, he didn't have a single obvious option and also did not have a ridiculous plethora of options. Thus, he switched to something nonsensical to avoid having to say his real plan. Honestly, most of his teammates would have had the same type of result due to them being the same inbetween of not having a single obvious answer while not being so lame that nearly any answer would work.

His plan for Superman and Aquaman depends on catching them off guard (bullet, poison fear gas). The fact that he tells them those plans doesn't nullify his ability to execute said plans.
However, if he reveals what the Flash contingency plan is, he will never be able to catch Barry off guard because he's too fast. So instead, he "reveals" multiple Wile-E-Coyote plans and the Justice League suddenly thinks Bats is bonkers. The real plan is a large plate of tacos surrounded by slippery ground and tripping hazards
Barry's metabolism requires him to eat a ton of calories on the regular to survive, so he'll go for the food out of biological necessity rather than mere emotional that mind control may reduce the effectiveness of, ensuring that he'll take the bait and risk falling over on the way to the tacos
But that's a REAL last resort, because if Barry doesn't fall for it soon enough, Batman has to deal with an OSHA violation

In the comics, one of Batman’s plans was to inject a device into Flash’s nervous system that would give him moderate seizures over and over again. Not enough to eventually kill him, but to keep him incapacitated for however long Batman needed him down.

Depending on which iteration of Green Lantern we're dealing with, his weakness is either wood or the color yellow.

I never understood why some of Batman's contingency plans counted on the other heroes' emotional attachments. How will that be any of help if they turn evil or are mind controlled?
IIRC, in a situation where a hero is mind controlled the thought is that if he puts someone really close to the hero in a life or death situation, the hero will overpower and break or resist the mind control in order to save the person. Now why he has to kill them once the mind control is broken, I'm not sure, but I'd guess it would be to prevent the mind control from coming back online or to just completely neutralize the threat.

For Wonder Woman's contingency plan, she would be forced to fight a simulation opponent of equal ground because she literally cannot refuse a fight if the opponent is strong enough. Since the opponent is a simulation, they cannot be beaten, forcing her to fight forever.
Several other plans also involve Scarecrow's fear toxin, and I believe Flash's plan revolves around being injected with nanites.
Their loved ones being in Danger gives them a second chance on their Saving throw. And love grants a +2 circumstance bonus.
The Tunnel idea is suprisingly decent. If Flash ran into a solid object at full speed at the very least he'd break enough bones to shock him for a while.

Flash does have a speed healing ability
Speed healing. A few minutes is all Batman would have while the rest of Barry's body is still fast. An actual contingency plan for Barry is just captain Cold. He doesnt have a proper floor to run on and the cold slows him down.
Another could be scare crow's fear toxin. Anaesthetics would likely not work due to Barry's high metabolism, but fear induced by scarecrow, if it lasts long enough, it can trick Barry into exhausting himself where he'll need food. (Maybe make him afraid of food, hes fucked then). How will Barry get the toxin? As a speedster he breathes much faster than anyone so he is bound to inhale the gas if you put it anywhere in his path. Just make sure it looks like Mist at most and not fairly obvious.

Funny how Flash running into a wall is actually not far off from Batman’s actual contingency plan.
Basically his plan was to inject him with nanites near the base of his neck or spine that will make him disoriented or cause seizures if he runs at super speed causing him to crash into the nearest wall or hard surface at the speed of sound knocking him unconscious
But how would he inject him, when it would be pretty easy for the flash to kill him if he was truly evil or mind controlled

Yep, that's the joke.
What they don't mention is the part people forget, which is that he has contingency plans against the contingency plans in case a villain uses them against the heroes. So, he has a plan to heal Superman from the kryptonite bullet, and an antidote to the fear toxin.
Also, there was a Flash villain where pretty much all of his plans to defeat Flash were Roadrunner sketches, and none of the villains took him seriously despite how his plans were often more effective against Flash than their grown-up plans were.

I have seen people unironically state Batman could defeat the Presence (literally God) with enough prep-time. And that there are no other characters who plan for these scenarios like he does (ignoring Mister Fantastic, Doctor Doom, Lex Luthor, Black Panther, Mister Terrific, Hank Pym, Cyclops, Professor X, and various others; only difference is that their paranoia isn't glorified and the fans actually see it as a character flaw, but they worship Batman for it even when the stories themselves paint it in a negative light). It really sucks the fun out of being a comic book/superhero fan.

@Will N - I was actually leaning towards "Batman" again, but there are people who are weirdly obsessed with powerscaling and "who can beat who" debates (which I think Batman falls under, since his whole prep-time thing and absurd degree of mastery in virtually every discipline is essentially his own superpower).
But as someone whose favorite character is the Man of Tomorrow, most sincere Superman fans love him for who he is, rather than what he can do, and understand that that's what makes him Superman to begin with. We also acknowledge that he's not even among the top ten most powerful beings in the DC Universe and regularly punches up to threats that far surpass him, who he has to outsmart instead of outpunch. Some of his best stories are the ones where he fails at first and has to pick himself back up and succeed with the help of his friends and allies, since it's the people who inspire Superman and give him hope (I also hold this view in regards to Batman and accepting the help of his allies and family, since the family is my favorite part about him).
That's why I don't care for it when people unironically engage in "Superman vs. Goku" or "Superman vs. Homelander" (and so on; the worst versions of these involve Saitama, since his whole story is making fun of this sort of thing, so people who unironically care about his power level have missed the joke) debates. That's not really what the character is about and being powerful isn't what makes him a good character. And that's a misconception that leads to a lot of people disliking Superman, too. They think he's infallible and unstoppable. Overpowered. But he's plenty fallible and it's his humanity that makes him compelling. And he's nowhere near God-tier, so I'd be just as annoyed as the next guy if someone insisted he could outclass the Presence. I don't think he can even really overpower Darkseid's true, omniversal form (not his physical avatars that he usually fights) without a massive power-up.
I love the idea of Superman mispronouncing Wile E Coyote his whole life and that's how he finally gets caught, revealing he is Clark Kent when for some reason the world notices.
Always found it weird that Batman's justification for this was mind control, then proceeds to use plans that would only work if someone wasn't under mind control.

Bruce is a strong-minded individual and knows that his teammates are as well. He also knows that a strong mind isn't always indomitable; in such cases, usually all a strong mind needs to break free of external control is a little push.
It really depends on how deep the mind control goes. If it's a complete mind wipe / replacement, then yeah, fears and hostages wouldn't work, but if whoever's enacting the mind control is only altering the specific feelings or memories they think they need for their plans to work (e.g. convincing them that Batman / the other members of the Justice League are their enemy), enough aspects of their personalities could be intact enough for these contingency plans to work.
eh true, but at the same time.. that's not exactly "taking down" a leaguer. That's breaking mind control. So in a situation where he relies on a hero still being good enough for these plans to work can still blow up in his face.

Yeah seriously, like batman's contingency for himself is something like "use his unquestionable desire for justice against him" which doesn't make much sense seeing as how the base idea around these are A. they are mind controlled, so emotional/philosophical stuff wouldn't work or B. they just went full on evil, so using justice wouldn't make much sense seeing as how if they are evil they probably wouldn't care. frankly these contingences often end up being less last resort for the people if the justice league went rouge/evil and we have no ways of stopping them and more "hey supervillains want to know a way to beat the justice league, well here you are"
@@tjknight Actually, the idea in the comics was mostly to turn the other Leaguers' metahuman physiology against them.
The Kryptonite bullet in the comics was specifically made of an artificial Red Kryptonite (distinct from the natural Red Kryptonite) that would cause Superman's skin to become translucent, causing him to absorb sunlight at too quick a rate to the point where he felt intense pain from the sheer amount of power flowing into him.
The Fear Toxin was of course meant to make Aquaman fear water, which he couldn't be away from for more than an hour without weakening and eventually dying.
The Flash was to be shot in the back of the neck with a special bullet that would cause him to have lightspeed seizures.
The plan for Martian Manhunter was to coat him in nanites that would turn the outer-most layer of his skin into magnesium; which catches fire, MM's weakness, when in contact with oxygen.
Plastic Man was simply to be frozen with liquid nitrogen and shattered, messing up his physiology all together.
Green Lantern and Wonder Woman were the only ones who Batman prepared contingencies that messed with them mentally, and neither scenario involved hostages.
Green Lantern was to bee blinded by his own ring via post-hypnotic suggestion; and Wonder Woman was to trapped in a VR, via a nanite injected into her ear, where she's convinced she's fighting an equally matched opponent, thus she wouldn't back down and would eventually exhaust herself to a dangerous degree.

This was actually nearly the entire plot of Justice League: Doom. Vandal savage finds Batmans cashe of contingency plans against the league and attempts to use them to murder or encompasitate most of the league.
After getting out of it the League kicks Batman out and has a falling out with them that lasts over a year.
One of the main reasons was not just that he had plans to kill them but that he was going to do it in the most terrifying and torturous way possible. Pretty much implying that the main reason for doing it that way was to keep up his reputation of fear.
And while none of the league directly confront him on this their attitude was pretty much "Jesus, Bruce you were gonna kill us in the worst way possible just to make your own rogues gallery and every other thug in Gotham piss themselves??"
Aquaman talking via gurgle is one of the best voiceover choices possible, right along with Wonder Woman talking in [no voice actress].

It's almost exactly possible: one of Barry's powers is to vibrate his molecules so that he can pass through solid objects. So Barry wouldn't enter the painted tunnel exactly, but he would nevertheless travel through the cliff and emerge on the other side.

@@KingNedya Except that the change happened between reboots as well. Parrallax being imprisoned in the Central Green Lantern Battery was what caused the weakness to yellow - when he broke out and was defeated, the weakness went away.
