    Hi guys,
Just wanted to say that MOST employers, like myself, don’t increase the amount of work to our employees because of greed but because of our INCREASED expenses via GOVERNMENT REGULATIONS and inflation. Businesses exist for a PROFIT which is our incentive for taking the RISKS that other don’t want to take. So, when people cry out to politicians for higher mandatory minimum wages and get it, they are in fact putting their jobs in jeopardy or at best increasing their job load. This is just simple economics. As for the few companies that over work their employees, those companies usually go out of business when the economy slows down and goes into a recession.
Nevertheless, great job on this channel. Great content!

I’ll take a moment and agree with yall that this online survey is pretty true, my reasoning for agreeing with it is because the quality of life for all your hard work, isn’t worth much. For example I don’t do much luxury anything, I work a job and by payday I get a depressing check because state and fed say they deserve a certain amount each check.
Now after doing some research and finding that self employment may have some benefits plus doing what I love and making my own hour, yeah I’ll take a hit, and things be not be sunshine and rainbows but it’s a bit better than what I have at the moment, so I’m working towards possibly doing that and making it last a bit more by moving to a less demanding location.
Appreciate yall work, yall are still a powerhouse in my book, keep up the great content

Actually, most Americans do not really take a hit in having a lower salary if they move overseas. Most people don't know that you more than likely qualify for the foreign earned income exclusion on income if you make $120k or less. You may also qualify for foreign housing exclusion or the foreign housing deduction. However, you must live outside of the US for a minimum of about 330 days of the year. This info can be found on the IRS website.

Great to hear from you folks. Great job as usual. You are well intentioned and it means the world to me that you’re promoting DR. From my perspective though, if you don’t have a chunk of change to live on in DR it’s going to be rough. I feel you have to be transparent with the fact that jobs in DR are non existent for age group 40 and above particularly if you don’t have a degree.
So guys, please be sure to let it be known that if folks are going there they better go with their own income. I personally, am willing to fight for that injustice because the culture considers folks that are over 40 pretty much non existent when it comes to the workforce.

I really want to move out of the country but I can't afford to take a pay cut. I spend a lot of money when I'm there. I would never make it on less money there. I'm trying to figure out something where I don't have to take that cut. I love how you were able to do that.

There’s also a crossover or in between generation called Gen Xennial. We’re in between Gen x who were raised pre-Internet and millennials who were raised with the internet. That’s between 1975-1985 or since variation within that. Because we have the experience of being raised before the rise of the internet but also experienced the beginning of it as we were growing up.

I don’t think you guys are talking about lazy people. Your talking about hard working people who give work their all; but is taken advantage of by their employer. Given more and more with so little or no compensation. They give you $1.00 raise; then cut down on your overtime. What else to do, just plan and flee to a better standard of living. So I absolutely understand people taking a pay cut just for a better quality of life. Another good topic James y Norberis. 👍👍👍

Hello just wanted to tell you I love both your channels and the videos that you create.
I think the biggest issue most people have is they don't have a source of income coming in to live off of while living abroad? I don't know if you've covered this already but can you explain ways to make money overseas?
I wanted to move to the Dominican Republic 5 years ago. I have a decent amount in savings, and no debt. I just haven't figured out a way to source recurring income.

I told him it's good for now being that the only person he has to be responsible for is himself, but in the future if things change he'll need to focus on a higher standard of living. Thanks again for another helpful video. Another point is I can see from the ex-pat community in Puerto Plata that extranjeros want to come live in the Dominican Republic but on the other side is the Dominican diaspora that wants to live outside the Dominican Republic for better job opportunities. When they arrive in the United States sure they earn more money, but they have to work harder and perhaps more than 1 job in order to keep up with the increased cost of living. Gringos quieren salir Los Estados Unidos y Dominicanos quieren salir La Republica Dominicana...jajaja

I am really interested in this topic...I am a 56 year old Software Engineer and I am seriously considering leaving my country and coming to DR. I live in Barbados and like the USA, it seems things are becoming more expensive every day and I am not able to save a cent. I am near retirement and would just like to live the remainder of my life in peace and just enjoy. I am wondering though do you see any changes in the DR where it may eventually become like the USA seeing that that system in the states eventually infects other countries. Thank you for your video.

    • @NorberisR
      @NorberisR  5 месяцев назад +1

😅 restaurants and supermarket prices are slightly cheaper. We still see a savings by living here. Rent in Florida was $2200 now we pay $1300. We also save 100s in gas because there is no commuting as we work from home. Health insurance was around $700 monthly now we pay around $185 monthly. Car insurance was $350 monthly in Florida here we pay about $15 monthly. All this is savings. We look at more than just cost food and restaurants when we look at where we are saving.
