Love the sound of this woman and the band...really neat, different. I'm an old 76 year old retired musician...I remember them back when, I liked them then, like them still. Unique!
I was 13, and it was a confusing time being an American Navy brat living overseas and feeling like a misfit during an awkward stage in life. Edie and her friends made me feel like someone understood. I still find comfort and safety in her voice and lyrics.
I WAS 23 AND WAS IN MY PRIME LIVING MY BEST LIFE. I NEVER DREAMED THAT 56 YEARS OLD NOW THAT I'D BE GOING THROUGH THIS HELL AND RELIVING THIS MUSIC TO MAKE ME HAPPY AGAIN. MUSIC MAKES THE WORLD GO ROUND
This is an awesome album. One of the best from the late 80's. She followed this album with "Ghost of a Dog", another good album. Shooting rubber bands at the Stars is still a great listen.
The illustrations are Edie's. She went to college to study art. When you see similar illustrations, such as on Stranger Things and some of Edie's solo works, those are hers. As for the animation, whoever did it used Edie's illustrations and I'm sure her concept. She is an amazingly talented artist.
Look up Dreamtime by Daryl Hall. It was an earlier video than this and has some cool animation in it, too. I remember being amazed back then any time a music video incorporated animation. It was definitely pretty rare.
@ Shani Heckman here’s the link to Dreamtime. It’s not as advanced as this video but it was very cool at the time. :) ruclips.net/video/oed8rUV_wdY/видео.html
I met her husband, Paul Simon, in the Men's Room at Yankee Stadium around 1991-92 he's a tiny guy, I thought he was a teenager at first until we made eye contact, he was pretty cool, I told him about my 2 Goldfish I had when I was 6 years old named Simon and Garfunkel, he was amused, Lol!
me too... i got whas i am ever in ,my head and i just can't rememewbr what bands and who the great singer were...finally today i find it,, writing down some lyrics on web...i'm so happy . good times, iw as under army duty in 1989 and loved this album , was so innovative .

Hers & Steve Martin's performance of "Love Has Come For You" on The View has renewed my appreciation of Edie's voice from listening to her back in college. Good grief, this woman improves with time.
As youngest of six music loving siblings, I found Eddie and The New Bohemians when my life was chaotic, upended, and filled with trepidation. Her vocals saved me many a night
I remember it was the late 80s. I was in a record store and I heard What I Am, I forgot was I was buying and had to have this album. I have been a fan ever since. I just liked their sound.
i was so lucky to get to see edie on the Ghost of a Dog tour at the Sunshine Theater in NM. It was the best concert i have ever been to, and i have been to ALOT, the atmosphere was as if everybody was linked together! Very Spiritual!! the song Forgiven off of Ghost of a dog is my Fav, and Air of December off of Shooting Rubber Bands other Fav. Remember the Vets, and Peace!!
Love her standing and balancing on one foot while and singing, not to mention the Music and her voice is amazing, the guitar and band also amazing (( LOVE IT ALL ))
You must be kidding, she's the most boring female artist of that era. All her music sounds the same without variation. Paul Simon certainly married her for something other than her music. She's a one hit artist like Hootie and the Blowfish.
I was fortunate to see Lou Reed on Halloween in Milwaukee back in the 70s, the Milwaukee Police wouldn't turn the lights off during the concert. Regardless, joints were still being passed around.
A ski bum in Mammoth Lakes when this came out, will always remind me of Steep and Deep skiing High Sierra. I’m in Tahoe now in 2022 listening still. And after 18 feet in December it sounds killer
Okay the cat sticks it's head through the TV but it's head hasn't gone through from the inside and gets zapped.... uh yeah there's some WTF problems there.... and did the song just change?! I mean it's like a totally different song.... why do peoplew do this!? It's like you're listening to one song with a good beat or a nice rhythm and then all of a sudden it changes out of nowhere?!!?
I know nothing about this band other than the song what I am. She's 57??? Talk about deva. I thought she was 24. Ha. Boy I missed that one. Somebody found the fountain of youth. I mean really. Sorry I'm just amazed. I'm 62. Call me grandpa compared to her. Amazing.
Best song. I could play this song 50x in a day and not tire of it.
Someday it'll play at my wedding. Edie rocks the house.
What I Am is great, too-
I was 93 when I first saw them play live at The Hung Horse in L.A.
And I'm still boppin like a bunny to this honey.
Crips for life nig!

I was 19 and in the Marines that's pretty much how it made me feel too.
The first cassette my mom let me take to my room🎉
@@DevineHopeFoundation You have almost the same age like Edie Bricknell (born 1966)
I was 17, I still love her to this day. Her songs got me through a lot!! Still do!! ❤ and I’m much older now 😊
This is an awesome album. One of the best from the late 80's. She followed this album with "Ghost of a Dog", another good album. Shooting rubber bands at the Stars is still a great listen.
+Thomas Woodley You are right. I listen to this album all the way through at least 2 times a year.
+Dennis B I just got it on vinyl and I'm OBSESSED.
That's great!

i beg to differ, what about dire straits money for nothing, some of the peter Gabriel videos and A HA ''take on me''

Yeah... Time flies doesn't it? Same feeling here...🙄
@@TheDarkDutchman my grandma always told me, guess she was right!

This gal is so amazing. I loved here when she first came out, and I still do love her. She's amazing.
1987
greatriffishere
with a 60's sound. :-)
Edie's voice is so calm and soothing, also it has a fuzzy and rock vibe I truly felt in love with her voice
edie you so right
I always dreamed of having a relationship like this song...and I finally found it in 2010.
You are always the same age like Edie Brickell
I met her husband, Paul Simon, in the Men's Room at Yankee Stadium around 1991-92 he's a tiny guy, I thought he was a teenager at first until we made eye contact, he was pretty cool, I told him about my 2 Goldfish I had when I was 6 years old named Simon and Garfunkel, he was amused, Lol!
Edie should have her own clothing line. I would buy everything. Especially the purple suede lace-up boots.
Pretty sure you can get Levi's at tge store
those boots, yes!
I think her voice is just so beautiful! So glad I found her on Utube, I lost her for a long time............

Beautiful song! All musicians, not only the bass player, are great.
She was Sheryl Crow before Sheryl Crow was Sheryl Crow ---
I remember this song best from the How I Got Into College soundtrack. Freaking love that movie!!
I lived next to Edie in New Canaan CT. She is so nice and down to earth.💜
I fucking adore edie...
2019 almost over, this song still one of my fav.☀️
Life is better than the days behind
What's mine is yours, and what's yours is mine,
No aggravation that we can't get through
A situation for the lucky few
And everyday is just a little more
Of time together to be happy for
I'm happy even when the times are rough
'Cause any time with you is good enough
When we love like we do
Love like we do
I don't believe in hatred anymore
I hate to think of how I felt before
When anger overwhelms your very soul
It's hard to realize you'll ever know
When we love like we do
Love like we do
Love like we do
Love like we do
Life is better than the days behind
What's mine is yours, and what's yours is mine,
No aggravation that we can't get through
A situation for the lucky few
When we love like we do

Love like we do
Love like we do
Love like we do

Sweet nostalgia.
Amor como lo hacemos
Love Like We Do
La vida es mejor que los días atrás
Life is better than the days behind
Lo mío es tuyo y lo tuyo es mío
Whats mine is yours & whats yours is mine
No hay agravamiento que no podamos pasar
No aggravation that we can't get through
una situación para los pocos afortunados
a situation for the lucky few
Y cada día es sólo un poco más
And every day is just a little more
de tiempo juntos para ser felices por
of time together to be happy for
Soy feliz incluso cuando los tiempos son difíciles
I'm happy even when the times are rough
Porque cualquier momento contigo es suficiente
'Cause any time with you is good enough
Cuando... amamos como lo hacemos
When we...Love like we do
Ya no creo en el odio
I don't believe in hatred anymore
Odio pensar en cómo me sentí antes
I hate to think of how I felt before
Cuando la ira abruma tu alma
When anger overwhelms your very soul
es difícil darse cuenta de que alguna vez lo sabrás
it's hard to realize you'll ever know
Amor como nosotros
Love like we do
Absolute pure good vibes music from my early days. Definitely part of the #SoundtrackOfMyLife
one of the most underrated voices.. Edie Brickell
The lucky few...
I don't hate anyone, just myself
ths band was amazing as well

great song with real life lyrics. Wish she was still makin' music.
She is... what makes you happy
It came out 2018, she's 52 and didn't seem to age much in 30 years.
Is splendored thing
The vibe is so late 80s/early 90s and I love it
She could've worked for Nickelodeon in the early 90s
What a cool chick. Reminds me alot of my girl.
So mellow and smooth!
who made the animation for this video?
If you remember this Masterpiece song you are not old you are high quality vintage. 💞👌😊👍
If your from Dallas back in the day... well, you already know! Greatness!!!!
Love her standing and balancing on one foot while and singing, not to mention the Music and her voice is amazing, the guitar and band also amazing (( LOVE IT ALL ))
Much of this music from my youth, defines me as the adult I currently am. Period.
Same
one of the best albums of all time!!!
I'd have to agree. It;s a no-skip record but also one of the all-time most underrated.
You must be kidding, she's the most boring female artist of that era. All her music sounds the same without variation. Paul Simon certainly married her for something other than her music. She's a one hit artist like Hootie and the Blowfish.

Great song 🎵 and animation 👌
I'm so glad I found this album! To be honest, I was looking for an album that resembled the sound of the first Cranberries album and came across this
I was fortunate to see Lou Reed on Halloween in Milwaukee back in the 70s, the Milwaukee Police wouldn't turn the lights off during the concert. Regardless, joints were still being passed around.
Bike riding in the fall of 2002 when I was missing someone I loved then...
Edie brickell me eriza cada vez que la escucho,es adorable su voz. Única
3 minutes 10 seconds of pure joy!
She's like Lisa Loeb... So cute
El CD no tiene ni un solo tema malo. Es excelente!
glad i got to see Edie and the band back in the day on tour supporting this disc...

Super band, well underrated. Lovely voice too what's it with girls called Eddie (Eddie Reader from Scotland, also super voice).

Deciding to have a better day. This. 🎉🎉🎉
0:11 Well, let's see.. You must have been 18 and uncle Paul was 60 when he married you.
1988 was my birth year. God bless the 80s and 90z vibes
I see her in this video,I would ask her......would she play her husband's guitar?
Miss the good Ole days
Seems like an intro to a show that ran for like two seasons between 95 and 96

god bless and long live even kudos to edie kenny and wes and these rhythm sections
Growing up with 3 sisters very close in age, listening to her in mornings made it so much easier!
Crushing on Edie for 22 years and counting.
Why is her mouth so huge? It’s freaking me out!

Just a GREAT GREAT song on so many levels!!
love her and love shooting rubberbands at the stars!!!!
After listening to this (kinda boring to me because I'm just not a fan) but, it's pretty apparent alot of people ripped these guys off in the 90's.
Still did the fade on this song. Makes it gold.
