This fool kicked people who had respectful, valid criticism. He too fragile.

I personally think a lot of internet trolls actually believe their "criticism" is valid but most of them have grown up in a dumbed down western education system where they've never actually been taught to think critically or to voice opinions or facts in a proper way. N. America especially is filled with people shuffled through the education system, even university level, who are so logically clueless they don't even know they're making the most basic elementary fallacies. Adults with child like abilities at logic
Every youtube comment board is full of them. And these people think they are correct. But they're not.
It's either that or the criticism is given along with some snark. So don't just give me an example of "well a person said this...." I need to see what they ACTUALLY said to see if it's a "criticism" with snark and they're just being an a hole.
So you'll have to forgive me if I'm skeptical about your claim and if I'm skeptical of you're ability to judge "respectful". In short....prove your point.
Yeah, this dude is super easily offended. Even on things that arent "trolling", he gets offended and spends his time replying and making posts about it. He clearly cares way too much about what people think.
I'm late to the game. What did Tommy say or do to get such backlash? Is there a video posted somewhere?

Tommy is a great player. Kids are jealous basically and social media allows them to say shit their moms would slap them for.

I would have an ego too if I was that good. He’s consistently relevant and his concepts are to the point. Drill sgt type. Everyone is different.
Way to go Tommy. When online adolescence kicks in too hard, it is the job of us adults to get the perpetrators to bring it down. Hormones mixed with egos are a potent concoction especially when it can hide behind a keypad indoors. We cannot - must not get too angry and emotional about it, but we can instruct and advise. By choosing and selecting our response carefully we must seek to diffuse and re-direct. It ain't easy, but I think we must make it our responsibility to lead by example. The youth of today, are the adults of tomorrow. They don't have to follow the same mold as has been the case for two or three generations. By the way, I love your instructional drumming videos, they are just brilliant. I have been drumming since I was around eleven years of age, and at sixty-seven I have a lot of drumming behind me, and I still play every day. I would also like to give something back and explain some of the things that helped me along the way, and we'll see how badly I get trolled when I open my drum academy.

@@russellesimonetta9071 I disagree. I studied with Joe Morello, and the man was humble yet could blow the doors off most drummers. I've always heard the same about Louie Bellson - a real gentleman. Tommy is too full of himself IMO.
I don't see this as ego, I see this as a man setting up a line, in his house, that won't be allowed to be crossed, without consequences. Spirited debate, and presentation of ones opinions and beliefs is one thing, but antisocial, disrespectful and abusive behavior is grounds for termination from the space, be it a physical structure or an online gathering space. We as people need to do better, and we're the only ones in control of that, but we also get to decide what we will put up with, and allow. A teacher will not allow that in their classroocm, and Tommy owes no one the right to behave in any manner that doesn't align with his principles. I applaud his taking a firm stance in regards to his values. Also, a brilliant drumming genius.

lol what an ego...dont get me wrong Tommy IS in fact a really great player but you can tell just by his personality that he thinks he is an 11/10 when he is really just an 8/10

@@jojothetasmaniansassmonkey8866 I think he makes a valid point about boys not knowing how to be men and Tommy seems like he explored that. A great book called Iron John by Robert Blye talks about this.
@@flexabustbergson6141 i don't disagree that he made a valid point in that regard, nor do I condone said "trolling". that being said he, in general, still comes off as an incredibly arrogant, and petty person. He has a well-known reputation in the industy for being difficult to work with and it's not hard to see why many prefer not to work with him. it's no wonder Carter Mclean once said that the only thing he ever learned from Tommy was how not to treat people.

People need to learn some civility in social media & the idea that freedom of speech overrides any form of moderation is false. Defamation through slander & libel exist for a reason, but they lie at the extreme end of unacceptable commentary; there's plenty more commentary that still requires moderation. Your house, your rules. It's annoying, because it can be time consuming to moderate online content. Great drumming & teaching btw.
