Hey man, this is my ex brother in law, used to go see him with his moms and sister. This guy gave a square dude from Austin TX a pass in the streets of the Town. Aside from that, he shot straight to me and educated me on life. He encouraged me to finish at Berkeley and do bigger things. Thank D. You'll always be my brother!
Fuck up all that lying
That’s awesome. I had no idea who this was, and stumbled upon this interview. What an intelligent man. Very smart, and an incredible story teller! Wow! Hey, Garrett..do you know what happened to his voice?
Love these types of comments when family and close friends of the person being interviewed speaks out and or sheds light on their experiences with them🎯💯✅
I respect the Father that He strived to be regardless of His circumstances... and for that God bless Him.
James Hanninen You sound stupid AF... not all black women are failures and I don’t see how you can justify in your mind to allow your lips to utter those abhorrent words.
This is a very intelligent, articulate and self educated man, I believe in his new journey, he will change lives. I wish you the best Lil D, you are a ‘loyal’ man. It counts.
This man went thru all Hells fire and look how GOD Brought him out..🙏👣
OG!! Being respected for being non violent & uniting people makes you a real OG . Respect to Lil D
People should listen...He has words of wisdom...A real stand up guy definitely cut from a different cloth than most
He speaks nothing but facts.
FACTS AF
Lil D is right. He's a real gangster for not ratting. They don't make em like this anymore 💯💯
Much love to ldi crew y'all keep it real
James is the Realist Cat around right now. He's doing some great things for himself and family. Perhaps he might Take a page from the Original Black Panthers and put his name out among the City of Compton. Yo James, Politics might be for you.!
Bobby shmurda a real one actually took half of his homies sentence!!
Lil d pretty much said it's pointless to be a drug dealer or gangster because u will be dead or do 30 years and it's not worth it at all
He was truly corrupted and turned out my his elders a shame
What he says about the pharmaceutical companies are straight facts.
And that's why he's out of prison now. Because even though he was selling drugs he a decent dude
First time I ever waited for a full interview. Best two hours of my day.

That's a real shame if this was the best two hours of any day.
No Thankyou not really, the insight & story is amazing, you don’t understand cause you not from the bay! But this man story a one of a kind

This is a solid dude! I appreciated this interview! Damn he became a grandfather in jail and his son was just born when he went in! That's crazy! The system makes you pay a lifetime for an adolescent decision!
In his case he paid rather for what he had the potential to be rather than what he did and it's fucked up
Adolescents know right from wrong
@@draftking77312 yes . However they don’t have the equipment of an adult.
This interview couldn't be more on point. Notice how D doesn't expose his business dealings with Freeway Rick until the clip is shown and he still keeps it short
This is an award winning interview!
Indeed
Thanks

I agree
MAD RESPECT for lil D! I laughed, I cried, and connected. I love this documentary! Beautifully done! OBAMA you CHANGED LIVES!
By far one of the best interviews I've EVER watched. Dude was/is solid
Put a big smile on my face when saying his goodbyes !!! Thanks for the advice lil d
Real Talk. I'm from Oakland. Lil D was a teen celebrity in high school, everyone heard of his name even if you never met him. LIL D was the talk of the town.
Real guy
And that's a big reason he went down
Honestly think this might’ve been my favorite interview thus far, and I didn’t know anything about this guy until I started watching this, just mad interesting and humble 🙏🏾🙏🏾
literally the same with me
Yeah first time hearing of him. This dudes story should definitely be a movie
Yeah Vlad does some good interviews. I ended up watching him from watching the Rick Ross interview (the real Rick Ross) great story, happy to see he is free
Listen to yukmouth album called jj based on a Will story part one
Bra I swear same thing for me
all respect to you Lil D, you took years like a real champ!! God bless you.
Darryl Lil' D' Reed's story brought me to tears at the end. His story would make an excellent movie. WOW! I couldn't even imagine doing all that time. I thought I was going to die after doing three months. Thank God for his Grace and Mercy! We all fall down from time to time...it's getting UP and learning from your experience that makes you NOT only a better person, but a TRUE SURVIVOR! Be Blessed Lil D!
Amen
It's all designed to destroy the brain. From the colors used to the design of the prison are cell. You got to be mentally strong. Go to school, read books and try to stay involved in positive constructive activities and conversations to strengthen the mind from degenerating and get released the same person are worse. I like this dude never before in my life heard about him, but i could listen to him for hours. Very knowledgeable for sure and really interesting story to tell.
Lil D we all want to see your story on the big screen. In do time it's going to happen. You're so inspirational....
In DUE** time. But yeah, you’re right. Would be an interesting film!!
Michael K Williams would be a good actor to represent lil D.
I didn’t know anything about (lil, D) but I do now, great interview ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾

Stand up brother, they don't make them like this anymore. One of your best interview vlad!!
Lots of respect to Lil D. He's 1 in a million.
I've never heard of this man but he's such a stand-up human being, not for what he did to go to prison or for going to prison. He's an amazing person for the growth he's had and his viewpoints on life and the way he talks about it that's all about telling kids what WILL happen to you instead of using it as his own time to shine. This entire interview, he's just a good man and I love the random smiles he does when Vlad is or isn't talking because it shows that he still has joy. Even when he talks about himself, it's not about drugs, it's about how he was able to develop a strong business mindset at an early age which I think can help other kids but in a positive direction.
Man, this was a solid humble interview from an Oakland legend. ✌🏽& blessings Lil D.
With interviews like this, I prefer to wait until the full version comes out. There's certain stories you don't wanna hear in parts and sections.
So true it hit in ‘83 I had my daughter in 82 and by the time she was 2 I had left her with my cousin too cracked out to pick her up - thank you god for saving my life
This man should have never been given that much time and that Judge should be held responsible for the extra 15yrs he gave this man in error. He also should have been granted parole a long time ago. The US imprisons more people per capita than any other country! Thank God he made it out alive!
I say it's the best interview Vlad put out period shout out Lil D
im glad everyone feels the same way I do.
💯
He got excited just telling that story about getting out.. That's dope... My brother did 13 down and I ain't never seen him walk as fast as he did the day he got his date....
Never fold, never squeal, never told never will
What inspiration this man is, peace my brother
NEEDS TO BE A MOVIE, THIS MAN DESERVES THAT BLESSING!
Lil d a lot of people know who you are....and brother we thank you..
The realest and most heart felt interview from a drug dealer.coming out of prison.ive seen in a long time.
This is the definition of a real man. He took responsibility for what he did and took his sentence on the chin.
A real man would of stood up and not succumb to peer pressure and built his community, not destroy it by selling poison to it's people.
@@emperorcommodus2315 No,he was not a man. He said numerous times,he was a kid sometimes preteen. Did you watch or listen, Comprehension 😑.
Absolutely. There's so many layers, two parents still poor, the drugs didn't magically appear.... What's obvious is when he understood better,he lived better.
Got nothing but respect for this man
@placehood u don't know wtf you're talking about..why don't you educate yourself before flapping tht fat fucking mouth

You have respect for a man that sold drugs which resulted in deaths of many?
Vlad was asking him some really good question.. He's definitely a good Interviewer!

Finally seeing the face behind the name. This dude’s legend is huge in Oakland. I didn’t even know we had Jamaicans hustling in Oakland...
Woooow Vlad, you interviewed an Oakland legend❗️Great job ✨❗️
Favorite interview on RUclips by far.
So much wisdom and cold pieces of reality in this interview! Much respect to lil d thank you glad for the content

Lil D is an inspiration. Look at who helped Lil D. Black women. Brothas take note when you choose a woman from another ethnic group.
THE KING OF OAKLAND. They need to make a movie about LIL D from OAKLAND.
This dude is as solid as they come, one of my favorite interviews next to Benny the butcher and Michael franzeze
I remember being a kid sitting curbside watching Felix Mitchell's funeral

A theatrical release of your story would get an Oscar. Hands down
Just like 2Pacs biopic? Right? You dumb ass.
Lil D is absolutely 💯 on point about the pharmaceutical industry. Double standards is always in effect.
How does someone become a crack king in late 80s Oakland and avoid violence. That’s unbelievably amazing this dude should be an ambassador or something

Amazing story. You did bad things (things to survive) but you served your time like a man. Much respect dude.
Yo. Lil D,
I got a bit over a month taken off my last couple years.
(Everyone at this particular prison got it at the time - Port Phillip Prison). Because we had Lock-Down for months over something we didn’t do!! A electrical fire in the facility. The securities company’s fault. Not ya prisoners.
Anyways, hearing you talk about when you got your Clemency.... maaaaaaaan that gave me shivers!!
Knocking those years off... I know how I felt getting a couple tiny months off.
Your composure, you message, your story.
None other.
Love from Melbourne, Australia. You affecting far greater than you may realise.

Great interview. Lil D is a great storyteller. I’m happy VLAD let him talk without a lot of interruption. I hate how drugs has crippled our community. But this man served more than the time he deserved. I hope he will use the rest of his life to dissuade our youth from street life.

One the realest interviewers I ever heard
I'm from Detroit and knew all about the white boy Rick situation. I knew a lot of dudes and females in my hood who hung around and where part of YBI. I chose a different path in life. Lil D its because he is WHITE BOY RICK. Not black boy Lil D. They look at it as "our" story not being unique. They have the mindset that we are all criminals in their eyes. That's why there is no televised story....well most of them that used to be on America's Most Wanted or American Justice. Its a vicious cycle. But Im glad you are out. You seem to be such a nice person with a heart of gold.
If VLAD say “OK” one more time.
LOOOOL Im deaddd

Wow!!! I had to hear until the end. What are smart man! And Daryl is absolutely right - the government definitely saw him as a threat. He was an example…. My opinion: Drug-users do make the choice to buy the drugs. That’s like locking up a bakery because they sell cake. Some of these pharmaceutical companies need to be locked up too!
Crack was not cake highly addictive i did powder for years no problem then crack came game over
This is an amazing interview. Thank you Vlad and Lil D dropping gems.
