Thanks for the useful review 👍. I currently have a pair of BTE aids, and I like that only the thin, transparent tube going down into the ear is visible from the side. These ITE aids are more obvious, though I think they draw less attention these days since so many people wear AirPods, etc. One question is how well do the ITE aids stay put in the ear? My experience with BT in the ear "buds", like AirPods, is that they don't fit securely and fall out easily.
Great video. I have both Vitro Titanium IIC and also Virto P312. What’s the best setting on the P312s when outside running to reduce wind noise. I don’t get any issue with the Titanium but the 312s pick up the wind noise
Perfect timing for this video! I’m planning on getting news ITE hearing aids this year. I definitely prefer the ITE over the BTE. They’re a lot more comfortable for me and I feel like I hear better with them. I have Oticon right now and they’re great!
Can i also wear ITE as i no longer deel comfortable with BTE and yes i have profound hearing..i been told i could hear but not the same as bte
Hey cliff glad you added the 4th disclaimer
Any clue as when/if Phonak will upgrade Virto to Lumity and rechargeable ?
Doctor, my ear canals are too small for the hearing aids that are being offered today. Is there a hearing aid that can sit on the ear but not in the canal?
Dr. Cliff, great video with important and great information as always. I have one question which hearing aids is best working with cochlear in one ear? I am getting cochlear implants in may 2023 and unsure which HA will work best . I would prefer if if possible. Thank you
Depends on the CI brand that you go with. If you get Advanced Bionics you'll want the Phonak Naida Link. Cochlear Americas you'll want a ReSound Hearing aid. Medel doesn't have a directly compatible hearing aid yet.
7:47 the Starkey Genesis AI model has been released. Do you know if those use an AI trained model like the Oticon’s do? Any other features that are different in that new version?
I am in Malaysia. I was told the super power version of virto paradise that suits my profound loss is not allowed to be sell here. Any reason?
Does the adjustable programming really work let's say going into a restaurant?
Nice.
Lifelong hearing aid wearer. Have Phonak virto B power CIC which are just over five years old. Trying to decide if I hold out for the Phonak Lumity to eventually become CIC or just go with the Paradise.
Bluetooth and rechargeable are not important to me.
Thinking about checking out the other brands (thanks for the suggestions) but my default is to stay with Phonak as my brain in now trained in their audio philosophy.
Do you do virtual consults? Based in WA and happy to provide recent audio/speech testing scores, history etc.
I mean I'm sure he does although alternatively you can always fly down there in the off chance he doesn't
czy mozna zrobic nowy aparat sluchowy bez wynalazkow jak bluetooth i takie tam inne duperele tak zeby był mocny ponad 80% nadecybeli i batreria trzymała w llC dwa tygodnie
For those with the IIC or CIC versions--how do you get beyond 'hearing' your chewing which is very distracting! Do others not have this problem?
You mean occlusion? That can have to do with the type of fitting, or the vent size. if the fit is too closed in or the vent is too small, it can cause occlusion.. often molds can still cause a slight bit of an occlusion because they're completely fitted in the ear, but they just need to be fitted right
I have a question, our audiologist tells me there is no such thing as non- Bluetooth hearing aids for moderate to severe hearing loss. My Mom is 92- we need nothing fancy; really do not want Bluetooth or high tech hearing aides. Any advice?
yea you'd think the hearing aid industry is designing hearing aids for tech savvy 15 year olds and not seniors who actually wear them...the industry just cant keep it simple,,thanks to new hearing aid rules though you might be able to find simple to use OTC aids with manual volume controls and not those ridiculous TV style remotes to control them..and i recommend analog over digital as well, which you might be able to get OTC but not at audiologist who sell the latest aids.
The Signia Insio Ax rechargeable is also a great hearing aid.
Does it support Tru 360 degree directional microphone in Insio ITC AX? Which one is better RIC or ITC?
I would also mention the signia insio AX, also available in rechargeable ITC size and ITE
I’m a registered Hearing Instrument Specialist in Ontario Canada and I dispensed about a dozen of the Insio AX devices when they first launched, but they’ve been so hit or miss with my clients that I’ve stopped recommending them for several reasons. I find they are HUGE and unattractive compared to the other rechargeable customs on the market and the inductive charger is extremely finicky. I’ve had them work great for a handful of people, but overall they’ve been really disappointing. I would have been shocked if Dr. Olson had them on this list.
@@feliciaenns2503 yeah to be honest I agree, I’ve had good success with my patients with them, however they are so large compared to other brands. I work work for a large company in UK and we are restricted with what brands we sell so I’m limited to choice, however I’ve been sticking to battery customs to be honest, and generally in the UK we don’t dispense too many custom aids 90%+ of my sales are RIC’s I’d say
G’day, Dr Cliff and Dr Rachel, areITE aids appropriate for reverse slope hearing loss. Do they have the ability to trap low frequency and create the insertion loss need for enhancement? Cheers

I have been told that rechargeable batteries have a shelf life. That's why our iPhones go down after awhile as they can only be charged so many times. If that is true then the rechargeable hearing aids would have a much shorter life than those that use outside batteries. Do you know the answer to this one Dr. Cliff?
This is true
Tell me what inner hearing loss means?
my father need help to choose device , can you help him
My son has this type of hearing loss. He has the same loss in both ears. He only wears in the ear aides. His loss happened at birth exhaled recal matter at birth. He is 42 years old now. Looking for new aide.
Very informative video. But you speak way too fast. They are tiring to follow, especially when English is not your first language.
@dampferapotheke RUclips allows you to slow down the playback speed on your own. This way Dr. Cliff won’t have to make a separate video at a slower speed just for you. Give it a shot.
I know you probably won't reply but maybe some here will, which one actually streams music better? I have the re-sound and when I stream music it sounds distorted and NO bass at all... thanks in advance,
Which model do you have - is it the newer Customs by ReSound that was shown in this video, and is yours ITC or ITE?
I have Phonak Virgo and have the same issues.
@@MikeHoopes I really don't know I looked on the aides and it looks like they are GN but I don't see all that well either
@@ronshalita How long have you had them?
@@MikeHoopes i bought them about a year ago.. took them back to costco 2 months ago and they gave me a new pair.. i looked at the bottom of the charger and there is an IC on the bottom of the case not sure what that means…
Strange no mention of signia ax itc
I am using for tha past 6 months. They are the best in terms of clarity and supression of background noise. Better than previous starkey products. Yes bluetooth in 2 phones dont work and signia needs to work on their app look and features.
Does it support Tru 360 degree directional microphone in Insio ITC AX? Which one is better RIC or ITC?
Please nag Phonak to introduce rechargeable ITE customs! They can look to their sister company Sennheiser for design inspiration similar to Resound and Jabra!
Wait sister company you sure?
@@meric12131415 Sonova owns both Phonak and Sennheiser.
@@Shri_V ah I never knew that I guess you learn something new everyday eh?
I still am baffled in regards to why Widex has not come up with a ITE w/Bluetooth! Even their parent company Signia has them.
You can slow down at top of video in playback speed.
🤣 ah I just realized you made a typo there in the chapters section and typed virtual paradise
the best would be phonak b titanium a little bigger for 13 batteries instead of 10 batteries think man
What about the best BTE's of 2023, I'm not finding them when I search you
Best Top BTE 2022 ❓️
Is there a reason you left Signia off the list?
Yep, it isn't as good as the others in my opinion.
is this an information video or aspeed talking competition.....whatever I cant listen to him
Your video is way to wordy. Say more with fewer words. With all due respect you lost me quickly.
