Good ol P90 tone! This was my third time recording it and I feel like I stayed in the pocket this time for sure. Probably my first recording where I feel like I made it through without any blunders.🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thanks so much!!! Yep, chrome covered P90’s. It’s the Gibson Iommi SG Special. The $2,400 version. Had some mods done to make it more closely resemble Tony’s “Monkey” red SG. In the process of swapping in a set of Jaydee Monkey P90 pickups and swapping the Gibson P90’s into my Epiphone Monkey SG Special.
This is your best video so far. Really good, man. We always talk about your tone, gear and stuff, but your fingers here are helping to create that tone. Having watched you play so much, I can see an increase in confidence, even with the camera nerves most of us get. There's that feeling, right? That feeling when you cross over, when you're no longer playing someone else's song because you've made it your own. Confidence flows from there, and this is probably the first time I'm really seeing the beginning of that from you. 😎💪🏻🤘🏻 You also got an effective volume mix between you and the song: I can hear the song clearly, and I can also hear you clearly. It's always tricky for those of us who're still living in the stone ages with room recording 😁. But yeah, it makes it a lot better experience for the viewer/listener, or at least I think it does. For example, those people who told me they can't hear my guitar in the "Electric Eye" video because the guitar volume doesn't tower above the backing track need to get the shit out of their ears or get better audio equipment 😄. I like the blend so it sounds like I'm part of the song, just like you did in this video. Stay strong. I mean, I know we can't always. But we *can* keep picking ourselves back up when we fall into the void, at least. ✌🏻
Thanks brother, much appreciated! I’m super happy with my improvement! I’ve learned these songs to the point where I can focus less on the song and more on the groove and the timing!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I’ve always had a guitar but never had the time to dedicate to mastering the instrument so I say I “ play “ on a guitar rather than I “ play a guitar “ . This is one track I stuck with , l love this riff . Keep up the good work , thanks for sharing 🤘👍
Thanks brother, much appreciated!!!! Yeah I finally got that tune dialed in. I did two earlier covers of it and had some mistakes. Thanks for the sub!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
@remembertheblacksabbath I've been listening to you for a bit now and I definitely see progress, as Tony Iommi has said, just persevering through it. Oh I love your whole setup like all the amps and guitars. Gives me some goals to achieve. Thanks for motivating me I've been playing since I was 12 and am now in my late 30`s. I think you're being to develop feel which my guitar instructor told me that can't really be taught. I'm going to stay tuned for more sabbath jams by you. Remember the sabbath!!!!
