That opening arpeggios were beautiful with the reverb. As you said its acoustic property makes it suited for alternative rock as well as blues.. The original ones with the mini humbuckers sound very nice, bright and chime too..
Epiphone is killing it recently especially iv been following their acoustic range lately ... Stunning new well priced instruments. Nice that Gibson is letting them run free and do what they do!
Ok that needs to be a transcription! That was a gorgeous arrangement of what some complain(not me, being a huge NG/Oasis fan) overplayed/overrated song.
You need to interview yourself for your own rig rundown. You showed that pedalboard for about a second and a half. I've always wondered what your tastes are when you're not showcasing something and I think you might have given us a clue here. I've never heard you straight up play the band you're eluding to like you did here. And that was really a beautiful rendition of Wonderwall at the beginning. But I am curious what those effects you were running are. Anyway great job as always.
I bought this guitar because I love the 335 style and this has a gorgeous neck profile. Much better suited to me. Signature model aside this is a fantastic Epi. Huge quality.
Japanese guitars in the 90s cost less than Chinese guitars do now. I have a Japanese Fender that cost me £250 new in 1997. I remember these Rivieras in the shop and they were still above my budget.
I've got the Epi Sheraton II Pro and the ES-335. Love them both, but if I could merge them into one guitar it would probably end up very much like the NG Riviera. I might gotta buy me one.
@@jordanebacher Funny enough, I ended up getting a olive drab green Epi 335 with humbuckers from reverb. Got it discounted for $490. I love it. I believe it’s the same pickups as the Noel Gallagher which if it is, I don’t think you’d be disappointed. I wanted a guitar that I could play through a lot of distortion so not going for the mini humbuckers was a good choice. I will admit, I do miss the chimeyness, so if you prefer that then go for the regular riviera !
Pots will help get "the PAF" sound. I've heard some PAF style pickups sound better with 350k pots than with the "traditional" 500k. Mix and match to your own taste.
Hello, would you recommend this specific model or the Epi 335? It would be just to play at home... nothing or almost no distortion, thank you very much!!
Lovely guitar, terrific playing BUT I can't understand why they call it a Riviera? Where's the Frequensator Tailpiece? Where are the MiniBuckers? Why not just come clean and call it a 335? That said, will give it a shot at my local Gibson / Epi flagship but will also check out the couple of ACTUAL rivieras they have listed . . . mini-buckers have their own thing and I'm keen to compare the two.
"$899 for a guitar that You can take out it the case and gig" that is the best attribute? Really? Epiphone Mudbuckers? Really? I bet You take a $300 guitar through the same signal chain and would sound as good

wtf John, that intro was beautiful
it's almost like he plays guitar for a living 😅

@@soofitnsexy Thank you :)

I think they’ve been “killing it” for sometime actually . I have a 2013 es 335, ej200 from 2012 and many more … quality and playability is great !
John's playing can make you interested in any guitar! This is one of his best demos yet. Epiphone guitars seem to only be getting better.
Epic intro playing!
only someone with john bohlinger's chops can make wonderwall that refreshing.
Such a great player and awesome interviewer
Intro was beautiful.. and a great guitar, I I I love epiphone guitars. Thanks for covering this guitar.
John great playing showcasing Epiphone and love for Grandma of Rock Rosetta Tharpe!
That wonder wall intro was incredible man
Always love watching you play the intro's to your videos John.
Always beautiful playing John 😊
Does the guitar come with a Brother that will smash it for you, or is that extra? curious .
If not, I'm sure you could get someone to do it for you.

awesome playing from john!!
Tasty! Thanks for that - been wondering about this one - nice.
Look forward to trying one. The pickups were my main concern.
Fantastic version…nice work, Jon!
“All that social media crap“ Nice work John 😂
Damn thats awesome😊 ill be getting one for sure, to have that with my gibson es-335 will be perfect. Sounds amazing and looks just gorgeous
Oh….I really miss Oasis ❤

How is the neck? Thinner than normal?
@@SnappingTurtle90 it’s a 60s slim - much less bulky than a Dot. More like the Gibson Trini Lopez necks.
That’s why I bought mine.
I'm thinking about buying this to over the Epiphone ES335. Since you have one, would you say they sound very similar or only a little similar?
@@davidgood6744would you say it sounds very similar to an Epiphone
ES335 or just a little similar
Hi John, i’ve ordered a second one because the first had a damaged body and bad paintjob. The sound is fantastic..
That intro man! 🖤🤘🏻
I only ever watched the Rig rundown videos and I had no idea John was such a talented guitar player 👏
I always love Joe reviews. Tons of sensitivity. One question the pedal delay have a "frezze" option?
...is too long

With full sized pick ups it's more a SHERATON than a Riviera! (the Riv had MINI hum buckers! )
@HatemYNWA Oh ok!
Great demo! Hope you are doing well
Beat intro you've ever done (and that's saying a lot)
🔥🔥
I was hoping that intro was you trying to cover "D'You Know What I Mean" instead of the usual haha

I like the guitar however was surprised to see the Sister Rosetta Tharpe poster. You guys are instantly cool. Lol
I can’t decided if I should get this or the Epi riviera with mini humbuckers
I'm trying to decide between the two as well... Did you pick one yet and how do you like it?

Cool! I would buy one instantly if it was actually for sale anywhere😂
Just bought one today. It's everything I love in a guitar all in one guitar.
@@reubenisaac702 Hey, congrats! I ordered one the day before yesterday😄 Finally in stock👍
Nice but still waiting on the epi Trini Lopez model.
John… the only guy besides oasis themselves who can play wonderwall and not turn everyone off… lol
dident this already come out?
They had a Union Jack model, if I remember correctly.
The blue one, and the union jack came out a loooong time ago.
Should’ve started with “Anyways, here’s….”
But first here's wonderwall
Rig Rundown with Noel Gallagher High Flying Birds.
this has to be a coincidence, i was also just playing wonderwall finger style before watching this video

Wonderwall intro was pure, one hunnert percent cheddar good review tho
👍👍👍😁
Are Epiphone Artist Signature Guitars made in CHINA? Thanks!
China. Just bought one today.
cheap tuners cheap bridge etc etc etc no its not the same as a genuine 335 gibson its not what is being portrayed here nope!
"$899 for a guitar that You can take out it the case and gig" that is the best attribute? Really? Epiphone Mudbuckers? Really? I bet You take a $300 guitar through the same signal chain and would sound as good
oh yeah bud My master built would also be RIGHT THERE...THRU HIS RIG! AGREED!
Nothing worse, imo, than going to check out a great guitar like this, then feeling that shitty glossy, thin neck….FAT NECK=FAT TONE
I've got slim tapers with plenty of tone.......fat tone
Where is this guitar actually made Jon.?
China
