    Great, balanced review! 👍 Very thorough and good to see you touch on everything new or improved. I like that you even made note that this is not a stunt truck (never has been). Cool to see Spektrum going to 25t splines in their servos - FINALLY (also noted that the graphics have changed, which should make it easier to differentiate them). That body is superb and should prove to be very durable. I even like the compromise of clips and hidden front mount, I think this will hold better (even though yours loosened up a few times). I love how people complain about the durability of bodies yet you give them what they want and they complain it's too heavy 🤦🏻‍♂️ I won't question Arrna's motive but the price MUST come down. This truck has tons of potential, can't wait to see future episodes!

The upside to this Big Rock model is that it's more compatible with plenty of the parts that are around right now. Am looking forward to seeing how built up you're gonna make it. Personally (if budget permitted) I'd go all-out with some Treal bulkheads (because huge input bearing) the chunkiest generic aftermarket (not hollow) suspension hinge pin blocks (so you can use stock pins) an M2C chassis, 5mm hex kit, carbon towers, and HOBBYWING's G2 Max 6 system with the 4990 (at least)

I had similar thoughts if I get the brcc I don’t think I’d want to get it dirty . It look cool with those GRP 5th scale wheels , light kit , little smoke 💨 some ground effects .

    I would say those wider outdrive cups are a must have on the front of these Arrma 6s truggies especially. I'm guessing they won't work in the V5 diffs as they use a smaller diameter shaft than the exb(( Going Full EXB would have made the price ridiculous on this but it's nice to see Arrma made the effort to correct multiple issues that the Fireteam has.

    Maybe this a question you can answer. What is the purpose of the capacitors attached to the esc to battery wires? And what effect will deleting these capacitors do to the performance of the rig?

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Год назад +3

      The capacitors are designed to smooth out The current coming from the battery based on the fact that the ESC requires wildly varying amounts of power on millisecond time scales. Removing the external capacitors could cause instability on that input under heavy loads which might damage the ESC.

    • @edwinlomonaco6754
      @edwinlomonaco6754 Год назад +1

      @DoRC So I was looking at getting a Hobbywing motor and esc combo. And I noticed no capacitors come with it. So now my question is should you add them? If so how do you know what kind you need? Looking at the Hobbywing max6 ezrun 8s 1650kv.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Год назад

      @@edwinlomonaco6754 If it doesn't come with them you probably don't need them. The ESCs have input capacitors built into them the external capacitors are just additional filtering. The only time you'd want to use additional filtering is if you're really pushing in order to its limit like speed running or something like that

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Год назад +1

      I suspect they will come out with a new version of every EXB vehicle. Unless they really think they're not going to make money on it I expect to see new versions of everything coming out.

      Take a look at people who have made Kraton XL trucks or who have put different bodies on the Mojave or fireteam. They all run on the same chassis length so the same body should work. You'll have to do some messing around with bumpers and whatnot though as the front bumper at least is partially on the body itself.
      If you don't want the body you might actually be better off making an XL yourself or getting a fire team and re-bodying it.

      @captaincouldverc Yeah but did the fire team come out only a couple weeks before Black Friday? I'm not saying it's impossible but I have a hard time imagining that Horizon would slash the price of a new model before half the people in pre-ordered even have them in their hands.

      Very valid point.
      I think the fireteam came out few months, maybe half a year earlier and I think I remember alot of folks hating the style of it which hurt the initial sales of it.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC  Год назад +2

      It's not the EXB parts that I'm concerned about. It's the parts that are going to end up on both the EXB and the V6 RTRs. Things like the tower to tower brace, servo saver, turnbuckle ends, sway bar links, and a plastic version of the center braces are almost certain to end up on the RTR vehicles. Good proof of that is that there's already a hole for the second screw on the rear brace on this big rock chassis.
      Not really concerned about the EXB specific parts but the vast majority of the updates on the EXB are almost certainly not going to be EXB specific.

      Nope. I've landed directly on the roof probably a half a dozen times now. The body is so heavily reinforced internally that it's pretty durable.

    It's an expensive truck to start. Prices will drop after slow demand, just like the Fireteam.

      Agreed. I would not be surprised if this truck ends up at $600 within a few months.

    A few days ago you claimed it might be obsolete because of the kraton, now it's suddenly the best? 😂 make content that matters instead of just filling space. Quickly losing respect for your channel.
