    I’ve always played a Gmaj 7 in the chorus and it still sounds right to me (love the fiddle-to-guitar transcription!).

    what I noticed when you used the metronome is that the original recording tempo "swings" and lays just behind the beat , which is only one of the many things that this song has to pull you in
