Great video, love seeing your opinions on here!
I enjoyed the heaven side more than the hell but really enjoyed the album overall. More than I expected too!
Dopamine was my favourite song, I have just lived through the experience he describes in the song so it really grabbed me.

My top 5 songs on each side:
    1) Waiting on a Twist of Fate
    2) I Can't Wait
    3) Future Primitive
    4) Bad Mistake
    5) Johnny Libertine
    1) Rise Up
    2) Stranger in These Times
    3) I Don't Need Anyone
    4) You Wanted War
    5) How The End Begins
Time Won't Wait, Dopamine and Landmines are my least favourite on the Heaven side as they are very formulaic and sound a bit too much like a MGK or Avril Lavigne song. But overall I enjoy this album and would probably give it a 7.5/10 as I enjoy about 75% of the album.

I think our top 5s for both sides would be fairly similar, except I would replace You Wanted War with It's All Me.

Even tho I liked every single song, I respect your decision. I don't agree, but as a fan, were all fans. Sometimes they hit for us and sometimes they don't. Im glad we all enjoyed the album tho 🙌🏽

@@christophersantos730 I appreciate you watching the video man! There are great tracks on here, I'm totally happy to get 20 final songs from Sum, just as full album I think it misses the mark a bit. And on a 2nd listen, some songs went up for me. I still feel like this is the weakest of the newer releases from them, but a 6.5 is still a decent score for a band 25 years into their career.

Wow. When I listened to 'Future Primitive' I said to myself this is Bad Religion X Pennywise. You guys said all the same things I was thinking. 😄

I really liked the Hell side and Over the Edge might be one of my favourites in the whole project. Maybe because I've listened to Bring Me the Horizon a lot over the last few years and it feels like that song borrows pretty heavily from their Post Human: Survival Horror project. But yeah... we didn't need another Paint it Black. -The Tilt Guy

Heaven side is pretty good, far better than the new blink and green day stuff. And I agree with you; the Hell side is kind of a let down

Yeah, I think 13 Voices and Order in Decline gave us better material than the Hell side of this record. Still, it had a few bangers and I do feel this was an attempt to show love to both sides of their fanbase, and I can appreciate that.

Surprised to hear Jm say Sum 41 is in his top 5 , did I hear that right? They have three great records if you count “half hour of power”The best being “Does this look infected” I remember Jm trying to sell me on “Chunk”, which I was very disappointed with but he got me to upgrade it to “ok” but everything after that is not for me. Have to give this one a listen after this pod

Top 5-10, possibly just said it in the heat of the moment though. I do think that from AKNF - Chuck is pretty flawless, even Underclass Hero has some gems (I think you'd dig this one); I think Sum 41 has a handful of tracks in my top 50 songs ever, so that's where my logic is at. Thanks as always for checking out the video man, would love to have you on one day to talk about the good old days haha

Dude. Every album is freakin great. And I love you can just call back to each album and differentiate them. Unlike many other bands who just stick to the same boring stuff, or sale out to pop or other dumb genres. Sum 41 started punk, then did a little of both on chuck and underclass hero. Screaming bloody murder(my favorite album) got darker and it had great drums, guitars, vocals, it felt new yet still same vibe sum 41 had been hinting at. Then 13 voices with return of dave and they went more metal side. Order in decline had great gems like catching fire, death in the family, never there, turning away. You can not like their new stuff. But you can't deny sum 41 is the ONLY band, maybe with offspring, that has stayed consistent and has done alot of different work and done it good. Maybe you just a punk pop kid, that's fine, but you should be able to see beyond that. At least they didn't sale like blink 182, fall out boy, and many other bands

@@PunkRockRadar sound logic. They have a few of some of my favorite songs ever.
That would be fun, man. Talk about the crazy shows. People forget THE CHANCE and just our county had a pretty strong Scene. I would also love to talk sub-genres. Any time man. Either way you guys do a great job, I just enjoy watching

Loved the album. Heaven side is my fav, i have not quite myself and bad mistake on repeat lol
I now really like hell side, but it was kinda a let down ngl. For me i was expecting 13 voices, order in decline, but i wanted to see some screaming bloody murder inspiration. I can see why they did hell side the way they did now and i can appreciate it alot more. I guess i just had high expectations for hell side. But still got bangers like rise up, stanger in these times, house of liars, how the end begins.
After listening to it the past days😂 fanboy me gives it a 10/10, but i guess overall and more critical thinking i can give it a 7.5/10. Still solid tho. My fav will always be screaming bloody murder 10000000000/10😂😂😂😂😂

Screaming Bloody Murder as your favorite record is pretty interesting. It was the first Sum 41 record I purchased as a teenager, I really liked it back then, not as much now but it has some great moments, and It's definitely a record that is dismissed to often. Thanks for checking out the review! - Elliot

After a second listen, On the Heaven side, I think I would raise my score for "Future Primitive", but I would lower my score for "Not Quite Myself", and slightly lower my score for "Landmines". I think the Heaven side is overall more fun, but still has some very generic songwriting, that I gave a slight pass on our initial listen.
On the Hell side, I would raise my score for "I Don't Need Anyone" and "How The End Begins". But lower my score for "You Wanted War". Overall, I think my original final score is fine, maybe even slightly generous, but still there are many great songs within the record.
