@Alan Harper We admire the achievements we make and want to make. And also not that much of a big deal? I'dd like to see you on the table with all the other engineers and see how much of a struggle it was to build this aircraft. Maybe you could have saved airbus a couple of billions since it isn't a "big deal". What you are saying is not technically wrong, you do make a fair point somehow. But lay low with the armchair expertise because you sound off like an ignorant jackass. We have to save this dying planet first before jumping further in the world AI, bio-physics and -mechanics.
I trust that the man standing directly in front of the jumbo jet about to signal to the pilot to begin the taxi had a great pair of headphones to help filter out that very loud sound! Magnificent catch, Marco!!
@SamuelwrightA350 I flew on the Dreamliner back in May for the 1st time while it was comfortable I have to say the engines were a bit noisy. I haven’t been on the A380 just yet but I’m hoping to see what flying on that plane is like vs the 787
@SamuelwrightA350 I’ll keep that in mind! The Dreamliner flying wise was super comfortable I was in economy so I can only imagine what business/first class were like, it was through American Airlines even though I was in economy class seats the flight attendants took really good care of us My favorite feature on the Dreamliner was the button to darken the windows that came in handy since I had the window seat
Since then, the price of a plastic bag dropped to below $10,000 in 1969, and by the early 70s were cheap enough for mass adoption by the general public :D
I heard one of these start up while I was in Thailand a few years ago. I was like “what tha fk is that?” then looked out the Airport window and saw an A380
pay attention about theexternal centrifugal thickness of the blade be cause could create a"bouchon " and an increase of pressure happend on both blades not specialy because the rear is running away i tell you that to turn fast and did schmit speak to you about my nuclear propelled plane?
No big deal, I worked on aircraft in the airforce. Small pieces of paper are of no concern, but a bird of any kind while in flight is something to worry about. A ping pong ball no big deal, yet a golf ball, oops, wear a chute.
This is not Trent. See the marking, it is engine alliance gp7200 series engine, the marking is a typical Pratt & Whitney design . Engine alliance is 50-50 partnership firm between GE and Pratt & Whitney exclusively for manufacturing engines for A380 to competite with rolls Roychan Trent engines
there are 3 types of A380-800’s the A380-861, A380-841 and A380-842 the 842 and 841 aircrafts use both Rolls Royce trent 900’s the 861 uses the Engine alliances (GE and PRATT AND WHITNEY). so in summary the second digit stands for the engine company of any airbus. for example 841, 4=rolls royce, 861 | 6=engine alliances. same with any other airbus. 0=GE 2=Pratt and Whitney. and there’s a bunch of other numbers that represents different engine companies. and it’s the same thing with the 321, 330, 340, 350 etc
Ryan Ryan but for A380, Engine alliance and rolls royce are the only engine suppliers . Rolls royce was the official engine partner for A380 program. The first A380 delivered to Singapore Airlines was powered by Trent. Engine alliance came second in to market as basically engine alliance was formed by GE& Pratt & Whitney to make engines for Boeing 747 ( Boeing had plans in 1998 to extend / modify 747 fleet) since it was not feasible, Boeing dropped the plan . Engine alliance made some modifications in the newly designed developed engine to suit A380 requirements ( basically a change in trust and power ratios) and transformed it as gp7200 series of engines
Scott Skinner powered by engine alliance gp7200 series engines ( engine alliance is a 50 50 partnership firm between GE and Pratt & Whitney exclusively to make A380 engines, to competite with rolls royce Trent 900 which was the official engine developed for A380 ) Trent is the leading in A380 engine sector
Probably not. The fan is much larger than the (more vulnerable) core section and tends to throw FOD to the outside. Unless it's something heavy enough to damage the fan blades - and a piece of plastic like this obviously isn't - it'll likely pass through harmlessly.
Phil W engine alliance, watch the white marking on the turbo fan, it is typical Pratt & Whitney design. This aircraft us powered by engine alliance gp7200 series. Engine alliance is ( GE & Pratt & Whitney). Wherein GE manufactures the fan casing, gear shift and electricals and Pratt & Whitney makes the hybypass turbo fan and pressure controls
I see this plane almost everyday and I admire it so much, especially the low noise it makes.
And now they are scrapping the Airbus 380-800, for the A350 :)
Can't believe humans built that monster. Great video.
TechMantra its so crazy
@Alan Harper Not spectacular? Ok ;) I will agree to disagree.
@Alan Harper I do understand, thanks for taking your time to explain it to me, I misunderstood you before :)

More than humans. Europeans. 🇪🇺

All hail the ramp dudes. ;).
The quietest smoothest plane I've ever been on.

@SamuelwrightA350 the upper deck of the A380 is actually quieter than both 787 and A350
How beautiful! All that power in the Rolls Royce going to work! How wonderful!
Trey Pohe this is not rolls royce engine Dear friend .this is engine alliance gp7200 series engines
Pramod Joseph Oh, okay! Never mind, its still awesome though!
Trey Pohe still difference, engine alliance makes less sound compared to Trent. Trent , the sound is awesome as all rolls royce engines are 3 spool
They are Engine Alliance GP7200 not Rolls Royce Trent 900
Nice video. I've flown on this plane 4 times, it's great. Much more spacious than 777s and although 4 engines, is quieter inside.
1 minute of silence for the plastic object that fight like a true warrior against this giant airplane engine
NICE aircraft heads off to you engineers amazing
Hi, do you know your video has been used on another youtube account, "flight paths reveal flat earth"?
1:30 very very smart, engine spins counter-clockwise. Saves a lot of time during trip
That's nothing smart all engines rotate counter-clockwise

I’ve flown Emirates Business Class from JFK to Dubai to Seychelles and Maldives. The most magnificent ✈️
Brilliant aircraft....just the best!!
So sick
Simply stunning, fantastic work Marco! HUGE LIKE!!
That sound you hear outside - sure sounds better on the inside..... I love to fly on one. Emirates always.....
Human ingenuity at its finest right here folks 👍😎
Thank God it was just a soft piece of plastic bag and not something hard. Originally they cost around $800,000 in 1968.
Since then, the price of a plastic bag dropped to below $10,000 in 1969, and by the early 70s were cheap enough for mass adoption by the general public :D

Saw this plane arriving a Zurich airport, what a huge bird
This airbus is like a beautiful fine white happy swan just ready to fly.

Wow amazing plane :) and airline Thanks for sharing +Like and suscribed
She is a beautiful airplane ✈️ ❤️
That's quite the wide angle lens you have on your camera. There is a bit of distortion towards the edges. You are very close to that aircraft
The best aircraft ever !
Wonder if it is the airline choosing the engines, since I know that both EA and RR make engines for Airbus :)
I flew on this, first class, most incredible experience in the world, #onepercent
Callan harvey the one percent of one percenters to have only done it once. Get with it homeboy
clifford hastings actually I've done it about 36 times this year (:
Callan harvey sure 😂😂

PERFECTO.....✨✨✨
I want to be on an A380 soooo bad!!!
Go for it; life is short! You have a decade or another global pandemic before they take them out of the skies again.
Impressive to say the least
I have entered this air plane twice
It's alive! IT'S ALIVE!!!

WOW a napkin went thru the engine. WOW.
By way of rolls Royce on Trent?
That’s what she said... “An object goes inside...”
Shows you how much air those monsters move At startups
FOD shouldn't be on a ramp area, period.
Great!!
A lovely plane but can never be as sexy as the 747...
Looks like some cling-wrap, probably from one of the workers sandwiches.
Compressed air?
The plan just waiting that object than it starts to taxing.
Love
I wanna see it in person 😭😭 Charleston Int'l airport isn't big enough 😥🤦🏾♂️
The engine FOD ingestion should have been reported. Even plastic bags can do serious damage to engines.
wow!!!
A moment of silence for the poor bag....
well, emirates saved airbus from bankruptcy !!!!!!!!
actually !!

muahahahahaha!!!!! sucking in of the paper or plastic. Too funny. From so far away too.
That was a piece of shipping wrap. Doesnt look like it, but that was larger than a soccer ball.
a DONKEY could go through those engines and have no effect let alone a tiny piece of feathery paper
"hee-haw" "hee-haw" LOL!
FOD. Nothing to worry about?

Airbus is barely able to sell anymore of these. The 747 and A380 are going away.

They may end production of the A380, but they will most certainly be still in service for under half a century
