- Today we are taking a look at the new ARRMA big rock 6s!
One of the newest trucks in the ARRMA line-up and it looks impressive with its crew cab and long list of epic chassis features!
This is not a cheap truck coming in at £769 in the UK and $700 in the US; it's an expensive beast!
I wanted to see how this beast would perform both on road through speed testing then some casual bashing at my local woods and I instantly fell in love with how much presence this truck has.
I love my ARRMA Typhon 6s and my 3s BLX trucks but this was a totally different animal!

1k for an RC for me alot of money for Plastic. Most of my RC I had upgrade 7075 Aluminum parts and steel chassis if it came with that Ya I pay 1k
I can afford it(just have to save up for a little while) that’s not the problem. It’s having the room to store it when it’s not being used lol. It’s Mahoosive!

I dont think the price is bad . Its just people expectations for the truck gotta be inline with what this truck is . If you want a flipping truck , this aint the truck for that . If you want a cool looking 1/7 ripper , this is the one .

@@beyondRC they should make a body option without all the extra bracing . The body is too heavy . But looks good.
We absolutely love our 1/10 scale Big Rock. It was actually the first true hobby grade RC we bought.
We also love our Fireteam that we of course waiting for the $399 USD sale on them to purchase. We even use the hand brake all the time.
Now let's hope they put these on a good sale too!
I’ve always found that the arrma 6s range is a great sweet spot in RC bashing.

Damn. I love the way this thing looks. I just bought a Kraton 6s exb and thought it was the best looking RC. U til now. This gunmetal true truck look is bad ass!!!!
I've had mine now for 7 months and it has taken at least 30 full Gens 6800mAh 6s packs through it, and it just delivers and holds up (except for the body, thought it's still in once piece).
Never had an issue so far with Spektrum gear. Asides those early servos which seemed to crap out after a few runs. New ones seem loads better.
$600 would be great, $300 more you can get a 8S Kraton or Outcast. I do agree it’s overpriced, love that gun metal body Arrma is killing it with all these releases recently.

Fantastic footage here, you did Arrma proud. I have a few £1000+ trucks including the Outcast which is nuts, compared to this it’s good value but I’d rather have a more scale looking Mojave especially the new 4S which is due soon. With the choice of so many entertaining brands out there, I don’t feel the need to spend so much. Great Channel & honest reviews.

Now remember the Talion EXB & the Fireteam when first released was $750 USD. With this very expensive body I believe it's priced appropriately
Nice review mate. As for spectrum electronics I feel that the motors and ESC’s are absolutely fine(pretty good actually) but the servos are garbage and anyone that gets a big and or fast Arrma should change it out for a decent one straight out the box b4 use.
Just to add, The Crosswrench is also very handy to have ,just in case of Vampire attacks.

the big rock looked so fun, yes it is expensive but u do get what you pay for. im just waiting for it to get a bit warmer and im getting an outcast 4s i cant wait. great video loved the off roading.

Great video once again. The more I see this truck the more I'm starting to warm up to it. Still do not think I'm going to pick it up any time soon unless HH does a crazy sale on it. Price is not the reason I'm holding out, more has to do with I need to see something truly different from Arrma to pull the trigger.
That's why im holding out as well, I think something new and special is coming this spring or early summer. Hopefully, love your channel BTW bruh, keep it up.

I'm a firm believer in you only get what you pay for. But I would not pay £700 for an RC car!😮 However, I do prefer the Arrma brand, their cars are well built. I've thrown my Vorteks BLS around for a couple or so years now, and it's still going strong. I think the max I would pay for an RC car is £400.
I definitely shy away from the 'big name' brands because the cost is just astronomical. I'd prefer to get a budget version and upgrade it myself, and end up paying about the cost of an RTR big name. I did that with my Redcat Kaiju (original), and that thing is a tank now, and hits 55 mph on stock electronics with a 4s lipo. But I've still spent less on it than I would have a big name that I'd still want to upgrade.

Glad to see the mirrors held up. I have yet to see anybody break one off but i agree they seem to be a break point! Also agree the price is a tad bit high. Hopefully they have some awesome sales like they did with the fireteam. As far as electronics...i have a lot of the spectrum electronics on many of my trucks and they have never failed! Great video and review man!

Price with the slt3 seems unreasonably high compared with the rest of the 6s range. It definitely looks awesome and performs, yet to hear any fragility on these but I'm guessing the usual 6s reliability. The body reinforcements and one handed removal system look great.
Just touching on the Rochester RC thing for a sec. I've had cause to order a few bits from the this last couple of weeks and every time I've ended up with complimentary Haribo. So if you like RCs, free shipping, bargains and Haribo then I'd look them up 🙂

Tbh yea I have the big rock 3s but spectrum stock is great and I’d highly recommend
I most definitely prefer arrma systems over Traxxas.
i would have to agree with that as well. The stock electrics in my xmaxx are terrible!
If people have a problem with Firma then they also have a problem with Hobbywing, and for a ready to run in comparison to others it's the best electronics package. The Traxxas electronics are trash in comparison and they charge more for them. At least Arrma listens doesn't just keep making the the same trucks with no updates.
Nice review and some great footage! I do like the look of these. In my opinion I think £599 would be a lot more reasonable and then the odd little offer here and there on that.

I dont know why so many are stuck on the Fireteam this has all the same drivetrain as the new Kraton so if you put exb on it and some metal parts people will pay the price no problem lol. Yes the Kraton and this are the same price and you dont have avc which means cheap receiver and transmitter and you do loose out on the metal parts but you get a better body possibly more expensive tires so give and take. All rc's are ridiculous in price but what are we going to do? Overall I enjoy it I like the way it power slides, and the power it has I dont need every rc to do back flips and fly through the air its fun to rip through a track or a nice field even a street I like it but yeah on my channel I have been a a big advocate of less expensive cars we need people to go enjoy the hobby

When you work out that $699 is only £552 at today's exchange rate, Horizon it taking the piss out of us in the UK!! Even with the Rochester RC discount, that's £200 more!!! 🤷🏻♂️

Spektrum and traxxas stock electronics are bad. I had 2 traxxas faulty ESC-s out of 4 and I had only one spektrum ESC and that one caught fire in my infraction on my second 5 minute run. Otherwise I put Hobbywing ESC in almost everything and from 9 Hobbywing ESC-s none of them failed

@@beyondRC my infraction 6S could burned down if I was a little bit slower at that spektrum fire. Luckily it was not too far away.
I mean traxxas sledge is 1/8 and costs 730$ so i wouldn’t say that it’s too expensive🤷♂️

Looks good, goes well but that price mate. I know they have to ship from the US but why do they rip us brits off so much. Very rarely get any "sales" in the UK either. Annoys me so much.

I hate watching Kevin Talbot now. He just got his and he destroyed it. Then he raffles it off when he didn't even pay for it in the first place.
also called the body bad when it didn't survive all those concrete landings.. like any car would survive that..
He says the body is bad I think in terms of durability and context of other bodies holding up to the concrete (ofc that is the con to the pro of the body looking as scale good);
also, idk if destroying in of itself means much since he does viral wacky style of rc vids (i.e. people go to him to see giant jumps, and that brings in mass casual viewers to the hobby itself; altho I agree he should say more disclaimers on durability, at least his comment section does)

as good as it is I think the 6s Big Rock is far too expensive. I think a big point is the Big Rock 3s which is also a beast, it reaches 50mph for people who want speed, its very durable, looks great and bashes with the best of them,, price of that is 369. So the 6s is just too much money in my opinion.

Well, it is lot of money but it is worth it...large scale trucks are different beasts than smaller ones..ànd all competition is priced the same..if I did not get firetram, I would get this one for sure..
It's all option and perspective I guess. If you have deep pockets 650 quid is no money really,, I spent far more on my Tv and I rarely switch it on nowadays, I would get more use out of the Big Rock 6s. However I think diminishing returns also comes into play, I own a Big Rock 3s, yes its smaller but its not a small truck and I will never need more speed, I don't race, my son and I bash about so don't feel the need for any better. At the end of the day each to their own and I am fine with that but for me the Big Rock 6s is just not worth the money. @@ivanvrane7213

well there is no alternative really to compare to but thisa is a 1/7 scale from a top brand. it should be a little more expensive than a 1/8 arrma and is about the same as a 1/8 traxxas. that means the traxxas is the expensive one right?
Losi 1/8 scale truck with 3S electronics goes for 50$ less than this one in the US.
Arrma is arguably the cheapest of those brands. comparing apples to apples is hard but still I see value in arrma cars better than other brands.
IMO by the way the 3S big rock is a great truck for a great price!
The 6S one is bigger and quite more expensive but as I showed comparing to similar cars arrma is good value for money.

its way bigger than the 3s, better built and much more powerful. They were going for 3s big rock looks on a larger platform this is 1/7 scale.
In 2 days I gotta decide between the Big Rock 6s, and the Typhon 6s TLR...what would you pick?
For sure overpriced and Traxxas is 𝗪𝗔𝗬 worse with what they get for Xmaxx
