Man I miss real documentaries like this about the town like we had in the early 2000s. No culture vultures, no out of towners, just those that really grew up in the town

Man, this brother is got hard grind KNOWLEDGE, I had some friends back on the east Coast that would have benefited from this knowledge.
Unfortunately they got locked up in the Connecticut prison system, pushing that rock and they took everyone on the block after these brothers was buying Benzs and boat's in the hood, after one year of the po po surveillance, they came in around 3 am and went from house to house, kicking in doors , 50 of my classmates was given manitory life sentences, Connecticut threw the book at them!!! Unlike Cali
When I go home and pass by the hood I see their kids playing on the block and my Buddy's would say "yo that's so and so's son or daughter's
And these guys had it all, scholarships to go to college, parents worked hard in them manufacturing plants. So sad
The block grind will get you two things. A cell or a coffin to lay in . God bless this brother and Thank the producers of this eye and mind opening documentary, they say their are hoods all over the United States, so it's not where you are from , it's where you are at in your head. Peace ✌️

*I grew up on 35th ave and Foothill. Once I crossed the street to a market, and bought some candy in the mid 70's. I was about 5 years old. When some bigger 7 or 8 year old walked towards me, and snatched the candy out of my hand. So, I punched upwards and hit him directly in the mouth. It was on that day forward, I never took sh**#t** from anybody. No matter how big you were. The life-long struggle ensued from there lol. At King City boxing gym with 46 amateur fights.. Until, I graduated at Cal State* 🤔

He said, "Being in Prison for 10yrs is like being an Army Veteran". Nah! As a Military Veteran we lived life and not with that bullshit that was fucking up the Community. We had jobs that didn't fuck up the City of Oakland. Oakland was a beauty in the 70's and beautiful creative people came from this City. Oakland was tarnished during his times on the Streets. A lot of INNOCENT people lost their lives that were not in the Streets. The results of all that bullshit from the 80's is a byproduct of what you see when you walk outside today...Sad!

Today they calling because look at how disrespectful and how the youngsters get at them . These are your people also but if u treat them like an enemy or irrelevant what are they supposed to do ? Seeing my old neighborhood is a trip now..grew up as a kid on 26th ave the dead end street..was rough around there..but we didn’t really know…until there was a shooting while we were walking home from Hawthorn…that’s when my parents said fuck it.. and we moved to Concord..my mom couldn’t take it anymore..💯🫡✌🏾

If I remember correctly u lived on the 1st floor of the building on 26th Ave i lived on the 2nd but I had family all over on the 1st and 3rd floor. U remember the triangles u can look all the way to the roof.. if u was standing on the 1st floor where the mailboxes was at u look up and u can see to the 2nd floor and to the 3rd and windows to the roof. I had a blast growing up there and I think I remember u as well!!
