Our first and only performance this season for the Tavis Smiley show on PBS.
I had forgotten how much fun it is doing our little 3 camera musical shoots with no rehearsal, just feel it and do it! Love my technical team.

The microphones are distorting so bad, it’s hard to watch because his performance and the filming was superb . I see this is 11years old . Hopefully it’s something with the upload levels because this is a really nice piece of work. Marcus Miller is probably one of the best Jazz/Funk bass players alive . His style is unmistakable and playing unmatched. Going back to Miles, he’s one of my favorites, thanks for sharing this piece of all around excellence . Well done .

interesting he has another 70's jazz bass the same as his main one. that one is totally diff grain on the body and the wear pattern is where he doesn't play. Gues it's from when he has the signatures with fender, but it doesn't have his signature on the headstcok

Benn aq fan of M-Suare since about 1979. He s also a wonderful humanbeing with a very gracious heart and soul. Have seen him a dozen times or more and he never ceases to amaze. The funkiest human on th eplanet and a bass prodigy even at 53! He is a complete musician and artist and producer. I could go on and on, just start buying his stuff and get out there to see this incredible cat.

King of the bass:)
There's the classic Marcus bass tone we all know and love. Fender and EBS was his best tone combo. Some have said his days with SWR. Either way, Say goodbye to this tone cause nowadays it's Sire and Markbass amps. Awful in my opinion, but Marcus' playing is better than ever and his album releases continue to blow my mind with his bass skills and second to none songwriting skills.

I saw the Tavis Smiley show that night and was blown away by this performance! Simply unreal mastery and interpretation. Can't wait to see Marcus Live, somewhere....anywhere.
Truly amazing the sound is awsome very technical I don't understand why we treat own so bad and they have to go over seas to be appericated we have to give props to our own that are on the cutting edge!! I hear and read people trying to tear down different musicians Marcus is a house hold icon. I'm from Pittsburgh and I can count on one hand how many times Marcus been here and I find the very tragic.
